Westek’s R1495R Rugged 1U NAS or iSCSI appliance is designed for use in high and low temperature environments and in high humidity (with Westeks conformal coating option). Westek’s range of Rugged Servers are
ideal for use in hostile environments including military COTS use where space is at a premium.
The NAS is designed to comply with relevant parts of MIL-STD-810F and MIL-STD 461 and similar environment
and EMC specifications for use in aircraft, mobile or fixed land based systems, transportation and naval environments below decks as well as general use where a compact rugged system is required without the need for full
rugged MIL connectors.
The R1495R is powered by the latest generation high performance Intel multi core processor in a compact rugged 1U low depth chassis, with automatic temperature dependent fan control system and up to 4 removable disk
drives.

An automatic electronic temperature dependant fan speed control ensures high airflow at elevated operating
temperatures and extend long term reliability. Multiple fans also ensure high airflow from front to rear.
The internal disk carriers are shock mounted. The removable disk carriers are protected by a rugged front door
and front dust filtering protects from environmental contamination. Conformal coating of the electronics is available as an options for high humidity environments.
The R1495R is finished with a black front panel as standard. Other finishes are available as options. Westek
also offers a full range of military specification test and verification services to provide independent fully certified
testing to environmental standards.

Options for up to 4 removable 2.5” form factor 9.5mm thick vibration tolerant high endurance hard disks or
SSD, or 2 removable 2.5” form factor 15mm thick SSD or HDD (build option) with optional RAID 0, 1, 5 or 10
data protection. Optional rear access USB port may also be used to connect temporary additional storage
such as external disk or CD/DVD.
