Lincoln VUL Dollar Cost Averaging Fixed Account Enhanced Interest Rate

Program – Extended

Lincoln is pleased to extend the VUL Dollar Cost Averaging Fixed Account Enhanced Interest Rate Program. This program includes a 10% Fixed Account enhanced current interest rate to help with short-term returns while the client transfers funds into variable investment options using a 12-month Dollar Cost Averaging (DCA) program. This annual effective rate is paid on the declining balance in the Fixed Account so the amount of interest earned will be less. These fixed rates do not reflect performance of the variable investment options selected by the client.

The DCA Fixed Account Enhanced Interest Rate program is available on:

• New Lincoln VUL applications signed up to and including June 30, 2016 – Applications must be received by

July 14, 2016.

• The enhanced program applies to all currently available Lincoln VUL products, except in New York where it is only available on Lincoln AssetEdge ® VUL (2015) .

For complete details on the program eligibility and how to apply, click here to view the comprehensive Q&A document.

Reminder:

• There is a minimum DCA transfer amount based on premiums directed to the Fixed Account during the DCA period, including modal, lump sum and 1035 premiums. Also, large unplanned subsequent payments may require an increased transfer amount. The minimum DCA transfer amount is the greater of $50 or 5% of premiums for monthly transfers and $150 or 15% of premiums for quarterly transfers.

• The initial premium payment must be sufficient to cover policy charges and fund the DCA transfer amount or the DCA Program will terminate and may not be reinstated.

• If there is an external 1035 Exchange , it is critical that enough money is received with the application in order to process DCA. If there is a delay in receiving funds from the 1035 Exchange such that the DCA Fixed Account runs out of money, DCA will terminate and may not be reinstated.

Bank Owned Life Insurance Product Update

As a committed partner and industry leader, it’s important to Lincoln to openly communicate all actions we take that relate to our industry, our partners or policyholders. Earlier this week Lincoln communicated to our brokers in the

Executive Benefits space an increase of current cost of insurance (COI) rates on some Universal Life Bank Owned Life

Insurance (general account) policies issued prior to 2007. While it is unlikely that these changes impact our partners in the

Individual Life market, we are sharing this information to ensure transparency.

For 110 years, Lincoln Financial Group has fulfilled the long-term promises we’ve made to our partners’ clients, including the banks that rely on us for funding solutions for executive benefit plans. Prudent management of our business, including ongoing and thorough reviews, and adapting to conditions has been core to this track record, remains so and will continue to remain so to uphold future responsibilities. In light of the current economic and market environment, these particular Bank Owned Life Insurance policies necessitate a change based on current expectations of future costs associated with providing this coverage.

These changes are made following an in-depth actuarial analysis along with a rigorous review process and thoughtful consideration of their impact on our distribution partners and policyholders. The change enables us to continue to provide this competitive coverage with financial integrity.
