As a result of almost 20 years of capital investment in the construction of our fixed,
mobile and satellite networks, Optus is able to provide an advanced technology
platform capable of delivering cutting-edge communications and information
services.
Extend your reach through partnership with Optus Wholesale
Since 2003, Optus has provided on average $1 billion of capital investment in network infrastructure each year. As at late 2009, our
Australian network includes:
• A mobile network with over 4,000 base stations
• A fibre transmission network with over 10,000 kilometres of fibre
• Five domestic satellites
• A Hybrid Fibre Coax network extending over 26,000 kilometres
• A direct fibre network serving business customers with over 17,000 connections.
Optus Wholesale offers service providers the ability to on-sell access to this impressive network. We also unite Optus’ domestic and
international operations – enabling us to deliver value to telecommunications service providers and carriers around Australia and the
globe, with products designed specifically for the wholesale market.

The Optus Wholesale range of communication solutions provides pathways for
profitability through a choice of differentiated products and services. Our partners
are able to grow their business without any capital investment in their own network
infrastructure. Our portfolio of services can be broadly divided into three categories:
Mobile, Wireline and Satellite.
MOBILE
Optus was first-to-market with Wholesale 3G
Optus has been wholesaling since inception. In tandem with building a quality mobile voice and broadband network, we have focussed on
building strong relationships with our partners. Optus works with you to tailor a portfolio of product and pricing options to cater for your
customers’ individual mobile phone preferences.
Our 3G dual-band mobile network, which achieves coverage of 96% of the Australian population, supports video calling, wireless broadband,
Internet browsing, picture messages and video streaming.
Optus Wholesale’s Wireless Broadband products provide tailored-to-market products from residential broadband to business applications.
This gives service providers even greater flexibility to add services using their own infrastructure, customised plans and value added
features.
WIRELINE
A superior choice of voice and data options
In most cases using existing telephone line infrastructure, Optus Wholesale solutions include residential and business services for local,
national and international calls to and from fixed locations. As a Tier 1 Carrier, we also offer traditional voice and VoIP products providing
Carrier Interconnect and Call Termination Services.
The first to offer Wholesale ADSL2+ technology, our Residential Broadband and Telephony Bundle solutions for home and SME markets
deliver high quality and value at fast speed.
The broad scalability, price and performance potential of our Transmission Solutions – including Ethernet, E-Link and Broadlink services –
make them well suited for reselling to your customers at competitive prices.
Partners can now offer businesses access to Tier-1 national and global IP connectivity with Optus Wholesale Evolve – a next generation IP
network that provides a range of flexible communication services including secure and durable IP VPN, Voice and Internet. Modular and
scalable, Evolve enables your business customers to enjoy immediate performance enhancements as well as address their future
networking demands.
SATELLITE
The only Australian telco to own and operate its own fleet of satellites
With the largest fleet of domestic satellites in the region, Optus offers solutions to meet all domestic and regional satellite communication
needs. This includes access to the most advanced satellite mobile phones.
Our Thuraya Mobile Satellite solutions introduces the smallest, lightest and smartest dual mode satellite handsets in the world. A
SatPhone that fits in your pocket with a footprint covering Australia and territorial waters out to 200 kilometres expanding to nearly
one-third of the globe.
SatData International is a fast, IP-based satellite data broadcast solution that delivers high-speed interactive data, audio and video
services to medium and large-sized organisations with strong international links.
Wholesale Satellite VSAT Services offer an ‘always on’ two-way high speed Internet access service for rural and remote locations in
Australia and New Zealand.
