Contract, temporary, hourly and other categories of employees are entitled to benefits as specified in writing. - Medical insurance: The MAA offers 3 health plans through AMHIC: 1.) Kaiser HMO 2.) PPO 3.) Network Only. The MAA pays a percentage of the monthly premium based on plan and level of coverage. Enrollment is 1 st of the month following hire date. Employees pay monthly the first $10 plus 50% for dependents. MAA pays the remainder. Enrollment is 1st of the month following hire date. Enrollment is 1st of the month following hire date. - Retirement Plan Contribution: MAA’s retirement plan is administered by Voya. The MAA contributes 5% of salary vested on a 5-year sliding scheduled based on employment date. Employees are automatically enrolled at 2%. The MAA will match employee contributions up to 2.5%. Employee deferrals and MAA match are immediately vested at 100%. Employees may make tax-deferred contributions to the plan up to the IRS allowable amount annually. - Paid holidays: Fourteen paid holidays, if not needed for unscheduled closings. (Inclusive of holiday week between Christmas and New Year’s). - Personal Leave (for employees working 40 hours per week, pro-rated for 30 – 39 hours per week) o (non-Director): Month 1 – Month 36 of employment: 15 days of personal leave per year (accrue 4.62 hours per pay period) Month 37 – Month 108 of employment: 20 days of personal leave per year (accrue 6.15 hours per pay period) Month 109+ of employment: 25 days of personal leave per year (accrue 7.69 hours per pay period) o (Executive Director, Associate Directors and Directors): Month 1+ of employment: 25 days of personal leave per year (accrue 7.69 hours per pay period) - Sick Leave: Sick leave for all staff is accrued at one day per month. This accrual benefit rolls over year to year. - EAP: MAA pays 100% of the cost for an Employee Assistance Program which provides counseling services for matters such as financial, drug or alcohol abuse, depression, work-family balance, grief. - STD/LTD: MAA pays 100% of the cost of short-term and long-term disability insurance for full-time employees. STD insurance provides partial salary continuation (60%) for up to 13 weeks for employees who become disabled by an injury, illness, or pregnancy. LTD insurance provides partial salary continuation (60%) after 13 weeks. Coverage is effective after 90 days of employment. - Life Insurance: MAA provides a life insurance policy for full-time employees equal to twice their salary up to $100,000 at no cost for employees. Per IRS, all life insurance in excess of $50,000 is a taxable benefit. Coverage is effective on date of hire. - Tuition Assistance and Professional Development Support: Subject to specific requirements, availability of funds, and preapproval, the MAA provides tuition assistance and professional development programs. - Flexible Spending Account Program: FSA program for medical and/or dependent care expenses on a pre-tax basis through ConnectYourCare. - Wellness Benefit: Annually, MAA will reimburse employees up to $350 for allowable expenses toward wellness initiatives. - SmartBenefits Program: Pre-tax payroll deduction for public transportation, van pool expenses and/or for parking at a Metro station. Those wishing to take advantage of this program should apply for a SmartBenefits card through the DC Metro website. Parking is available for $125/month (based on availability). - Credit Union: Membership in NASA Federal Credit Union.
