COBBLESTONE KITCHENS Gingerbread House Kit I N S T R U C T I O N S FRONT WALL BACK WALL ROOF ROOF READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY BEFORE YOU BEGIN 2 SIDE WALLS To make the gingerbread house, you will need a base (cutting board or cookie sheet), an electric mixer, a mixing bowl, measuring spoons, and a spatula or spoon. Gently separate 2 side wall pieces where they are joined, if necessary. TIP: If you have any broken gingerbread 1. pieces, repair with icing. 1 Making the Icing (used to put the house together, and for decorating house and yard) • Empty the Royal icing mix into a mixing bowl, and add 4 tablespoons of warm tap water. • Mix at low speed with electric mixer for 1 minute, then at medium-high speed for another 2 to 3 minutes. The Royal Icing should be thick and creamy. If your icing is too thick, add water (1 teaspoon) at a time. If your icing is too thin, add confectioners sugar (1 tablespoon) at a time, until your icing is the right consistency. • Keep the bowl of icing covered with a damp cloth at all times, so it doesn’t dry out. 2 3. Get Icing Decorator Bag Ready For Use • Cut approximately 1/2 inch (1.2 cm) off tip of decorator bag (#1) and insert star shaped plastic decorator tip. (#2) • Fill bag half full with icing mixture using a spatula or spoon. (#3) • Twist bag at the top to move the icing into the icing tip, and secure with a twist tie. (#4) You can cover your base with aluminum foil, if you want. 3 2. 4.
