Design Steps Example 1 Determine the load on each control A home office has two zones of light. Three 50W magnetic low-voltage (MLV) downlights illuminate the computer desk. Using the UL efficiency limit of 80%, this is a 187.5VA load (150W / 80% = 187.5VA). The central office lighting is provided by four 75W incandescent downlights.
