Description
VCC offers Drafting Certificates in the following specialties:
 Architectural
 Architectural, Civil, Structural
 Steel Detailing
Upon completion of a 10 month Drafting Certificate in one of the above specialties, a VCC diploma
may be earned by completing a second drafting specialty (Term 2 and Term 3).

Admission Requirements



Grade 12 graduation
English proficiency requirement:
- English 12 with a C or higher, or
- IELTS 6.5 (With no band less than 6.0), or
- TOEFL 80 (Listening 20, Speaking 20, Reading 20, Writing 20), or
- Canadian Language Benchmark Placement Test: Listening 8, Speaking 7, Reading 8, Writing 7
Math 11 with a C or higher (Trigonometry and Algebra recommended)

learn computer aided drafting and are introduced to specialty areas of drafting.

Graduates may find work as drafters in different environments within the Engineering industry.
Areas include consulting engineers, fabrication shops, manufacturing companies. Other areas may
include mining, forestry, pulp and paper, oil and gas, environmental, water treatment, architectural,
municipal and project management.
