trenching unit (patent application
no 1401475.7) comes in three
parts (see figure 1); base and two
side panels. This allows for the
350mm deep trench unit to be
assembled at the desired width,
up to a maximum of 1220mm,
drastically reducing the space
required for both transport and
site storage. Manufactured from
SMC (Sheet Mould Compound),
the new system benefits from all
the qualities of lightweight GRP.

Installation
Installation time can be expected
to be in the region of one fifth
of the time needed for pre-cast
concrete installations. The units
can be easily cut on site and
adapted in-situ to suit specific
site conditions or changes.
Lightweight
The units are considerably lighter
than the concrete equivalents.
They are easy to handle and
manually installed negating the
need for heavy lifting equipment,
providing a lightweight and
maintenance free solution.
Strong & Robust
Fibertrench is one of the strongest
composite service protection
systems available in the market
place. High load capacity GRP
mesh covers provide extra
strength for vehicle crossing
points.
Fibertrench does not break.
The units are made from a GRP
material that is more durable than
concrete. There is no danger
of breakage from logistic and
stocking processes.
Hard Wearing & Extremely
Durable
Fibertrench is resistant to all
forms of effluents including
salts, petrol and diesel. The
system is non-conductive
and non-corrosive.
Speed of Reinstatement
Fibertrench can be installed,
reinstated and immediately
trafficked. This saves both
time and money.
Cost Savings
The product is quicker and easier
to install with the major benefit
that the service area can be
opened much faster, so reducing
costs.
Production
Mechanically produced,
offering shorter lead times and
standardisation of units, it offers
consistent quality at a lower cost.
