GENERAL SPECIFICATION FOR COILS
A Division of Nailor International Inc.
CPE UNITS
Connections are male pipe thread.
Model CPE units are designed to accept coils up to a total of 8
rows deep. Coils are 1/2" OD seamless copper tube with
aluminum or copper platefins at 12 fins per inch. Water coils
features copper MPT connections and manual vents and
drains. Refrigerant coils have copper OD sweat connections.
Maximum working conditions of 200-psog, 300ºF.
ROOF TOP AIR HANDLING UNITS
5/8" OD coils over 60" in length will have supply connections at
each end.
Model RTA units are designed to facilitate 8 rows of cooling coil
and 2 rows of heating coil. Any type coil can be provided for the
units.
CENTRAL PLANT AIR CONDITIONING UNITS
– Low and Medium Pressure
Model CP units – Vertical and Horizontal Type CP, Vertical and
Horizontal Type MT.
All coils are made from seamless copper tubing with helical
wound fins. Aluminum fins have an integral spacing collar (or
foot) to ensure proper spacing. Fins are wound under tension
to provide a permanent mechanical bond. Coils with copper
fins are solder coated after fin is wound on the tubes.
Tubes are arranged in a staggered pattern with respect to
adjacent rows to provide maximum heat transfer efficiency.
Return bends are the full thickness and diameter of the coil
tubes to provide unrestricted flow and undiminished strength.
Tubes sheets and enclosing casing is fabricated of galvanized
steel. Tube sheet tube openings are die-formed with smooth
rounded collars to permit expansion and contraction without
distortion or tube damage. Intermediate supports are provided
to assure that there are no unsupported tubes over 48" in
length thus assuring a rigid coil assembly.
Coil headers are copper tubes with male pipe connections on
water standard stream coils. Steam distributing coils have
copper headers with male pipe connections. Direct expansion
refrigerant coils have copper headers with OD copper
connections.
Water cooling and heating coils and direct expansion
refrigerant coils are custom circuited to the job specifications.
Special configurations of coil arrangements (row splits and
face splits) are also available for special applications and
control requirements.
Steam Distributing – Type SD
Type SD steam coils are on row with 1" OD condensing tube
and 5/8" OD steam distributing tube. Standard fin spacing is 10
fin/in. of aluminum.
Supply and condensate headers are fabricated of cooper and
connections are copper with MPT.
Connections can be on one end (standard) or on opposite
ends.

Typical Engineering Specification: All coils shall be
constructed of 5/8" OD, Type "L" or copper seamless copper
tubing with helical wound aluminum or copper fins. Coils
constructed of all-copper shall be formed from galvanized
sheet steel # 16 USS gauge. All coils shall be tested under
warm water at a pneumatic casing shall be used inside water
coil tubes which may increase the water pressure drop and
interfere with drainability
