This guide will describe the detectors and peripherals of PIMA Wireless Intruder Alarm Systems.
The products of PIMA Wireless are easy to install, plug-n-play. They provide intruder alarm capabilities, with or without visual-verification and remote Look-in.
Suitable for residential and small business applications, the PIMA intruder alarm systems present a comprehensive solution for security and personal safety.

SmartView is a digital supervised PIR motion detector, with an integrated VGA CMOS high quality color camera. Used for visual verification purposes and designed for easy installation, its matched field-of-view between the camera and the PIR detector needs no vertical adjustment.
The SmartView can be used for a wide range of home and office indoor applications.

Do the following steps to mount the detector:
1.
Release the screw on the bottom of the bracket of the detector, and remove the bracket.
2.

Drill holes for surface or corner mounting.
Insert the supplied wall plugs and fasten the bracket to the surface with the supplied screws.
4.
Place the detector in the mounting bracket and fasten the screw.
5.
If you need to adjust the direction of the detector, loosen the screw and rotate it.
6.
Fasten the screw tightly.
When the SmartView batteries are exhausted, do the following to replace them:

Release the screw of the bracket and remove the detector.
Release the screw of the cover of the battery compartment, and remove the cover.
3.
Replace the two batteries with new alkaline batteries. See a sticker on the battery holder for correct polarity.
4.
When you insert the batteries, the LED will light up in blue for 2-4 sec. to indicate correct installation.
5.
Close the cover and fasten the screw.

Passive Infra-Red (PIR) motion detectors detect movements in a given area. When an intruder crosses its path of detection, the detector signals the Control Panel to activate the alarm.
The PIR-P has a Digitalized Adaptive Signal Processor algorithm. You can mount it on flat surfaces and corners.

PIR-S Motion Detector
The PIR-P has a detection range of 12 m, 110 0 wide, when mounted 2 m aboveground. The detector is more sensitive to movements across its field of view, than movements towards or away from it.

Use JP3 jumper to set the sensitivity the detector. To set the sensitivity, do the following:
1.
Release the screw at the bottom of the detector and remove the cover
2.
Set the JP3 jumper:
• Jumper OFF - Normal sensitivity (default)
• Jumper ON - High sensitivity
The PIR uses a 3.6 V Lithium battery, with a typical battery life of 3 years, at an average of 20 activations a day. On low battery condition, it has enough reserve energy to operate for about one month.

When replacing the battery, after removing the old one, press the Tamper switch twice to fully discharge, before inserting the new battery.
After inserting the new battery, press the Test button once, to reset the Low
Battery event.

Release the bottom screw and remove the back cover.

Remove the surface knockouts, encircled in red in the figure on the right.
3.
Drill matching holes in the surface and insert the supplied wall plugs.
4.
Fasten the detector with the supplied screws into the wall plugs.
5.
Press the detector tightly to the surface, to press the tamper spring
Close the cover and fasten the screw.
To mount the detector with the corner bracket, do the following:

Remove the two knockouts, encircled in red in the upper figure on the right.
Drill two matching holes and insert the supplied wall plugs.
3.
Fasten the corner bracket with the supplied screws into the wall plugs.
4.
Fasten the detector to the bracket, by pressing the two pegs (encircled in red) on the bracket, into the holes in line on the back.
To test the link between the detector and the control panel, press the LED that is also the test button. A 3-minute test will start immediately, during which the detector will transmit a test signal to the Control panel. While in test, the LED of the detector will flash with every detection.
After 3 minutes, the detector returns to normal mode.
The detector enters a one-minute sleep mode, after transmitting a detected movement. It will not transmit again during this minute, not to exhaust the battery. If further movements are detected during this minute, they will extend sleep time by one more minute, and so on.

PIR-P Pet-Immune Motion Detector
The PIR-P is a motion detector, designed to eliminate the possibility of false alarms due to pets
(up to 27 kg). Except that, it shares the same characteristics as the PIR-P detector. See the previous chapter for full details.

The PIR-O is a dual-lens, interlaced horizontal beam motion detector. It is designed to detect pet (up to 75 cm/60 kg, adjustable) and other objects.
The PIR-O dual lens and sensors and its DASP (Digitalized Adaptive Signal
Processor) algorithm, provide detection sensitivity and reduces false alarms, caused by small animals or other outdoor disturbances.
With its automatic-adjusted sensitivity control of background temperature, the
PIR-O ensures excellent performance, regardless of changes in the environment or outside interferences.

Press the LED (that is also the Test button) to put the detector into three-minute Test mode: the
LED will then light up for two seconds, when a movement is detected. Sleep time (see page 8) will
be ignored.
The PIR-O will automatically exit Test mode after three minutes, and return to normal mode.
To put it into constant Test mode, set DIP switch #1 on (see page 12).
The dip switch is used for setting various installation locations and functions of the detector. The function of each dip switch is listed in the next table. The switch’s top position indicates ON and bottom position indicates OFF.

The PIR-O has two internal tilt switches that can alarm when it is tilted in an angle of 15° right/ left, or 90° forward/backward. The switches are disabled by default.
To enable them, press and hold the LED for 8 sec. when the back plate is in place (the tamper switch must be closed). The LED will flash 5 times to confirm.
To disable the switches, open the back plate (to release the tamper switch).

The PIR-O transmits supervision signals to the control panel, at random intervals of 30 - 50 min.
If the Control Panel has not received the signal for the preset period, it will display a fault.
The PIR-O has a double knock function. When enabled (by a dip switch), it will report an alarm to the control panel, only if two movements are detected within 10 seconds.
The recommendations to install the PIR-O are:
• 2.3 m above ground level the detection range is from
1 m to 11 m
• The operating temperature is -10° to 50°C
• In a corner for the widest view
• Where an intruder would normally move across the field of view
• Adjust the mounting height of PIR-O with respect to the tallest pet
• Where animals cannot access the detector
• Clear all light reflecting surfaces from the detection area, as well as water puddles
• Do not install the PIR-O completely exposed to direct sunlight
• Do not install in areas with rapid change of temperature, e.g. near air conditioners
• Avoid large obstacles in the detection area
• Do not point directly at sources of heat, such as boilers, or install above radiators
• The PIR-O detects differences between the moving object and the background. If the object is idle, the PIR-O cannot detect it
• The PIR-O is better at detecting movements across its field of view, than towards and from it
• When deciding on the mounting height of the PIR-O, remember to take the blind spot into consideration. The blind spot located beneath the PIR-O, is enlarged proportionally to the height of the PIR-O
• The PIR-O can distinguish between pets and human bodies, and alert accordingly by movement detection combined with two PIR-O lenses

1.
Loosen the fixing screws (1 at the bottom, 2 in the back) and remove the cover assembly.
2.
Set the sensitivity dip switches; see the table on page 12.
3.
Insert two 3.6V AA Lithium batteries into the battery holder, taking care to correct polarity.

The LED indicator will flash for 30 seconds. The PIR-O is warming up. During the warming period, the PIR-O is not active and it is recommended to stay away from the detection area during this time. After the warming period is over, the LED dims and the PIR-O is ready to work.

Enroll the detector in the control panel; see the AlarmView Installation guide for details.
Hold the PIR-O in the wanted location and press the Test button to confirm this location is within the signal range of the control panel.
The rotating bracket is combined of a rotating arm and a bracket. It allows horizontal adjustment for better coverage. You can also easily detach the PIR-O from the bracket to replace the battery.
1.
Use the rotating bracket as a template and drill holes in the mounting surface, depending on surface or corner mounting - see the previous figure.
2.
Insert the wall plugs if fixing into plaster or brick.
3.
Fasten the rotating bracket into the wall plugs with the flat side facing the wall. The bracket arm should be facing you, with hinge on top.
4.
Fasten the bracket arm to the PIR-O base cover, with the pointy ends facing away from the detector and hinge on top.
5.
Fit the PIR-O onto the hooks of the rotating bracket.
6.
Adjust the detecting angle, by fitting the bracket arm onto one of the holes on top of the rotating bracket, and fasten the top screw as shown bellow. Note that the PIR-O has an internal rotating housing that can be adjusted horizontally, so its 110° coverage may vary between 0° and 180°.

Hold the PIR-O in the desired location and press the Test button to confirm this location is within the signal range of the control panel.

The PIR-O detects and signals on low battery when there is enough reserved energy to operate for a month (typically), before complete exhaustion. A low battery signal will be sent to the control panel along with regular status signal.
To replace the battery:
1.
Remove the detector from its mounting location and open its cover
2.
Remove the old battery
3.
Press the tamper button a few seconds to fully discharge
4.
Insert two new 3.6V AA size lithium batteries
5.
Fasten back the cover

The DCM is a wireless magnetic door contact that can detect the opening and closing of doors, windows and other openings. It is made of a main unit and a magnet. Typically, you fix the main unit on a doorframe or windowsill, and the magnet on the door or window.
The DCM is protected by a tamper switch if anyone tries to open it or removing it. It sends regular supervision signals.
You can use door contact as a universal transmitter: it has a built-in terminal block that enables the connection in serial of more magnet switches and any dry contact N.C. device.

To enroll the DCM, do the following first:
1.
Release the cover screw and remove the cover.
2.
Insert the supplied 1/2 AA 3.6V battery into the battery holder, taking care to connect the polarity correctly.
3.

The LED will flash briefly; wait for 10 seconds
Enroll the detector in the control panel - do it on the mounting location, to test the communication.
5.
If you put JP1 on, remove it.
Note, that you should place the magnet no more than 30 mm away from the main unit, when the door or window is closed.
To mount the detector using screws, do the following:
1.

Release the cover screw and remove the cover.
Remove the knockouts from the backplate. See the previous figure.
3.
Fasten the backplate to the surface, using the supplied screws. If you mount the SCM on a solid surface, you can drill holes and use the wall plugs to mount the door contact.
4.
Fix the main unit onto the backplate and fasten the screw.
5.
Mount the magnet with two screws.
To mount the detector using double-side adhesive pad, do the following:
1.
Make sure the mounting surface is clean. Do not use the adhesive pad on a surface with peeling or cracked paint, or on a rough surface.
2.
Remove the protective covering from one side of a double-side adhesive pad or tape, and apply it firmly to the backplate.
3.
Remove the other covering and firmly press the main unit onto the desired location.
4.
Fit the magnet on the door/window frame, using either double-side adhesive pad or tape, or fasten it with screws.
5.
Mount the magnet on the frame of opening, using the small double-side adhesive pad. Leave no more than 30 mm space between the magnet and the main unit.
6.
Fix the cover assembly onto its base and fasten the screw. Make sure the spring of the tamper switch is pressed against the surface.

DCM Magnetic Door Contact
To test the door contact:
1.
Remove the front cover
2.
Put JP1 (Test/Normal jumper) on - the LED will light up to indicate detection
3.
Close the unit (to prevent tamper alert) and bring the magnet near the unit
4.
When the test is complete, remove the jumper
5.
Close the cover back onto its base
External magnet switch (not supplied) is useful in the following situations:
1.
You cannot mount the main unit on the doorframe: connect an extra magnet switch to the extension terminal in the main unit, and mount the door contact wherever possible.
2.
More than one opening needs to be protected by the door contact: connect couples of magnet switch and magnet in serial to the extension terminal.
3.
The door contact can be used as a universal transmitter. See the next section.
You can connect any wired dry contact device to the extension terminal, so when that device is triggered the door contact will send an alarm signal. The device needs to be an N.C. type and the connection must be in serial.
You can choose to use the DCM as a transmitter in addition to the magnet switch, or use it as a transmitter only:

If you connect a device to the magnet switch to use it as a transmitter, then the door contact will be activated when the protected opening is being opened or the external device is triggered.
A “Door Closed” or “Restore” signal will be sent only after both the protected opening and the violated device are restored.
If you choose to use the DCM as a universal transmitter only, do the following:
1.
Put on JP2 (See “The jumpers”, on page 17)
2.
Mount the main unit of the DCM.
3.
Connect the device to it with two wires.

• KF-1: one-way communication.

• Press an arming mode button to arm the alarm system to the respective mode.
• Press the Disarm button to disarm the alarm system. Also, press this button to stop the siren.
• Press the Full arm and Disarm buttons simultaneously for 1 second to send a Panic alarm.

Turn the battery cover on the back side counter-clockwise, by using a coin, and remove it and the battery.
2.
Insert the new battery with the unmarked side (Negative side) facing down.
3.
Replace the battery cover.
4.
Fasten the cover by using a coin.

The PCP is a waterproof panic pendant and wristwatch. It is designed for people with special care needs, to wear it as they move around the premise.

Do not change the factory settings of the dip switch, which are: switch 3 - On, all others - Off.
SIR-B/R External Siren
The external siren produces a minimum of 104 dBA sound pressure, at 1 m. It stops sounding the alarm when the programmable cut-off time (180 sec) expires, or when the Stop Siren command is initiated in the control panel.
Because the siren is one-way, if it does not stop sounding the alarm when the alarm system is disarmed, re-arm, and then disarm it again.
In low battery condition, the external siren emits an intermittent alarm sound, instead of continuous sound.
The strobe light will flash to indicate various system statuses, like when arming the alarm system.
It will stop flashing when the siren cut-off time has expired, or when the control panel is disarmed.
See the next table for more details.
To recognize various statuses, the siren can use the following indications, while arming and disarming the alarm system, and during the entry and exit delays. These options are set in the external siren menu and depend on the control panel’s firmware version.

If the siren detects a tamper condition, it will activate the siren for 5 min. The siren can be stopped using the Stop Siren command.
If the tamper condition persists, the siren will sound a series of five beeps, when arming the system and 3-sec. alarm when disarming the system. If the tamper switch is pressed again, it will re-activate the siren. See the next table for more details.
To install the wireless external siren, do the following:

The siren produces a minimum of 104 dBA sound pressure at 1 m on axis. It is programmable via the siren cut-off time, defined in the control panel.
The siren is silenced either when the programmed siren cut-off time expires or when the Stop
Siren command is initiated from the control panel.
In case of low battery condition, the siren gives an intermittent alarm sound instead of continuous one.

The smoke detector can be enrolled during the 6-minute warm-up phase, or after calibration is complete. To enroll the SM detector:
1.
Insert the batteries into the battery compartment. Ensure correct polarity, as shown on the battery holder.
2.
The smoke detector will sound two beeps and the LED will start flashing, as the 6-minute warming period begins.
3.
After 6 minutes, a short beep will indicate the detector is starting the calibration. Until the calibration ends, a beep will be sounded every 100 sec.
4.
When the calibration ends, two beeps will be sounded and the LED will turn OFF.
It normally takes 2-16 minutes to calibrate the detector. If after 16 minutes the detector emits continuous beeps, calibration has failed. If so, remove the batteries to silence the beeps, wait 30 sec. and repeat the process from step 1.
During the calibration period, pressing the Test button is prohibited.
If you have not enrolled the detector during the warming period, wait until calibration is complete, before trying to enroll it.
We recommend installing the smoke detector in the center of the ceiling.
However, do not mount the detector in the following locations:
• the kitchen - smoke from cooking will probably cause false alarms.
• near a ventilating fan, florescent lamp or air-conditioning equipment - air drafts can affect the sensitivity of the detector.
• near ceiling beams or over a cabinet - stagnant air can affect the sensitivity of the detector.
• in the peak of an “A” frame ceiling type.
To install the smoke detector:
1.
Insert the batteries into the battery compartment. Ensure correct polarity, as shown on the battery holder. The detector will sound 2 short beeps, the LED will start flashing and the 6 minute warming period will begin.

Enroll the unit during the warming period; see the previous section
3.
After the calibration, press the Test button (at the mounting location), to confirm that the location is within range of the control panel.
4.
Using the bracket as a template, drill two holes in the location the device and insert the wall/plasterboard plugs.
5.
Fasten the bracket with the two hooks facing down to the plugs, using the supplied screws.
6.
Locate the single line mark on the detector and line it up with one of the hooks of the bracket. Both hooks should fit in the two mounting holes on the detector.
7.
Rotate the detector counterclockwise to lock it in onto the bracket.

SM Smoke Detector
Press the Test button to ensure that the detector is functioning properly:
• If the detector functions normally, the LED will stay on for two sec, and then sound two beeps.
• If the optical chamber is dirty or out-of-order, it will sound three beeps.
• If the LED does not light and no beep is sounded, the detector is out-of-order.
When the concentration of the smoke exceeds the set threshold value, the SM begins a series of operations:
1.
Alarm signal is sent to the control panel
2.
The buzzer will alarm for 10 sec. and the LED will flash rapidly
3.
The smoke concentration is checked again - if it remains high, the detector will repeat the
10-second warnings.
4.
As long as smoke concentration continues to be higher than allowed, the detector will continue to send alarm signals every two min.
The buzzer and LED lighting can be stopped, by using the “Alarm Silence” command; see next.
Press the Test button to stop the alarm and put the detector into alarm silence mode for 10 min.
During this period, the LED will flash once every sec.
After 10 min., the detector will emit a two-tone beep and return to normal operation mode.
If the smoke concentration is still over the set threshold value, the detector will repeat the 10second warnings.
You may need to take a new reference value (i.e., re-calibrate) occasionally, to ensure the functionality of the smoke detector. To take a new reference value, press and hold the Test button for 10 sec., until the LED starts to flash. See more details on calibration in the previous page.
Note, that every time you insert batteries the detector takes a new reference value.

The DCO detector provides protection, by detecting dangerous presence of
Carbon Monoxide (CO) gas. It is capable of sensing carbon monoxide levels as low as 30 ppm (Parts Per Million).
Once the concentration of the Carbon Monoxide exceeds the set threshold value, the detector flashes the Red LED and sends an alarm signal to the control panel. After the transmission is completed, the detector activates its buzzer with the Red LED flashing rapidly for local warning.

After installation, the detector will start sending random supervision signals periodically, at intervals of 30-50 min.
Once the alarm is sounding, pressing the test button will put the detector into “Alarm Silence” mode for 10 minutes, and the alarm will be stopped. After 10 min., the detector will check the CO concentration again. If it is still over the set threshold value, the alarm will be sounded again.
Press the test button to check that the DCO detector is functioning properly:
• If the detector is OK, the LED will illuminate for 2 sec. and a beep will be sounded.
• If 3 beeps are sounded, the CO sensor is out-of-order.

When the probes of the detector are exposed to water, it sends an alarm signal to the control panel. If the water level decreases, the detector returns to normal operation mode. If water condition persists for two more minutes, a second alarm signal is sent and the detector will enter sleep mode - it will not trigger the alarm anymore, even if the water level increases.
After the probes are no longer exposed to water, a Restore signal is sent to the control panel.

Low battery is reported only after the WLD detects a low battery status 10 times, with an interval of 10 minutes between each. The signal will be sent to the control panel along with a regular supervision signal (which is sent randomly every 30-50 min)
The water leakage detector is composed of a sensor and two steal probes. Position the probes with the contacts pointing down, where water can gather. If the surface to mount the probes is smooth, use the included double-sided tape to hold it.
After you placed the probes, mount the sensor on a stable surface. The cover has two knockouts for mounting purpose. To mount the detector:

Remove the screws

Break through the two knockouts
3.
Drill two matching holes in the surface
4.
Insert the wall plugs if fixing into plaster or brick
5.
Clip the cover to the base
6.
Screw the detector to the surface

To test the detector, put the probes in a glass with little water inside and make sure the system receives the alarm. Check that you receive alarm every 3 minutes.

The dip switch sets the mode and functions of the Repeater. Use the next table to set it, according to the required function:

Hook the repeater onto the wall mounting bracket.

The Repeater will sound a long beep and illuminate its green LED.
The REP has a Ni-MH 600 mAH 4.8V rechargeable backup battery. During normal operation, the
AC power adapter charges the battery. When the power is applied by the battery, the Green LED stays on.
When the battery is fully charged, it can provide backup power for 30 hours. It takes 48 hours to charge the battery fully.
Low battery detection operates at a threshold of 4.4V, where the repeater has enough reserve energy to typically operate for two hours, before complete exhaustion. A low battery signal will be sent to the control panel, along with the Green LED regular flashing.
Before opening the protective cover, make sure the power adaptor is not plugged in.

REP Repeater
Do the following to test if the repeater is functioning normally:
1.
Open the protective cover at the back of the unit to expose the dipswitch.
2.
Slide switch SW1-2 to the On position (walk test mode). See the dipswitch settings on
3.
Transmit a signal from one of the devices - once the signal is received, the repeater will sound one long beep and the red LED will light for 1 sec.
4.
Repeat steps 2-3 for testing other devices.
5.
Return SW1-2 to off position.
When the repeater receives a valid signal from a device, the signal is relayed to the control panel and the status LED flashes once. There is a two-sec. delay after each transmission, to avoid conflicts when several transmissions are sent at the same time.
If the repeater receives the same signal within two sec., the second signal is ignored.
To erase all enrolled devices, you need to clear the memory. This will also set the unit back to factory defaults.
To clear the memory of the REP:
1.
Disconnect the unit from power and remove it from its mounting bracket.
2.
Open the protective cover at the back.
3.
Set the dip switch SW1-3 to the on (up) position.
4.
Press & hold the clear memory button (see page 44) for 5 seconds and release.
5.
The Repeater will emit short beeps continuously for 1 second, indicating that all of the previous learnt devices are cleared successfully.
6.
Set dip switch SW1-3 back to the off (down) position.
