OVERVIEW
Turn your Peerless luminaires into smart
luminaires.
daylight dimming, dual-technology occupancy
detection on/off control or both.
By specifying one or more luminaires with an
integrated nLight® Micro Sensor, schools,
offices and other facilities can reduce
electricity use and save on operating costs.
Available as a pre-installed factory option in
the majority of Peerless suspended luminaires*,
the nLight Micro Sensor can control individual
luminaires or entire lighting zones.
The nLight® Micro Sensor is a powerful sensor
and control module that can detect light,
motion and sound to deliver energy-saving
And, since the unit is embedded in the
luminaire, the nLight Micro Sensor simplifies
control system installation and reduces ceiling
clutter.
ORDERING
First, determine the appropriate sensor type, network type and sensor power source for your application. Then, on
the luminaire specification sheet, enter the applicable code (Ex: ADC2) as part of the required Catalog Number
under the Options column.

DAYLIGHT DIMMING (ADC)
The integrated daylight sensor provides automatic
dimming control for daylight harvesting applications.
The sensor works by monitoring daylight conditions
in a room and then controlling the luminaire to ensure
that adequate lighting levels are maintained.
The sensor tells the luminaire’s embedded power pack
to switch its relay and/or change its dimming output
in order to achieve maximum daylight harvesting
while maintaining a minimum light-level (set-point).
When daylight is not available, the sensor allows the
luminaire to operate at full-bright level. As daylight
increases and begins to add to the light level in the
room, the automatic dimming control feature starts
dimming the light proportionally.
When sufficient daylight is present to maintain the
set-point without any contribution from the luminaire,
the sensor can signal for the lights to switch off
completely. This feature can be disabled so the
luminaire stays on at full-dim during daylight periods
as well. It will remain off until the daylight level drops
below the set-point and then, at that point, will be
turned back on at the full-dim level.
As daylight levels fall further, the sensor slowly raises
the controlled light level in order to achieve the
necessary overall level. When all daylight contribution
is gone, the luminaire returns to its full-bright level.

NETWORKING & WIRING
All sensors are nLight-enabled meaning they have
the ability to communicate over an nLight network.
When wired using Cat-5e cabling with other nLight
sensors, WallPods or power packs, an nLight control
zone is created. Once linked to an nLight Gateway,
directly or through a bridge, the zone becomes
capable of timed operation, remote status monitoring
and control via SensorView software.
