Many people are surprised to learn that foreign particles in water can cause corrosion and can clog household pipes,
leading to the growth of mould and bacteria that can threaten the health of your family. These foreign particles and
contaminants can enter the pipework in a number of ways - during pipe maintenance or replacement works, ageing pipe
corrosion, or simply due to environmental factors. A Cillit mains water backwash filter will remove sediment and improve
the service life of your plumbing fixtures and fittings, and can dramatically improve the quality of your household water.
Why should we
install a Cillit water
protection filter?
Cillit filters will significantly reduce the existence of
foreign particles and contaminants that can cause:
• Taps, valves and shower heads to be clogged or
damaged by foreign particle build up. Resulting in
a decrease in water pressure.
• Damage to gaskets and seals.
• Pipe corrosion due to particle build up. And at
worst, breaks and splits in the pipework.
• Clogged pipes resulting in an ideal home
for the growth of mould and bacteria.
An added advantage of Cillit filters is that they do
not require constant filter cartridge replacement.
How it works
1.Water enters the filter and flows through
the filter element.
2.The foreign particles are then retained in
the filter element.

3.The foreign particles are washed out of the filter
during the backwashing process. Backwashing
should be performed on a regular basis. This
involves simply turning the knob on the Eurofiltro
or setting the timer to automatically backwash
with the Multipur unit. The frequency will be
dependant on water quality. If you are uncertain,
backwash once per week.

Backwash Filters
This range of filters is suitable for domestic, commercial and rainwater installations. The Eurofiltro and Multipur units
come complete with a 90/110 micron sediment filter and built-in dual check valve backflow prevention device. They are
suited to a range of applications including domestic water supply, commercial use and high rise buildings, industrial,
irrigation, food preparation areas and beverage equipment as a pre-filter.
