The BSIA has made a clear commitment to quality. The BSIA was the first trade association to achieve registration to the quality management series ISO 9000.

Adams Rite were the originators of the swing bolt mechanism, developed to cope with locking narrow stile aluminium doors, which remains the
main method of locking on the vast majority of commercial aluminium doors. This is just one example of the technical advancements we have

We have been in the forefront for many years not only because of our wide

Main Locking
A range of main locking and ancillary products suitable for most timber,
aluminium and hollow steel doors. The range includes the MS® Package, a

convenience of the electromagnetic lock with the strength of a
mechanical lock, all in a compact size.

Testing
SAFEGUARD SECURITY DOORS have been successfully, independently, tested
in accordance with Loss Prevention Certificate Board - LPS 1175 levels 3 &
4. This achieves the highest level of security for timber composite doors as
specified by leading insurance companies and also meets British Government
requirements for SEAP Levels 2 & 3. Furthermore the doors are fire rated to
1 hour meeting the European Standard BS EN 1634-1.
SAFEGUARD BULLET RESISTANT DOORS and frames have been independently
tested to the European Standard BS EN 1523 (up to level FB6(s).
SAFEGUARD BLAST DOORS have been tested by Cranfield Ordnance Test &
Evaluation Centre at West Lavington and were proven to offer considerable
protection against explosive blast properties and fragmentation typically
associated with the use of explosive devices by criminals and terrorists.

High tensile wires, spaced at a distance of 95mm apart, carry a high voltage
pulse down alternate wires every second. The wires alternate between live
and earth and to ensure absolute security, a controller continuously monitors

Electric fence controllers have an impeccable safety record. The high voltage
pulse is less than one thousandth of a second in duration. All controllers
have been manufactured to exceed European standards: BS EN 60335-2-76.

at the Definitive Event
May 2003 marks IFSEC's thirtieth year and despite the obvious comparisons that
can be made between what IFSEC has become and its humble beginnings in a West London
hotel, this landmark stands as a greater testament.
As one of IFSEC's traditional components, the CCTV Village provides
the focal point of the global CCTV industry for many years, and was
the world's largest IP showcase in 2002. This year's event continues
this trend, expanding into the broader implications of IP technology
in this key market place. There is also a dedicated CCTV day at the
adjoining IFSEC Conference organised by the British Security
Industry Association.
Once again, with the backing of the Association for Biometrics, the
Biometrics Village forms another key part of the show. It incorporates the
Biometrics Advice Zone, presenting visitors with the chance to ask ad hoc
questions to experts from the AfB and seek advice from exhibitors
specialising in this field. In addition to this feature, there is a dedicated
Biometrics day in the neighbouring IFSEC conference.
IFSEC and Security Solutions take place each May at the NEC Birmingham.
The events adjoin International Fire Expo, Safety & Health Expo and ACPO

PSICON is designed for use on walls and rigid railings. It is the 'Black box'
integration of ultra-sensitive positional sensors (typically geophones) and the
I3 processor. It is successful in meeting the challenge of detecting intruders
whilst rejecting the background environmental 'noises' which continue to
plague other technologies in the applications.
This digital signal processing and alarm management system allows the
sensitive electronics to be housed in the security of the main control room,
rather than on the perimeter. CentrAlert exploits the benefits of Geoquip's
linear microphonic cable sensors to their greatest effect, but can also be
integrated with any sensor producing analogue or digital signals to bring the
benefits of high powered digital signal processing techniques to enhance and
optimise the performance of such sensors.
Rotaguard
The system consists of a series of curved vanes, each of which revolves
freely around a central shaft. This has been modified to integrate Geoquip's
Alpha cable sensor as another feature. The rotating vanes create an unstable
barrier which moves if anyone attempts to climb over it.

Due to increasing demand for systems which include a deterrent factor,

Memory supporting downloadable firmware allowing firmware enhancements

A biometrics version of the multiNODE 2100 is also available. This allows
unparalleled hardware integration with for example, a hand geometry or
fingerprint reader. Each multiNODE 2100 controller is capable of storing and
authenticating up to 150,000 templates locally.
The multiNODE 2100 controller supports a full range of reading technologies
including Magstripe, Smartcard, Proximity and Wiegand. A number of default
card formats are programmed as standard and there is the capability for
custom formats to be defined.
• AMAG Series 600 Proximity and Magnetic Stripe Readers feature
integral buzzer, local door pre-held alarm and two extra programmable
LEDs on keypads for use with card commands input through the keypad.
Unlike Wiegand interface readers, all AMAG S600 readers use supervised
20mA communications. Both the reader and cable are supervised, and
an alarm will occur if the reader is tampered with or communication is
lost. A distance from the multiNODE controller to the S600 reader of up
to 1000m can also be achieved. S600 Proximity readers have a variety of
read ranges and read HID cards. Magstripe readers utilize microMAX or
custom formats; track 1 as standard with track 2 as an option.
• AMAG Series 700 Smart Card Readers feature integral buzzer, local
door pre-held alarm and an LCD for verification of card accepted and of
card rejected. The LCD on the keypad models is also used for PIN prompt
and for verification of command functions initiated through the reader
keypad. Unlike Wiegand interface readers, all S700 readers use
supervised 20mA communications. Both the reader and cable are
supervised, and an alarm will occur if the reader is tampered with or
communication is lost. A distance from the multiNODE controller to the

every individual entering and leaving a facility, combined with fast-acting

Fastlane Optical Turnstile
Fastlane is a state of the art 'optical turnstile', which replaces the need for an
obtrusive physical barrier by utilising active infra-red beams to create an
invisible electronic field between two pedestals, monitoring the passage of
every individual entering and leaving a facility. Fastlane will alert the Security
staff to all unauthorised users or visitors without a valid pass by triggering an
audible alarm and controlling other security measures such as activating
CCTV systems and locking doors.
Fastlane's discreet presence offers unrivalled benefits in terms of aesthetic,

unauthorised entry the system will provide local and remote indications to
alert the individual concerned and security.
Additionally the system can lock doors and trigger cameras to monitor illegal
transactions and ensure events are recorded for later analysis. This ensures
only one person gains access for each valid card transaction thereby providing
improved security at any standard door where access control is employed.
