PROTECTING CUSTOMERS’ INVESTMENTS
Founded in 1915 as a supplier of paints for the
marine segment and heavy industry, Hempel is today
a leading global company in industrial coatings. We
produce and sell paints to the Marine, Protective,
Container, Yacht and Decorative segments. Our
coatings protect customers’ investments from the
corrosive forces of nature to extend their lifetimes,
reduce maintenance costs, and make them more
attractive.
Hempel offers high-quality anticorrosive paints
intended mainly for the surface protection of steel
structures in infrastructure, petrochemical plants,
cranes, wind turbines, bridges, railway carriages,
chemical plants and other segments. Hempel puts
emphasis on the development and delivery of
economical and environmentally friendly solutions
to help customers meet environmental standards
while controlling costs. We also offer customised
solutions based on extensive research and broad
international experience.
In addition to classic solvent-based paints (typically
with high volume solids), the product assortment
includes water-based paints and specialised
paints for specific conditions. Hempel offers paints
based on: silicone resins, alkyds, vinyls, acrylates,
epoxy-esters, epoxides, epoxy tars, polyurethanes,
zinc silicates, and silicones.
Numerous testing and research institutions have given their approval
to Hempel’s paints. The products are certified for various operating
conditions and meet today’s regulatory requirements.
A GUIDE TO MOST FREQUENTLY USED PAINTS
This overview presents only selected paints designated for anticorrosion protection in the Protective
segment. They are produced in most of Hempel’s plants and are widely available. Paints for other
purposes, products unique to the assortment of individual production plants, and custom coatings are
not included here. To obtain detailed information, specifications and pricing for a particular project,
please contact your local Hempel representative or the nearest Hempel office shown on the back
cover of this publication.
