Limited Permit X-ray Technician Program
Responsibilities of a Limited X-ray Technician
Due to the strong pay and solid job prospects, more and more people are becoming X-ray
technicians. Additionally, employment in the medical field is projected to grow faster than
average, and job opportunities are expected to be favorable. If you are interested in science
and technology and also like helping people, then this might be the career for you. X-ray techs
produce radiographs of various parts of a patient’s body for analysis by a Doctor or Radiologist.
Career Care Institute’s Limited Permit X-ray Technician program will prepare the graduate to
take the California State Examination in three limited permit categories: Chest, Extremities,
and Torso skeletal. The student will also receive training in vitals, ancillary medical procedures
and receive certificate of instruction in venipuncture and injections; and electrocardiograms.
Limited permit radiographers are trained to perform radiographic procedures and ancillary
medical procedures commonly needed in outpatient clinics, physicians’ offices, and ambulatory
care centers, Urgent Care Facilities and some Imaging Centers.
Digital Radiography
The Radiologic Health Branch of the California Department of Health Services has approved
digital radiography for limited permit radiographer and CCI has added it to its curriculum. What
does that mean for YOU? It means that after completion of our program, you will be able to
work in a variety of x-ray settings including those Facilities that have the newest equipment in
