Manual contain important information for use and maintenance of the equipment as well as for your personal safety. Keep these instructions in a safe place for maintenance purposes or for ordering spare parts. For your safety • Swim ergometer should be used only for intended purpose, i.e. for physical exercise. • Any other use of the equipment is prohibited and may be dangerous. The manufacturer cannot be held liable for damage or injury caused by improper use of the equipment. • Swim ergometer has been designed in accordance to the latest standards of safety. Any features which may have been a possible cause of injury have been avoided or made as safe as possible. • Incorrect repairs and structural modifications (e.g. removal or replacement of original parts) may endanger the safety of the user. • Damaged components may endanger your safety or reduce the lifetime of the equipment. For this reason, worn or damaged parts should be replaced immediately and the equipment taken out of use until this has been done. • In case of enquiry for spare parts, please contact WEBA Sport. • If the equipment is in regular use, check all its components thoroughly every 1-2 months. Pay particular attention to the tightness of bolts and nuts. • Instruct persons using the equipment (in particular children) on possible sources of danger during exercising. • Before beginning your program of exercise, consult your doctor to ensure that you are fit enough to use the equipment. Base your program of exercise on the advice given by your doctor. Incorrect or excessive exercise may damage your health. • Our products are subject to a constant innovative quality assurance. We reserve the right to perform technical modifications. 4 Handling the equipment • • • • • • • It is not recommended to use or store the apparatus in a damp room as this may cause it to rust. Please ensure that no part of the machine comes in contact with liquids (drinks, perspiration etc.) This may cause corrosion. The Swim Ergometer is designed for use by adults and children should not be allowed to play with it. Children at play behave unpredictably and dangerous situations may occur for which the manufacturer cannot be held liable. If, in spite of his, children are allowed to use the equipment, ensure that they are instructed in its proper use and supervised accordingly. The Ergometer complies fully with DIN EN 957 1/5, class SA. It is therefore suitable for therapeutic purposes. Please ensure that liquids or perspiration never enter the machine or the electronics. Do not use corrosive or abrasive materials to clean the equipment. Ensure that such materials are not allowed to pollute the environment. The equipment does not require any special maintenance. All bearings are lubricated (further lubrication is not required). Before use, always check all screws and plug-in connections as well as respective safety devices fit correctly 5 Instructions for assembly • Ensure that you have received all the parts required and that they are not damaged. If you have any cause for complaining, please contact WEBA Sport. • Before assembling the equipment, study the drawings carefully and carry out the operations in the order shown by the diagrams. The correct sequence is given in capital letters. • The equipment must be assembled with due care by an adult person. If in doubt, call for help a second person, if possible technically talented. • Please note that there is always a danger of injury when working with tills or doing manual work. Therefore please be careful when assembling this machine. • Ensure that your working area is free of possible sources of danger, for example don’t leave any tools lying around. Always dispose packaging material in such a way that it may not cause any danger. There is always a risk of suffocation of children play with plastic bags. • Bolt all the parts together loosely at first, and check that they have been assembled correctly. Tighten the locknuts by hand until resistance is felt, then use spanner to finally tighten nuts completely against resistance (locking device). Then check that all screws connections have been tightened firmly. • Please keep original packaging of this article, so that it may be used for transport at a later dare, if necessary. • For technical reasons, we reserve the right to carry out preliminary assembly work. The complexity of the smooth and gentle motions increases the muscles strength and flexibility of the upper body. It also offers the optimal cardio vascular training. The unlimited range of resistance is given through air displacement turbine. This break system allows the using of the SWIM ERGOMETER independent from age or fitnesslevel. The load is regulated by the pulling effort. The working position is adjustable for all body height. The SWIM ERGOMETER is quality engineered using the heavy-duty component. This ergo meter could be disassembled in two parts for convenient transportation or storage. The SWIM ERGOMETER optimal and cost effective training machine provided with an electronic unit PERFORM ANCE MONITOR (Display Device) for monitoring time, movement rate, force and power. Performance monitor take signals from strain gages sensors for accurate measuring of force and power. 7 Package Includes Swim Ergometer with Display Device Battery charger USB cable Choose the correct connector The enclosed connectors correspond to the most commonly used. The correct connector should fit properly using a little pressure. Do not use extreme force to set the connector as this could damage the unit to be charged. Operation Plug the power plug into a convenient mains socket. After connecting the charger with the battery pack the charging indicator signals that the battery is charging. The charging doesn‘t stop automatically. Please take a look to the charging table (4) for the right charging time. Charging time Approximately 12h. Attention The charger is for indoor use only. The charger should be disconnected from the mains when not in use. Do not plug in the charger in case of damaged cabinet or power plug. Via the menu system it’s also possible to adjust all the parameters, to switch data recording ON/OFF, to choose the desired display during the work and to transfer the recorded data to a PC for further analysis in an easy and simple way using the software package. When the device is connected to a PC, it is possible to do the software adjustments, to memorize and to follow the complete work on the Swim Ergo in the REMOTE mode 16 Main characteristic • Graphic display • Rechargeable battery with about 15 hours of autonomy • Navigate the functions using menus • Display options including graphical or numerical data • Time, Stroke rate, Power, Force, Pulling length, Speed, /200m, /500m, Distance • Choose from a variety of units - Power (W), Force (N), Pulling length [cm] or Speed [km/h] - to be displayed with bigger fonts in the middle of the display. Switch between the units during a workout using UP/DOWN buttons • Pre-programming the workouts with time, distance, rest time and pace • Store workout data on the board memory or just work without recording • Recall function • Memory status • Battery status • PC USB port interface • Real time monitoring on the performance monitor or PC 17 Adjustment of resistance The unlimited range of resistance is given through air displacement turbine which simulates water fluid dynamics. This air-braking system allows the using of The Swim ERGOMETER independent of age or fitness-level. The load is regulated by the pulling effort. There is additional mechanism for regulation of the fly while drag. The lever regulates the flow air entering the flywheel. By increasing the aperture the flow of air and the resistance is increased. For most exercise and training situations the sportsman will only need to apply the air-braking system. Performance Display monitor menu structure Monitor Training can be monitored in this mode. There are six modes available with main big value displayed: • power (Watt) • stroke length (cm) • speed (km/h) • time /200m • time /500m • force (N) You can scroll round the Text Modes using the UP/DOWN keys on the monitor. 18 Power Speed Length Force 19 Workout Last workout – this repeats the last workout completed Standard – offers a choice of six pre programmed workouts • 200 m • 500 m • 1000 m • 10000 m • 30 minutes • 60 minutes ReRide – enables you to race against a previous workout Custom – allow you to select from your own workouts, which can be created in New workout New workout – enables you to define your custom workout New workout can be defined with time or with distance. 20 Recall Press ENTER - Each training session can be reviewed in Text Mode and pre-defined split intervals can be set in Set split. The split intervals can be set in increments of 1 minute within a range of 1-250 minutes. When you enter Text mode use the UP/DOWN keys on the console to scroll through saved sessions and ENTER to select and display it. In selected session pressing the UP/DOWN buttons will allow you to scroll through the pre-defined split intervals within each session Press ENTER - In Setup you can setup Memory, HR, Device and see monitor properties. Use the UP/DOWN keys on the console to scroll through the displays and ENTER to select an option. 21 Memory In memory menu you can Delete memory and also change the Sample rate per second. You can turn off Sample rate (sessions will not be saved) or select 25 samples, 50 samples, 100 samples per second. The Computer Console is equipped with 2 Mb internal memories which have the capacity to store 58 minutes of data with a resolution of 100 samples per second. It is possible to increase the console’s storage capacity by reducing the sample rate to 50 or 25 samples per second. Device In this menu you can select device type (Kayak or Canoe). If device is set to Canoe there is additional menu option Side, which allows you to select side of stroking. Properties This menu allows you to see monitor properties 22 Device Memory capacity Data recorded during a session is stored in the Main memory. Its capacity depends on the sampling rate (table below). The Memory indicator in the Status bar shows memory status. This data can be transferred to PC for further analyze in Expert Software.
