Leg Brace Mechanism
Leg braces shall be constructed of at least 7/8” wide x .125” thick, edge-radiused steel. Braces made of less than
11 gauge steel are not acceptable. For safety, braces shall lock automatically and remain locked when the table is
in any position during folding and unfolding. Braces shall be designed and constructed to resist wear from frequent
operation that could prevent the brace from locking the leg securely in place. Spring actuated devices with casehardened steel poppits are preferred. The leg brace pivot bracket shall be secured to the table top using a minimum
of eight fasteners.

be capped at the bottom with load bearing, high impact, plastic glides, secured with spring steel internal grippers.
No horizontal members shall be positioned less than 12” from the floor to facilitate floor cleaning. For stability, no
wishbone style leg assembly shall have an offset in the leg greater than five inches. Specialty shaped tables and
round tables 36” or less in diameter are furnished with independent folding legs of 1-1/16” diameter, 14 gauge steel
tubing or a combination of independent and wishbone legs. Comfort Leg assemblies shall be constructed of 1¼”
diameter steel tubing and shall provide a minimum of 9“of free knee space on 18” wide tables.

Top Support Structure
Two hardwood supports, measuring 1” x 1¾”, shall be secured to the top with
bolts running through the top and counter-sunk into the wood supports. Bolt
heads shall have heads that fit flush with the top.

Tops shall be constructed of solid, ¾” thick, AC grade, 7 ply, exterior glue plywood. The top surface is to be finished with a walnut sealer stain. Edges are
to be protected by an 18 gauge, galvanized steel angle that shall be secured
with screws from the underside of the table top and placed at intervals not to
exceed 10”. Edging must fit flush with the table top.

Top Support Frame
Table tops shall be supported by a 16 gauge formed steel channel frame at least 1-13/16” deep. The channel shall
form a continuous frame having square corners and welded joints. Frames shall be secured to the table top with
screws placed no greater than 10” apart.

Optional PermaTuff Edge: Tops shall be constructed of solid, ¾” thick, AC
grade, exterior glue plywood, surfaced with high pressure plastic laminate and
are to be backed with a phenolic sheet to prevent moisture penetration. Edges
of tops shall be protected with a polyurethane epoxy resin, chemically bonded
to the edges of the plastic laminate, core material and backing sheet.

Tops shall be constructed of solid, 3/4” thick, AC grade, 7 ply, exterior glue plywood, surfaced with high pressure plastic laminate and are to be backed with a
phenolic sheet to prevent moisture penetration. Tops are to be edged with vinyl
T molding having a thickness of at least 3/16”. The T molding shall be secured
against removal by the use of staples at regular intervals on the under side of
the table top.

Top
Tops shall be constructed of an aircraft grade, honeycomb structural core of
polypropylene plastic. Cells within the core shall not exceed ¼” spacing to
ensure uniform support to the top surface. The exterior surfaces of the table
shall be constructed of thermoformed, ABS plastic material, permanently
bonded to the honeycomb core with epoxy adhesive. Edges of the table top
are protected against impact with a profile extrusion of high-impact, PVC plastic molding that interlocks with and is permanently bonded to the ABS exterior
of the table with epoxy adhesive. The molding shall incorporate a 5/32” thick
bumper edge, backed by a tubular shaped, impact-absorbing reinforcement.
There shall be no less than five layers of plastic to protect the edges of the table top. Corners of rectangular models
are protected with rib reinforced, injection molded, PVC plastic sections that interlock with the edge molding.
No wood products shall be used in the construction of table tops.

Top and Frame

exterior glue plywood protected with a sealer stain. Top edges are to
be protected by a 16 gauge, formed steel angle at each end. A frame,
consisting of a 16 gauge, steel U channel, 1” wide x 1-1/8” high, must
incorporate a protective edging for the plywood as an integral part of
the table frame. The frame is to be securely riveted to the plywood
top with flat head rivets to provide support for the top and a smooth
runner, which facilitate stacking of folded tables.
