Reconcile is fully integrated with TrackRecord, Compuware’s change request management tool, and QADirector, Compuware’s test management solution. Working together, these products help you manage your project’s development from conception through delivery. Reconcile provides a flexible and easy-to-use requirements model. Pre-defined requirement types are available and easily modified by project. New requirements can be added and configured using Reconcile’s intuitive MS Word-based interface. With Reconcile, your team can immediately begin to implement — and benefit from — a structured requirements management process. Release 1.0 Features · Powerful Requirements Management · Traceability · Impact Analysis · Intuitive User Interface · Flexible Repository · Supports Multiple Databases · Provides Various Security Settings · Integration with TrackRecord and QADirector · Customizable Reports Reconcile 1.0 Requirements Management Reconcile provides the ability to create, crossreference, and communicate application requirements and their changes. It provides document, report, hierarchical, and Web-based access to the requirements. Reconcile’s powerful and flexible management abilities include: · Creating new requirements and importing existing requirements documents in MS Word · Defining and tracking new requirement types (defaults include business, functional, and testing requirements) · · Defining (and associating pre-defined) attributes and characteristics, such as priority and requirement source, to each requirement Tracking requirement changes and their impact, as well as tracking the status of each requirement. Intuitive User Interface Easy-to-use interface features make identifying and communicating requirements intuitive and efficient. Reconcile embeds icons within a document to represent project requirements, so you can locate and identify requirements at a glance. You can take advantage of a familiar browser interface when distributing project requirements. Reconcile automatically reports requirements by generating an internal Web site to publish the current set of requirements for each project. Each published document contains links to the details for each requirement, allowing team members to quickly access additional information. Figure 1: The Reconcile interface makes requirements easy to identify Flexible Repository Reconcile is delivered with MS Access but supports MS SQL Server databases. Anyone can use the repository at any point; administrators choose who can access the documents and what levels of permission they have. If preferred, you can store the Reconcile information in the QARun or QADirector database. Integrations Reconcile goes beyond basic requirement management by integrating requirement data with change request management (TrackRecord) and test management (QADirector) tools. This integration traces the requirements of the project through all activities in the project’s life, not just during the development effort. Release Announcement QADirector: The integration between QADirector and Reconcile helps ensure a quality process by validating tests against requirements, making sure original requirements were met. Test requirements created in Reconcile can be used to automatically generate or update a QADirector automated test suite. Pass and fail results from the test are synchronized with Reconcile. TrackRecord: Allows you to create a defect from within Reconcile and associate the defect with a specific requirement. Customizable Reports Reconcile provides hierarchical viewing and printing of requirements. You can also create new reports graphically. Tabular views of requirements can have sort/filter capabilities on each column/attribute. Among the many other test reports, Reconcile also provides requirements coverage reporting. All reports are saved in the database and can be published to the Web site. Reports saved with a filter or sort criteria applied will be published to the Web with that criteria in force.
