Background
•
Vietnam is a developing country with 92 million inhabitants - The 13th most populated country in the word.
•
With GDP per capita of ~1.900 USD (2014) and around 70% of the population are living on agriculture,
Vietnam’s labor productivity levels are still very low.
•
In order to avoid the middle income trap, increase living standards and participate in the global supply chain,
Vietnam urgently has to implement advanced technologies and improve the efficiency of the economy.
•
The High Technology Association was established in 2011 as a non-profit organization of individuals,
institutions and companies who wish to support Vietnam’s economy through the implementation of
advanced technologies.
•
The Association is based in Ho Chi Minh City (population of 10 million), the economic center of Vietnam.
Who we are

The founders of the Association are top businessmen, scientists and former politicians who are
actively involved in business, technology and education. .
•
Among the association members are more than 10 of the country’s biggest Hi-tech and Software
Parks, Industrial Parks, Universities and Technological Centers.
•
The Association has high level networking in different key sectors of the Vietnamese economy and
the political system.
