“New evolution with high density cooling solutions by CITEC”
CITEC INTEGRATED RACK
INTRODUCTION
Nowadays, the cooling of computer and telecommunication equipment
rooms is becoming a major challenge because of the increasing
compactness of data processing equipment.
While the industry struggles to address various of these problems and
others, Citec’s has designed Citec Integrated Rack (CIR) as a new
evolution of cooling solutions for data centers worldwide.
This rack leads the way in thermal management and allows companies to:
• Fully populate server racks and increase power density with
significantly improving energy efficiency.
• Decrease power costs.
• Revolutionize how data centers are designed, built, and operated.
• Increase the computing power in data centers.
• Decrease server failure due to heat damage.
With High Density Heat Containment (HDHC) technology, data centers
can be utilized or built in a substantially more efficient manner to save
upfront costs and reducing operating costs.
FEATURES
• Fan integrated for easy installation and deployment
• Pressure transmitter to monitor real time differential air pressure
• NTC temperature sensors to monitor real time both inlet and outlet air
temperature
• Auto reset thermal overload protection on fan motor and power supply
• Remote ON/OFF switch (optional)
• Ducting (optional)
• Alarm notification

“Contain the heat and improve the data center efficiency”
HOW IT WORKS
Hot air goes back
to cooling unit
Fan ensure hot air
being extracted out of
the rack effectively.

Solid rear panel
Cold air
Raised floor
The heat containment utilizes a physical barrier to contain
the IT equipment heat and provide a predictable pathway for
its return to the data center cooling units. The cool air is
delivered to the IT equipment through the raised floor
perforated tiles. Heated exhaust air from the IT equipment
can be removed from the rear of the rack using high flow
low power fans. The air is then ducted to the ceiling plenum
for return to the cooling units. In this arrangement, the
maximum amount of cool air will be available to the IT
equipment load while all waste heat is contained and return
to the cooling units.
BENEFITS OF HDHC
SYSTEM
• No hot aisle, the whole data center is cold
• Higher return air temperature to Precision Air
Conditioner (PAC), increase PAC cooling
capacity
• Smaller PAC models can be used to provide
cost saving and energy efficiency
• No cold spot because of supply air is at design
rack inlet air
• Consistent temperature at rack intake from
bottom to top
• Lower RH return air improve sensible heat ratio
“Designed to fulfill the requirements of modern day high density data center”
ADVANTAGES
• To boost data centre reliability
• Optimize current cooling infrastructure
• Reduce or eliminate PAC over-provisioning by providing physical
separation of cool supply and hot return air streams
• Restore PAC capacity for needed IT equipment loads by eliminating air
recirculation and by pass
• Round the clock operation with full performance
• Redundancy fan design
