Performance / Screen Studio
The Performance/ Screen Studio (150-300 guests) is the largest of the MAC spaces and the most flexible in terms
of potential uses. The floor space is 17.6m x 9.6m with a lighting grid at 6.2M. The space is equipped to support
everything from a small film festival to an aerial circus workshops and intimate music concert.
There is no fixed staging and no permanent seating banks. A default end staging configuration can seat up to 150
people. An unseated cocktail style or informal musical event, opening onto the foyer and internal courtyard can
cater for up to 300 people. The space can operate from natural daytime light to full black out. The Studio has an
in-house audio system, full LED stage lighting across a ceiling grid, and large screen projection capacity.
Hire includes access to:
• LED theatre lamp stock suitable for live performance and video in basic pre-set configurations
• Full in house sound system, mixing desk and microphone/ DI’s
•Cinema style large screen projector and motorised drop down screen for default end stage configuration only.
Can be operated through HDMI (via Cat 6) or VGA from multiple points
in the Centre
• Semi sprung wood floor across the entire space
•Tracked theatre curtaining around all interior walls as well as capacity to divide the space
into a 60/40 split.
• Two fully rated anchor points suitable for static aerial work such as silks or trapeze.
• Mobile staging and seating units and accessible ramp for various configurations
• In house Yamaha acoustic piano (upright)
•Male and Female dressing rooms with counter space for three performers per room with
separate shower and toilet facilities.
• Up to 160 chairs
• Stock of large size durable scatter cushions ideal for child patrons
•Lighting and sound mobile desk allowing flexibly in the space but with an optimum control space identified in
the NE corner of the Studio adjacent to foyer entry.
Please note the Performance / Screen Studio space is designed to support groups with minimal technical
training. For more complicated set ups you will require a venue accredited technician. This may incur additional
charges. Depending upon a risk assessment of your proposed performance, MAC may insist on a venue
accredited fire-warden being present, as a condition of hire. This

Technical Specifications
•The Performance Screen Studio is an intimate 18.5 M by 10.5 M black box performance and screen studio.
There is no fixed staging or permanent seating banks. A range of performance configurations are possible,
including:
oDefault end staging at western end of the space - can seat up to 140 patrons. (standard mode for music
concerts and screen events)
oTraverse and three sided staging configurations - seating from 50 to 130 patrons
oUnseated informal cocktail style or informal music concert event, opening onto the foyer and internal
courtyard: 300 plus patrons, standing.
• Lighting grid at 6.0 M over the entire studio space
•Lighting and sound can be operated from a mobile desk allowing flexibly in the space but with an optimum
control space identified in the NE corner of the Studio adjacent to foyer entry.
•LED theatre lamp stock suitable for live performance and video (as per below). DMX outlets for operation
across the grid and at floor level
• Full in house sound system, mixing desk and microphone/ di’s (as per below)
•Cinema style large screen projector and motorised drop down screen for default end stage configuration
• Semi sprung wood floor across the entire space
•Tracked, hand paiged theatre curtaining around interior walls as well as capacity to divide the space into a
60/40 split.
•There are two (2) rated anchor points (5 Ton) suitable for static trapeze, silks or other static circus style rigging.
