The ALBS is a 12~24 kV air-pnuematic load-break
switch with a nominal current rating of 630A. It is a
compactly designed system which is compatible
with both LCA-A panels and IV2000 panels. The
arc-quenching system of the ALBS consists of a
pneumatic piston within the moving contacts which
discharges a shot of air at the arcing plasma during
the opening action, giving it a breaking capacity of
1500A at 12kV. The ALBS is available as a line
switch or a fuse-switch with fuse-holders for HRC
fuses of up to 100A, and an operating mechanism
with tripping capability. Motorised operation is
available for the ALBS.
