Ampletek premolded separable cable connectors
AZT-24kV, 250 A (Elbow)
AST-24kV, 250A (Straight)
Premolded connectors are for EPR- and XPLE-insulated 1- or 3-core
cables with aluminium or copper conductor for 12kV. The connector can
be used for both indoor and outdoor applictions. Type tested according to
IEC-60502-4.
1. Designed for polymeric insulated cables
It can be installed on XPLE insulated cables.
2. Earth connection
The conductive layer is connected to the system earth by copper wire. The wire can temporarily be
removed from earth, which makes it possible to perform cable sheath tests without disconnecting
the connector from bushing.

Made of stainless steel, to make sure the installation reliable.
4. Cable lug
Clamped type. The cable lug is made of copper-aluminium alloy. It can be installed on aluminium
as well as copper conductors.
7. Elbow connector (Insulating layer)
High electrical strength. The elasticity of the material ensures active pressure on all interfaces.
Premolded with inner and the outer conductive layer. Electrical properties are ensured by routine
test.

10. Linking rod
It is used for combinating the transformer.
Design
AZT and AZC are manufactured in rubber with three layers; a conductive inner layer,
an insulation layer and a conductive outer layer, that are vulcanized together for the
best possibe interface between the layers. The cable connectors include an intergrated
earthing wire.

lugs, bolt Connection and stress grading adapter,
designed to ensure a reliable installation.
Note
- For 3-core cables with common Cu-screen wires, a screen separation kit or a branch
seal kit must be used. To be ordered separately.
