Holcim (Australia) Pty Ltd gives the warranties provided in clauses 30 and 31 of its standard terms of sale. It is the responsibility of the customer to ensure that the pre-mixed concrete ordered by the customer is appropriate for the intended application and environmental conditions. Please refer to

Safe Site Delivery
Holcim (Australia) Pty Ltd values the safety of our people. It is the responsibility of the customer to ensure that the delivery site provides a safe access and that hazards (including overhead) are adequately controlled. The customer is required to provide a spotter(s) where reversing of the concrete truck is required to deliver to site. Contractors are also required to ensure pump operators follow the practices outlined in the Queensland
Department of Industrial Relations – Concrete Pumping Code of Practice. Should these not be provided, Holcim (Australia) Pty Ltd may refuse to discharge and we reserve the right to re-coup all associated costs.
Raw Material Changes
Supply of raw materials is subject to their availability and where required may vary without notice from submitted mix designs. Holcim (Australia) Pty
Ltd will ensure the performance characteristics of the concrete will comply as close as permissible to the relevant specification and performance standards.
Recycled Water
Holcim (Australia) Pty Ltd utilises recycled water as part of our environmental policy and Water Efficiency Management Plans. Potable water may be supplemented with recycled, bore and/or scheme water. Concrete required using potable water must be specifically requested
Placement of Concrete
Holcim (Australia) Pty Ltd mix designs are of suitable cohesiveness and resist to segregation when placed at the specified design slump and the concrete is not over-vibrated. Holcim (Australia) Pty Ltd offer is based on supplying mixes that comply with the specification in terms of performance and durability and is not responsible for the method of placement, compaction or the finish achieved. Consideration needs to be given to these factors at design stage. Placement time is influenced by many factors other than rate of concrete supply to the jobsite. The Holcim
(Australia) Pty Ltd offer is on the basis that Holcim (Australia) Pty Ltd is not commercially disadvantaged by factors outside its control.
Concrete cracking
Cracking in concrete is due to a number of different causes. Holcim (Australia) Pty Ltd takes all reasonable measures to minimise concrete cracking and has no control over the placement, finishing and curing of the concrete. Holcim (Australia) Pty Ltd is not responsible for rectification or subsequent costs due to cracks in concrete. The customer is responsible for ensuring that the concrete is placed in accordance with practices recognised to reduce concrete cracking.
Water addition on site
Holcim (Australia) Pty Ltd personnel may add water to concrete for the purpose of adjusting slump and are the responsibility of Holcim (Australia) Pty
Ltd. Water requested to be added to the load by the customer or their on-site representative will be recorded on the delivery docket and the performance of the concrete is no longer warranted.
Exposed or coloured concrete
Holcim (Australia) Pty Ltd will endeavour to supply pre-mixed concrete of the colour requested by the customer however cannot guarantee the shade of colour nor its consistency from load to load. The raw materials used to make Holcim Concept™ ranges are natural products and therefore subject to variation in consistency, appearance, quality and texture. No guarantee of the product’s coloured or textured finish is given or implied.
Orders for coloured concrete require a minimum of 72 hours’ notice prior to delivery.
Watertight concrete or Other Special Additives
Where an additive is added to pre-mixed concrete at the customer’s request, the concrete shall be deemed to be Special-Class Prescription Concrete as described in clause 1.8.1(b) of AS1379-1997. Holcim (Australia) Pty Ltd gives no warranty in relation to the performance of such concrete. Any performance assurance must be obtained from the supplier of the additive.
Supply Agreements and Specifications
The prices quoted are subject to Holcim (Australia) Pty Ltd standard terms of sale. The rates quoted are based on the information provided, except to the extent they are inconsistent with that information and Holcim (Australia) Pty Ltd standard terms of sale. Holcim (Australia) Pty Ltd reserves the right to revise those rates should any of the foregoing change.
Post tensioned concrete
The early age compressive strength for post tensioned pre-mixed concrete will be determined in accordance with the current issue of AS3600 with concrete test samples being stored under standard curing conditions in accordance with the current issue of AS1012.8. For samples which are tested other than in accordance with AS1012.8, additional charges will apply.
