Solution Overview HP Server Solutions Note: This webpage describes nonvirtualized “appliance” support for HP servers. For virtualization support, refer to http://www.cisco.com/go/uc-virtualized. Cisco supports software applications from the Cisco® Unified Communications portfolio that install on specific configurations of customer-provided HP DL380-G6 and DL320-G5p servers. Available applications include: Cisco Unified Communications Manager, Cisco Emergency Responder, Cisco Unified Application Environment, Cisco Unity® meeting applications, Cisco Unity Connection, Cisco Unified Presence, Cisco Unified Mobility Advantage, Cisco Unified MeetingPlace® conferencing, Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Express, Cisco Unified Contact Center Express, Cisco Unified Contact Center Enterprise and Hosted, Cisco Unified Intelligent Contact Management Enterprise and Hosted, Cisco Unified Customer Voice Portal, Cisco Unified IP Interactive Voice Response (IP IVR), Cisco Unified Intelligence Center, Cisco Unified Intelligence Suite, Cisco Unified Web Interaction Manager, Cisco Unified E-Mail Interaction Manager, Cisco Unified Contact Center Management Portal, and Cisco Unified Expert Advisor. Cisco also supports the use of HP USB-attached tape drives as local backup devices. Refer to the “HP Tape Drives” section later in this document for details and ordering instructions. Customer-provided servers must exactly match the vendor, make, model, specifications, and parts lists in the configurations listed in the following sections to be supported. Deviations are not supported, and may result in an incomplete or failed install, or postinstallation problems. Customer-provided servers must also be on the certified hardware compatibility list for the intended software product and version. Where equivalent Cisco MCS 7800 Series Media Convergence Server model numbers are given, they should be interpreted as the configurations used by Cisco Unified Communications Manager. The same MCS model used for other applications (where the MCS model has a different suffix) may use different components and specifications. Contact your local Cisco account team for more details. Cisco no longer stocks memory and disk-drive components for end-of-sale Cisco MCS 7800 models. Please consult the parts lists in the “Older Servers” section later in this document to get the HP part numbers of these components, and procure them direct from HP. Remember to remove these parts if the Cisco Technical Assistance Center (TAC) ever performs a Return Material Authorization (RMA) on the Cisco MCS 7800. If HP no longer has these parts available, then consider migrating to either a newer appliance or a virtualized solution as described at http://www.cisco.com/go/uc-virtualized. © 2011 Cisco and/or its affiliates. Ordering Instructions from HP Customers must use the HP provided bundle part numbers in Table 1, and they must follow the HP-provided ordering instructions at http://www.hp.com/go/cisco/serversolutions. These special HP original-equipment-manufacturer (OEM) configurations are for Cisco only, and are not likely to be available through HP standard customer, reseller, or distributor resources. Older Servers If you are using older Compaq or HP servers and want to upgrade to newer software releases, refer to Table 2 for a list of older configurations that are still supported. Note that HP has discontinued these models and you can no longer purchase them from HP or its resellers. Please contact your local Cisco account team for information about replacement models and ordering assistance. Please note that end-of-sale Cisco MCS 7800 server models are still fully supported by the Cisco TAC (for troubleshooting, dispatch, repair, and replacement) until the end-of-support date. End-of-sale server models are also still supported for software upgrades per the compatibility matrices provided with Table 1. © 2011 Cisco and/or its affiliates. All rights reserved.
