This average tariff applies to United Kingdom (UK) Private Patients and Insurance Companies.
(N.B. Different prices are applied depending on the actual agreement with Insurance
Companies).
Overseas visitors are charged based on Payment by Results (PbR) tariff plus premium to cover
administration costs.

Separate charges will be made for Radiology, Diagnostic Procedure, Histology, Laboratory
Medicine, Pathology, Prosthesis, Specialist Nursing, certain Drugs, Physiotherapy and
Occupational Therapy.
Where two procedures are performed simultaneously, an additional 50% will be charged for the
second procedure.
Where three or more procedures are performed simultaneously, an additional 25% will be
charged for the subsequent procedures.
Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust reserves the right to increase charges without
prior notice.

Cancer Chemotherapy
For patients undergoing a course of treatment for cancer
which uses cytoxoc drugs, prophylaticantibodies or
hormonal agents, the Torbay and South Devon NHS
Foundation Trust will calculate a charge representing the
cost of the ingredients and the cost of preparing the
ingredients

If a patient requests personal amenities such as special food
as a day case, or additional nursing services not required on

On arrival at the Hospital for examination or treatment, a
private non-resident patient will be required to sign an
agreement undertaking to pay for the accommodation and/or
services afforded in accordance with the above scale of
charges. This agreement carries legal standing as a contract
between South Devon Healthcare and the private
non-resident patient.
