All Part Wind Starters will be warranted to be free from defects in material and workmanship for a period of 2 years. Part Winding Starters
PWS Series
North American Electric, Inc. PWS Series starters consist of two ATL starters and a timer.
The first starter is used to connect one winding of a part wound type motor across the line,
which will require approximately 50% of the starting current than starting a typical motor
across the line. The second starter will come on after a timed delay so that the motor will
be capable of handling its full rated load.

The Complete Package
The NASD series of soft starters has been designed for the customer who needs something easy to obtain,
easy to install, easy to program, easy to budget, able to stand the test of time. NAE carries inventory of these
units in the most popular HP ranges in multiple warehouses so that whenever you need a soft starter, you
can get one quickly. In most cases, we will be able to ship the same day as ordered. The NASD comes as a
complete package and even includes the lugs so that all that should be required for most installations is
connecting input and output cables. The keypad display allows you to program and monitor in simple
English text. That means no codes to look up or remember. Available as NEMA-4 or 4X outdoor duty rated
enclosure with a protective cover for the keypad display along with NEMA-4X rated pilot devices. We at NAE
realize that even the best made product needs a rainy day plan so when that day comes, and if Murphy has
anything to do with it that day will usually come on 3rd shift, you have the capability of simply switching from
soft start to ATL mode to keep production going until the problem can be fixed. The fact that the NASD has
only two boards and that the control board is the same throughout the entire series doesn’t hurt either. We
do these things so that you can have peace of mind, regardless of how demanding your operating
conditions might be.
