FROM THE PASTOR’S DESK:
“FOOD FOR ALL.” Thanks to all who have contributed so far to the Food for All Campaign. The
Archdiocese of Cincinnati is collecting 1 million food items in honor of Pope Francis’s visit to the United
States in September. All the food collected at Mother of Christ (and at St. Bernard’s) goes directly to the
MOC Food Pantry. We continue to request donations through the entire month of August.
ONE FAITH, ONE HOPE, ONE LOVE. As you know, Mother of Christ is participating in the capital
campaign of the Archdiocese of Cincinnati designed to build the future of the Catholic Church here. All are
asked to pledge a donation over the next five years to support Catholic education, retired priests, the
seminary, and outreach to the poor. Plus 20% of every dollar donated comes back to Mother of Christ for
our own parish’s use. So far we have received $41,100 in pledges. Thanks to all who have donated. I hope
every family will participate in this important campaign.
Fr. Bob Thesing
2015 Women’s Day of Renewal

Peace Center at 80 Compton Road. Cost $30 (includes lunch and refreshments). Make reservations by
calling Rita Carmosino 513-574-2408.
CANA II
The Cana II Teams in the Dayton and Northern areas of the archdiocese are searching for couples who are
presently living in successful second marriages to participate in this ministry. This marriage preparation
ministry is an excellent resource for couples preparing to enter into this unique marriage situation. It is
powerful because the couples on these teams are honest about the marriage situation they are planning to
enter and they are sincerely supportive to the couples who attend this program. Topics covered are:
Forgiveness (of self and past relationships); Family of Origin, Conflict resolution, Communication,
Sacrament of Marriage, Intimacy & Sexuality, Remarriage Concerns: Step-Family issues, and Finances as
they pertain to a second marriage. The time commitment to this ministry is 2-3 meetings in preparation for
the scheduled Cana II and two Cana II Saturdays per year.
If you would like to participate in this ministry please contact Noreen Wendeln @ 937-222-0227 or by
email: nwendeln@catholiccincinnati.org.
