I.TECH Virtual Keyboard

Smart phones and PDAs offer an impressive amount of computing power. But in practical terms, they are not always easy to use. Writing long emails or other documents on minuscule keyboards or with handwriting recognition software can sometimes, quite literally, be a pain.

The I.TECH Virtual Keyboard (VKB) uses the latest infrared & laser technology to project a full-size keyboard onto any flat surface. Users can then type as normal on the VKB, enabling them to work quickly and effectively, taking the pain and frustration out of minuscule keyboards and handwriting recognition software.

How does it work?

The VKB works by using infrared and laser technology to project a full-size

QWERTY keyboard onto any flat surface.

The virtual keyboard behaves exactly like a real one: direction technology based on optical recognition enables the user to tap the images of the keys, complete with realistic tapping sounds, which feeds into the compatible PDA,

Smartphone, laptop or PC.

Installation

Device specific instructions will be given with the product which will explain stepby-step, the sychronisation process necessary to move the driver software from your PC to the mobile device.

The user can then adjust the VKB settings according to his/her own preferences and is ready to use the VKB.

Settings

The following settings can be controlled either via the laptop/pc or a compatible

Smartphone/PDA

Sound: users can control keyboard sound effects (keyclicks)

Intensity: control the intensity of the projected keyboard

Connection: connection to the appropriate Laptop/PC port

Sensitivity: users can adjust the sensitivity of the infra-red keyboard

Timeouts: adjustable timeouts to conserve battery life

Auto-repeat: allows the system to automatically repeat a key based on prescribed parameters
