Transformer Turn Ratio IRT-101
General Overview
The Transformer Turn Ratio Meter IRT-101 is an instrument designed to
accurately measure to the transformer turn ratio providing an easy reading on the
panel. It can be used both in the field and laboratory, powered by 127VCA or 220VCA,
to test power and distribution single-phase transformers such as other transformers
designed to work from 25 to 60 Hz.
The low-side of the transformer under test must be rated to voltages higher or equal
to 6Vrms. When operating in 6Vrms the excitation current is around 1.5Arms. Then
almost all power and distribution transformers can be tested by IRT-101.
It allows to detect windings in short-circuit or open-circuit.
