Illustration PA 01 A 120 ManualSensitivity Adjustm ent N/A 45 m Maximum sensitivity can be used for most appl ications and is advised for appl ications with contaminated environments e.g.dirt,water and dust.Increase the sensitivity to maximum by turning the potentiometer to ful lcl ockwise position. PA 01 B/C Sensitivity adj ustment may be required in appl ications where obj ects to be detected are smal l or transl ucent.Proceed with the fol l owing steps: PA 01 B PA 01 C Connection 1 Begin with turning the potentiometer to MAN position.Manualsensitivity adj ustment mode has now been sel ected. 2 Increase the sensitivity to maximum by turning the potentiometer to ful lcl ockwise position. 3 Check there is no obj ect present interrupting the beam and the sensor pair is correctl y al igned and within their specified sensing range. 4 Sel ect target obj ect with smal l est dimensions and most transl ucent surface. 5 Pl ace target obj ect between remote transmitter and receiver sensors. If the output status changes, adj ustment is not required. If the output status has not changed proceed to step 6. 6 Decrease the sensitivity by turning the potentiometer counter cl ockwise untilthe output is activated. 7 Remove target obj ect.Observe the output status has changed. W iring Diagram s If the signall evelis l ow,the green LED (signalstatus)wil lfl ash sl owl y.In general ,it is recommended to increase the sensitivity til lthe LED goes on and to check the fol l owing: Al ignment of sensors Transmitter and receiver sensors are within sensing range Sensor heads are not excessivel y contaminated Transistor output — PA 01 X 61X PA 01 A/B/C Autom atic Sensitivity Adjustm ent - Teach-In Automatic sensitivity can be used in appl ications where changes in the environment occur e.g. change of ambient l ight or moderate contamination. This adj ustment must not be used in appl ications where the environment is very contaminated. 1 Observe that no obj ect is between remote transmitter and receiver sensors. 2 For PA 01 A proceed to step 3 For PA 01 B/C turn the potentiometer to ful lcounter cl ockwise position to AUTO and proceed to step 3. 3 Push the RESET / TEST button to initiate teach-in.The green LED wil lfl ash when automatic adj ustment is in progress. 4 W hen the automatic adj ustment has compl eted, the green LED wil lbe stabl e.The system is now adj usted for optimaldetection. 5 Move an obj ect in and out of the detection area.Observe on the yel l ow LED that the output changes correctl y (refer to Output Logic tabl e). 6 For a new adj ustment, push the RESET / TEST button to initiate teach-in. Rel ay output — PA 01 X 51X Connection Steps 1 Check the power suppl y and output of the ampl ifier type. 2 Make sure power is off.Connect wires to the 11-pin socket according to wiring diagram. 3 Pl ug-in the ampl ifier into the 11-pin socket.Turn power on. 4 W hen the ampl ifier is operating, the green (signalstatus)LED is on. If a severe disturbance occurs, the green LED (signalstatus)wil lfl ash quickl y.
