After theory examination
1. If the number of teaching days falls less than 180 days (90 days in each semester) in the academic session 2014-15
due to some unforeseen reasons, it would be the responsibility of each Department/Institute/College to make good
the loss by arranging extra classes.
2. Award of Degrees: Degrees shall be awarded within 180 days from the date of notification of result.
3. In case result of the Even Semester are not declared in time, provisional admissions in case of ongoing Semesters
will be made and classes may commence w.e.f. 16th July, 2014 of U.G. and 22nd July, 2014 of P.G. courses.

Objectives of the college

Visionary Management of the college
S. Bhupinder Singh Jauhar, President,
Managing Committee and a noted industrialist
steered this institution to the top position not only
in Haryana but at National Level too. He is also
on the Governing Bodies of a good number of
educational institutions of this area. He is assisted
by a team of eminent educationists, jurists,
industrialists and political luminaries to keep the
spirit of education aflame.
The college is proud of its advanced
teaching-learning environment and infrastructure.
The dedicated faculty members are ever ready to
take up the challenges of imparting quality higher
education to their pupils coming from all nooks and
corners of India and abroad.
Guru Nanak Khalsa College, Yamuna
Nagar, a premier post-graduate institution,
affiliated to Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra,
was established in 1968 with a very few
departments and a handful of students on the eve
of quin-centenary of Guru Nanak Dev Ji's
birthday. The objective of the institution was to
impart state of art education to poor and weaker
sections of the society. Since its inception the
institution has been deeply committed to the
propagation of patriotism, nationalism and
secularism. Today this institution boasts of its
four faculties, 32 departments with 162 odd
teaching faculty and around 4500 students. The
college offers around 40 different courses at UG
level and 10 at PG level for a varied choice
extending from regular degree courses to the
state of Art courses for futuristic requirements. In
addition to that the college offers 2 Add On and 5
Career Oriented Courses. The college has
significant presence in the field of research and a
number of major & minor research projects are
awarded to the faculty members by the UGC and
other bodies. The institution has set up a glorious
track record over the years. The college has been
accredited A+ by the NAAC and recognised as a
Center with Potential for Excellence by the UGC.
The college is situated in the heart of Yamuna
Nagar. Yamuna Nagar is the second biggest
industrial town in Haryana situated at the bank of
river Yamuna. Yamuna Nagar - Jagadhri are the
twin cities (Metropolitan) famous for state of art
education and industry. Yamuna Nagar is well
connected with New Delhi (approx. 200 km ) by
railway and road transport.
Merit Promotion Scheme
The college has instituted a merit promotion
scheme for the bright meritorious students of the
college. This scheme is open for all the students
of this institution who fulfill the required conditions
of merit and eligibility criteria laid for this scheme.

Top Most NAAC Grading in Haryana
Accredited A+ Institution by UGC body NAAC (National Assessment and Accreditation Council), Bangalore in 2005. We are the only
post graduate college to receive this prestigious grade in Haryana.

Declared the Over All Best Non-Govt. Aided Co-educational College by Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra on account of its brilliant
achievements in education, sports, community service and cultural activities for the session 2003-04.
Recipient of "College with Potential for Excellence" Award
In 2006, the University Grants Commission awarded this college, the status of a College with Potential for Excellence. It should be reckoned that
ours is the only college from Haryana to receive this honour . Following this, the college has received a grant of Rs. 60 lac for strengthening its
infrastructure and for creating better learning opportunities in the first phase during the session 2005-06 and a subsequent grant of Rs. 50 lacs in
the second phase during the session 2010-11.
Recipient of Handsome Development Grants from the University Grants Commission
The college was selected as a Centre with Potential for Excellence in 2006 and received a grant of Rs. 60 Lacs for quality education practices.
Impressed by the outstanding achievements of the college, the UGC has released grants of Rs. 1.1 crore for strengthening the Science laboratories
during the sessions 2007-08, 2008-09. College received a development grant of Rs. 56 lacs for general development of the college. The college has
also received Additional Assistance Grant of Rs. 25 Lacs from U.G.C. in 2009-10 and a grant of Rs. 50 lacs under Centre with Potential for Excellence
scheme from U.G.C. in 2010-11. Recently, the college has received Rs. 24 Lacs for Career Oriented Courses, Rs. 40 lacs for Swimming Pool and
Rs. 23.95 lacs for Additional Assistance Grants in 2011-12 and in 2012-13 the college received UGC Grants of 21 & 33 lacs for Guru Nanak Dev
& Gandhian Study Centre respectively under EPOCH making scheme.
Excellent Academic Results
Our students have been consistently bagging top positions in the Annual Examinations of Kurukshetra University. last year 38 students
from differfent classes figured among the top ten positivion . However, this year as many 11 students got place in the top ten positions
in the results declared so far along with this 50 students scored more than 75% marks in their exams and brought laurels to the college.
Many more students are expected to bring positions in the coming results of University exams.
Highly Qualified and Experienced Faculty
There are 162 faculty members in the college. Out of 64 permanent faculty members; 53 are with Ph.D. degrees.
Research Friendly Environment
Research is generally regarded as University centred activity but our teachers have not only made us proud by their researches but inspired
others to make it college centred too. Dr. P.K. Malik and Dr. R.S. Walia received Post Doctoral Fellowships under Research Award Scheme
in the subjects of Commerce and English, respectively, with a grant of Rs. 23 lac. Dr. P.K. Malik and Dr. Sanjay Arora received major projects
in the field of Commerce with grants of Rs. 6.6 lac, Rs. 7.5 lac, respectively. Dr. Mandeep Singh received major project in the field of Economics
with a grant of Rs. 4.6 lac; he has already completed a minor research project. Dr. N.S. Virk received major research project in the field of
religious study; Dr. (Mrs.) Vijay Sharma received major research project in the field of Industrial Chemistry with a grant of Rs. 7.08 lacs; Dr. Daljit
Kaur received major research project in the field of Geography with a grant of Rs. 8.58 lacs. Dr. Rameshwar Dass has completed minor
research project in Industrial Chemistry. Minor research projects have also been sanctioned to Dr. Alok Goyal, Dr. Ashok Khurana, Dr. R.S.
Vohra in Commerce; Dr. Amrit Kaur in English; Dr. H.S. Kang in Physical Education, Dr. Parvin Kumar in Chemistry, Dr. P.R. Tyagi in
Commerce and Sh. Virender Pal in English. In the past years our teachers supervised around 136 M.Phil. candidates and 4 Ph.D. candidates
in various subjects.
Leader in Sports Activities
The excellence in sports is evident from the fact that the college is Overall Kurukshetra University Sports Champion for last 22 years in the
Women section and 20 years in the Men section. However, overall men and women championship status in both the sections for the
session 2013-14 are in the offing. The number of the gold, silver, bronze medals won by the sports persons is countless and the class
of the sports persons produced by the college can be judged from the fact that our student Ms. Shivam Saini won Gold Medal in Youth
Commonwealth Weightlifting Championship and got IV position in Asian Championship. He also won gold medal in Youth National Championship,
bronze medal in Junior National Championship as well as in A.I.I.U. Weightlifting Championship. Our star boxer Ms. Deeksha brought laurals
to the college by winning bronze medal in Golden Gloves Boxing Championship held at Serbia. She also won gold medal in A.I.I.U.
Boxing Championship. College athlete Ms. Amandeep Kaur won gold medal in International Marathon Championship and a bronze
medal in A.I.I.U. Cross Country Championship. Mr. Vinod Kumar bagged silver medal in the Internation Marathon championship and
a gold medal in A.I.I.U. Cross Country Championship. All this has been possible under the patronage of S. Bhupinder Singh Jauhar,
Patron, Sports Promotion Council, who leaves no stones unturned to uplift the deserving deprived sports persons.
Top Notch Training Facilities in Sports
The college offers excellent training facilities for outstanding sports persons for competing at AIIU /National/International levels. College offers
special training facilities in Yoga, Weightlifting and Football in the direction of specially trained coaches of Haryana Sports Department and Sports
Authority of India. The college has created specialised training facilities through Sports Promotion Council and Football Academy.

The college offers a wide array of general and vocational courses in Arts, Science, Sports Science and Commerce & Management.
There are 10 postgraduate degree courses, 34 undergraduate courses and 7 diploma and Add on certificate courses run by the
college.
Remarkable Achievements in NCC
The college has three platoons of NCC Army Wing with a strength of 160 boys and one platoon of 54 girls under the command of Dr.
(Major) H.S. Kang and Dr. (Captain) Amrit Kaur, respectively. Both the officers decorated with commandant medals have brought
laurels to the college. Dr. (Captain) Amrit Kaur was declared best lady ANO of Kurukshetra University and Dr. (Major) H.S. Kang
commended by Director General, NCC, New Delhi. The students have shown their caliber as the college has produced 16 commissioned
officers in Indian Army and some of them have joined the Indian Army through NCC special entry scheme. Kuldeep Singh got two Gold
Medals in All India Malvankar Shooting Championship and Himanshu Raghuvanshi represented Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh
and Chandigarh Directorate in All Indian Thal Sainik Camp. he was also selected for SSB Training Camp at Officer Training Academy,
Nagpur. Our eight girls participated in All India NCC games in Kho-Kho. Two NCC Girls attended Advance Leadership Camp at Abohar.
Community - Oriented Services
The College is closely associated with a number of community-oriented activities and programmes either independently or in collaboration
with GOs/NGOs like Red Cross, FPAI, Utthan and other local bodies. Our NCC, NSS, Youth Red Cross units along with Eco Club,
Rotract Club, Red Ribbon Club, Adventure Activity Club, Legal Literacy Cell, Social Worker's Association and Women
Cell have made positive contributions in organising and supporting various community welfare programmes in the city. A remarkable
attempt has been undertaken under UGC sponsored Women Empowerment and Community Upliftment programme in which
vocational training in cutting and tailoring, cosmetology, embroidery along with tree plantation - distribution and health check-up camp
were organised at Vill. Gadhauli, Yamuna Nagar.
Moral Values and Dignity of Labour
The college has a tradition of upholding moral values and commitment to dignity of labour. This is seen during the Founders' Day
Celebrations in which the management, staff and students collaborate in organising a Religious Kavi Darbar and discourses on
religious philosophy founded by Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji in whose name the college is known for. The students participate in the entire
function and they learn the dignity of labour by performing sewa in the form of cleaning utensils, preparing and distributing Langar and
serving host to approximately 5-6 thousand people who join us in these celebrations every year.
Commitment to Blood Donation
The college has a great tradition of serving the humanity by contributing to the voluntary blood donation. The college has eleven times
won the Governor Award for promotion of blood donation in Haryana. Every year a massive blood donation camp is organised during
founders' day celebrations. In this year's camp also a record number of units of blood was collected by the teams from Blood Bank,
PGI, Chandigarh; Trauma Centre Blood Bank, Yamuna Nagar; and National Blood Bank, Gaba Hospital, Yamuna Nagar in collaboration
with Red Cross Society, Haryana. The college students under the banner of NCC, NSS and Youth Red Cross make all-out efforts
to promote blood donation and are committed to provide any number of units to any individual in need of blood throughout the year.
Personality development programmes and Training in leadership skills
The college offers a rich environment for personality development and training in leadership skills through various extension lectures
and participatory camps in collaboration with organisations like Bulls Eye throughout the year. The departmental associations conduct
their competitions for personality development sessions and career counselling.
Career Counselling
The college Career Counselling and Placement Forum is very active in providing best opportunities to the students for selection of
career. The forum has organised many interactive sessions with experts for giving the students a glimpse of the opportunities in
various fields. Through their efforts many students get placement in various renowned industries every year.
Concern for Women Empowerment through Women Cell
The college Women Cell remains ever active to raise issues related to women empowerment and welfare.
Concern for Economically weaker Students
The college helps poor students by providing scholarships and financial assistance from all possible agencies. A total of 154 scholarships
and fee concessions amounting to Rs. 4.41 lacs were given to the needy students by Jamna Auto Industries Ltd. This year two girl
students of our college received Only Girl Child Scholarship of Rs. 24,000/- p.a. from U.G.C. Apart from this the college has given
generous scholarships and fee concessions amounting to Rs. 245520/- to meritorious and needy students. Along with this a large
number of personal scholarships has been constituted by various faculty members as well as non-government organisations like
Rotary Club Riviera, Yamuna Nagar.

To meet the challenges of the Information Technology and Computer
Science professionals, the college took lead in introducing the M.Sc.
Computer Science (Software) in 2000. This is a two year course consisting
of 4 semesters.
Eligibility for admission
Semester I : A person who has passed one of the following examinations
of this University, or an examination recognized as equivalent thereto, shall
be eligible to join the First Semester of the course
B.Sc./B.Com. with Computer Science or Computer Application (Vocational)
as one of the Subjects with atleast 50% marks in aggregate. or
B.Sc.(Hons.) in Computer Science or B.Sc. (Hons.) Information Technology
with at least 50% marks in the aggregate. or
BCA with 50% marks in aggregate or Post B.Sc. Diploma in Computer Science
and Application / Post- graduate Diploma in Computer Applications / Postgraduate Diploma in Computer Science with at least 50% marks in aggregate.

Semester I : A person who have passed 10+2 examination of Board of
School Education, Haryana or any other examination recognized as

40% marks with five subject at 10+2 level.
For getting Admission in B.B.A. III Semester : For promotion to III
Sem. should have cleared 50% of papers in Sem. I and Sem. II. For
promotion to V Sem. should have cleared all papers of Sem. I and 50%
rest of the papers of Semester II, III and IV. Pass marks for each paper
is 40%. However, promotion to the III Semester is on provisional basis till

M.A. (SOCIAL WORK)
M.A. (Social Work) was started in the college from the session 1988-89.
The department was set up to impart education and training in professional
social work in order to provide qualified personnel in social welfare and allied
fields, to develop knowledge, skills, attitudes and values appropriate to social
work profession, to promote integration of theory and practice in the fields of
social welfare and social policy and to provide inter-disciplinary and better
understanding of human problems and issues of social development.
MSW degree holders are employed in supervisory and administrative
capacities in various welfare programmes. They are also employed as
Labour Welfare Officers in industries, in training institutions, social
research projects and personnel units in industry. There is also an increasing
demand for professionally trained personnel for work in development
oriented programmes, especially for the weaker sections of society.
Eligibility for admission
Semester I
A candidate who has passed Bachelor's Degree in any discipline from this
University or an equivalent degree with at least 50% marks shall be eligible
to join Semester I of M.A. (Social Work).
For getting Admission in M.A (Social Work) III Semester, students are
required to have appeared in II Sem. and cleared 50% of papers in Sem.
I and Sem. II. However, promotion to the III Semester is on provisional basis

Field Work
a) Concurrent Field Work
During their two years training at the Department, students are placed
in different institutions and communities in and around Yamunanagar
for field work. Each student is expected to put in a maximum of 15
hours in field work per week. Working knowledge of Hindi is necessary
for satisfactory completion of field work.
b) Block Field Work
At the end of the fourth semester after the University examination,
each student is assigned field work in an agency for a period of eight
weeks. This is designed to give some employment experience to
students.

The Postgraduate Diploma in Yoga Therapy in the Department
of Sports Sciences has been introduced to prepare the candidate as a
Yoga and Naturopathy Instructor/Teacher as well as Therapist. AS the
entire world is running in search of happiness and peace and Yoga and
Naturopathy is the best media to attain a stress free life. So this course is
very much employment oriented course.
Eligibility for admission : Bachelor's degree from K.U.K. or any other
examination recognised as equivalent thereto with atleast 45% marks in
aggregate.

International sports persons or members of schedule caste/tribe).
2. has participated in sports and games at State Level which may be State
Schools/State Inter-Districts and State Inter-Collegiates (Intermediate); and
3. has passed one of the following examinations with atleast 35% marks
and with English as one of the subjects and passed 10+2 with the five
subjects shall be eligible to join the first year (Part-l) Class of B.Sc. in
Physical Education, Health Education and Sports.
a) Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (10+2 standard) of Board
of School Education, Haryana.
b) Certificate in Physical Education of atleast one year duration from any
recognised Institution with total period of 12 years schooling. or
c) Any other examination recognised by the academic council as
equivalent to (a) and (b) above.
For a person who has been placed under compartment / re-appear in one
subject only in the qualifying examination and seeks admission to part-l, the
required percentage of marks for admission shall be determined by taking
in to account the minimum pass marks in compartment/re-appear subject.
A candidate of another University/Board who did not pass in the subject of
English in the Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (10+2 standard)
of Board of school Education, Haryana or in an examination recognised as
equivalent there to, may be allowed to join B.Sc. (Physical Education,
Health Education and Sports) Part -l class provisionally subject to his
qualifying the subject of English of 10+2 standard examination.
B.Sc. III / V Semester : For promotion to III Sem. should have cleared
50% of papers in Sem. I and Sem. II. For promotion to V Sem. should have
cleared all papers of Sem. I and 50% rest of the papers of Semester II, III
and IV. Pass marks for each paper is 40% However, promotion to the
III / V Semester is on provisional basis till such time the result of semester II
/ Sem. IV is declared. On declaration of the result, if a student fails, his/her
provisional admission shall stand cancelled abinitio.

The programme under Games & Sports practical work is divided under
three groups :
Group l : Athletics, Gymanastics, Yoga and the Games & Sports of his/
her specialisation
Group ll : Basketball, Cricket, Football, Hockey, Handball, Volleyball,
Swimming and Vocation-oriented Course.
Group III: Badminton, Lawn Tennis, Judo Kabaddi, Kho-Kho, Archery, Table
Tennis, Weight lifting and Wrestling and Vocation-oriented course.
In the first year, Athletics, Gymnastics and Yoga are compulsory. In
addition to this one Game/Sport will have to be selected by him/her of his
speciality which will continue during all the three years.
In the second year, Athletics and Gymnastics will continue under the
compulsory programme. The Game/Sport of his/her speciality will also
continue. In addition, he/she will have to select two games/sports from
group II or one game/sport from group II and one vocation oriented course.
In the third year the games/sports from Group III and the vocation oriented course selected by him/her in the second year will continue.

CO-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES AND RELATED ORGANISATIONS
guidance of Youth Red Cross counsellors Prof. Bal Krishan and Prof.
Gurvinder Kaur. The college has special status in the field of blood
donation in the State as the motivation in the students is very-very
high and the number of donations by the students of the college is
increasing year by year. National and State level camps of Youth
Red Cross are held every year.
GAMES, ATHLETICS AND GYMNASTICS
College is known for its highly enriched supporting environment . The college
possesses a magnificent Gymnasium Hall for all Indoor games of National
Level. The students from all the classes take active part in games of their
choice. Our students of sports faculty have shown their talent at national and
international level and they are equally matched by the students from other
faculties. Overall it can be said that Physical Training is compulsory for all
able-bodied students. They are expected to participate in one or more of the
following games and activities like Football, Hockey, Table Tennis, Cricket,
Volleyball, Kabaddi, Athletics, Gymnastics and Shooting.
YOUTH WELFARE ACTIVITIES
Proper emphasis is laid on Youth Welfare activities. Students are
encouraged to take part in Dramatics, Debates, Declamations, Photography,
Dance and Music, Hiking, Tours and Trips, Social Service Projects and
Leadership programmes, camps and various other activities. Every student
is required to become an active member of at least two of the various
cultural clubs and associations in the college. With a view of developing in
the students aesthetic taste, emotional refinement, organisational ability and
quality of leadership, various associations, clubs, societies organise functions
in the college throughout the year and provide instruction to the students
through entertainment.
NATIONAL CADET CORPS (N.C.C.) ARMY WING
(BOTH MEN AND WOMEN)
N.C.C is a very popular and efficiently-run organisation in the college. The
cadets are governed by N.C.C. rules laid down by the university from time
to time. Besides whole time N.C.C. Officers, Dr. (Major) Harinder Singh
Kang and Dr. (Captain) Amrit Kaur, Associate Professors of this college
conduct the training and administration of N.C.C. in the college. The college
has three platoons of N.C.C. for boys and one for girls. Students on N.C.C
rolls are required to complete 75% of the parades during the year.
Qualifications in N.C.C. prove advantageous to the students in their future
career. 32 seats are reserved for 'C' certificate holders in I.M.A. per course
on the basis of merit. Various courses like paratraining, Mountaineering with
Rock Climbing, Basic Leadership and Advanced Leadership courses are
open to N.C.C. Cadets, N.C.C. Cadets with 50% marks in graduation,
below 25 yrs and 'B' Grade in 'C' Certificate are eligible for direct SSB
interview for Officer Training Academy, Chennai (Exempted from Written test)
.5 marks are awarded to 'C' Certificate holders in various colleges and
universities as weightage. The cadet/cadets who have represented
Directorate in the Republic Day Parade, New Delhi will be granted
additional seats in PG courses besides he/she fullfil the basic
eligibility conditions.
NATIONAL SERVICE SCHEME (N.S.S.)
VISMAD - The College Magazine
The college Magazine Vismad, provides an opportunity to the students having
a flair for writing. It is published once a year. The students are encouraged to
contribute articles to the Magazine in English, Hindi Punjabi and Sanskrit.
Each Section has a student Editor working under the staff Editor. Students
learn the art of writing under the guidance of the Editorial Board.
BRIGHT STUDENTS COUNCIL
This council is for meritorious students studying in various classes of the
college and its aim is to provide them all possible facilities for enhancing
their abilities. This includes special extension lectures, tours, group activities
and mock tests in collaboration with various agencies. Meritorious students
are also given special financial support through merit promotion scheme.
CAREER GUIDANCE AND PLACEMENT CELL
The Placement Cell tries to establish direct contact between the employment
agencies and the students. It helps the students in choosing the right career.
The cell has established a centre equipped with all the information for the
right choice of career and placement opportunities. It conducts personality
development classes through M/s Bulls Eye. Due to the proper guidance
and current job informations students have qualified for placements drives
of many industrial organisations.

The college started National Service Scheme in1979. The aim of the scheme
is to develop all-round personality of the students to make them responsible
and patriotic citizens. It also inculcates the sense of dignity of manual labour.
N.S.S. provides a forum to the young students for social service in their
spare time. Under this scheme two types of programmes are organised :
regular activities and camping programme. The college has three units of
N.S.S. volunteers under the devoted programme officers Dr. N.P. Singh,
Dr. Catherine Masih and Mr. Dharampal. The outstanding volunteers of
NSS get University Merit Certificate with a special weightage in the higher
education admissions and jobs. The volunteers who have represented
college in the Republic Day Parade, New Delhi will be granted
additional seats in PG courses if he/she fullfil the basic eligibility
conditions.
Youth Red Cross (Y.R.C.)
From the year 2008 Youth Red Cross has been constituted in all the
colleges for motivating the students towards social causes like Blood
Donation, Vaccination Drives, Public Health Awareness, Services for
the disabled, Services for the Economically Backward, Hospital Welfare
Services, Maternity & Child Welfare, Family Welfare Services, etc.

SARDARNI DEVKI JAUHAR GIRLS' HOSTEL
The college has one magnificent Girls' hostel on its premises. The hostel
provides accommodation for 150 students coming from far flung areas
of the country. Admission to hostel is strictly on merit.
Rules & Regulations for Hostel :
1. Those wishing to join the hostel will have to present themselves for the
interview before the admission committee on the notified dates for
admission in the college. However, admission to the hostel will be granted
on merit after being inter-viewed by the Hostel Committee.
2. Hostel seat is allotted only for one academic year. All students, old and
new, on being granted admission to the Hostel, are required to fill in the
Hostel form.
3. Fresh applicants to the hostel must furnish a certificate of good behaviour
from the Principal of the institution last attended.
4. Admission to the Hostel will only be granted, if the candidate is
accompanied by her parent/parents at the time of interview (This will

The Principal is the final deciding authority for the allotment of a seat in
the Hostel and can refuse admission to any student without giving any
reason in the interest of the institution. No hostel admission can be
claimed as matter to right on any account.

Hostel rent for full year Rs. 15000/- including refundable Security
Rs. 1000/- .

COLLEGE LIBRARY
The college library has about 95,000 books on its shelves
covering a large range of subjects. There is a separate section for the Post
Graduates and Honours students. The Text Books Section has several
copies of various text books for the benefit of such students who cannot
afford to buy them. The college Reading Room is provided with a large
number of newspapers, periodicals and journals. The library has following

Library Rules
1. Library books will be issued to every student on Library Cards. The
number of books which a student can borrow will be as under :

getting the book issued, otherwise, the person who returns the book
will be held responsible for the damage.
Reference books and periodicals shall not be issued except for
consultation in the Library premises.
Text books from the reference section will be issued for overnight use
only. The rate of overdue charge for such books will be Rs. 2 per
day.
If the Library Card is lost, the duplicate will be issued on payment of
Rs. 2/- alongwith RS. 25/- additional security. But the original holder of
the card shall be held responsible for all the books drawn on it.
Students must carry their Identity Card with them whenever they enter
the college Library. They can be refused admission to the Library or
can be turned out of the Library if they fail to produce their Identity
Cards on demand.
If the Identity Card is lost by student, the duplicate can be issued on
payment of Rs. 20/Students are expected to read the Notices issued from time to time by
the Librarian. No excuse will be entertained for ignorance.
MERITORIOUS STUDENTS' BOOK BANK

The college library has a Meritorious Students' Book Bank especially for
the meritorious students of various classes. The latest books prescribed in
the syllabus and advanced level books are given to the meritorious students
EDUSAT - VIRTUAL CLASS ROOM WITH SATELLITE LINKED EDUCATION
The college has a unique distinction of being the only non-government
aided college having Edusat System for Satellite based education. This
system is a part of educational network established by Directorate of Higher
Education, Government of Haryana. It has a dual channel two way AudioVideo communication channel using satellite and DTH technology. The
students of the college attend the virtual classroom lectures through Edusat
according to the programme schedule available for each subject during the
session. Ever since its inception, the system has developed craze amongst
the students who are extremely benefitted with the use of advanced teachinglearning technology.

Securities shall be refunded only to those students who will submit
security form to the fee clerk from 1st March to 31st March after the end of
academic session in which he/she leaves the college. The securities not
withdrawn till 31st March will lapse. Securities shall not be adjusted in
respect of admission to the next class. To receive refund of security, a
student will have to be present at the college in person. Securities will not
be payable through authority letter or by remittance.
Fee structure of the courses is as per the University norms.
All fee and other dues are payable strictly in advance and in full. No
part payment will be accepted.
Students must arrange to deposit their dues to the college office on
or before the due date.
Late fee fine of Rs. 2/- per day (excluding holiday) shall be charged.
The name of the defaulters will be struck off from the rolls, if the dues
are not paid till the end of the month (unless permission is obtained
from the Head of the Institution).
Re-admission may be allowed with consent of HOD on payment of
Rs. 500/- along with arrears of the fee and fines, if any.
The securities are however, refundable in the month of March in the
following year only if the student applied for refund within stipulated
period i.e. 31 March.
Fee concessions and stipends are granted to the deserving students
subject to their good behaviour, satisfactory progress in studies and
regularity in attendance. A concession in fee or a stipend may be
withdrawn at any time at the discretion of the college authorities if it
is found that the recipient has ceased to deserve it on account of
some lapse on his/her part.
CASUAL STUDENTS
Casual admission to various classes may be allowed as per the
norms prescribed by Kurukshetra University. The admission is only for the
courses having practicals.
EXAM RELATED RULES
Every candidate shall be examined by the University according
to the scheme of examination and syllabus as approved by the Academic
Council from time to time. A candidate, who fails in an examination, or,
having been eligible fails to appear in an examination, shall, unless approve
otherwise by the Academic Council, take the examination as an ex-student
according to the syllabus prescribed by the University for regular students
appearing for the examination.
ABSENTEE FINE (As per Haryana Govt. instructions)

The candidate securing 40% marks in each theory paper /
practical examintion / dissertaion / project report / training report / vivavoce examiantion will be declared pass in the respective paper.

The successful candidates of Sixth Semester Examination shall
be classified into division on the basis of the aggregate marks obtained by
them in the First, Second, Third, Fourth, Fifth and Sixth Semester
examiantions taken together and the division obtained by them will be
stated in their degree as under :

Degrees will be awarded by Kurukshetra University, Kuruksehtra
within 180 days from the date of notification of result. Students are advised

1. If a student fails to attend his/her classs continuously for seven days from
the date of commencement of the classes or from th date of admission, his/
her admission shall be cancelled.
2. If a student remains absent from his/her class for a continuous period of
fourteen days or more in a month without valid reasons, medical or
otherwise, his/her name will be struck off from the rolls and parents will be
informed, irrespective of the fact that he/she has paid his/her dues.

Students shall apply for leave when needed on the prescribed form
obtainable from the college office.
Students must submit their application before availing leave and not
after absent from the college except on the basis of sickness in
which case the application must be submitted on the day when the
student attends the college after recovery.
Leave can be granted only by the Principal or by a teacher deputed
for that purpose. Leave application by post shall not be accepted.
A Medical Certificate must accompany the application for sick leave.
During House Examination application for sick leave must be certified
by the college Doctor.
IMPROVEMENT OF DEGREE
If a candidate desires to improve his/her result/division he will be
allowed to appear as an ex-student within next four semester examinations
of passing the sixth semester examination in one or more theory papers of
any one or two parts out of Part-1 (Semester I & II), Part-II (Semester III &
IV) and Part-III (Semester V & VI) separately in four consecutive semester
examinations. He shall have to pay examination fee for the whole semester
to which he/she opts. to appear. Result of such a candidate shall be
declared only if he/she improves his/her result in the aggregate of the
whole six semester examinations, by taking into account the marks obtained
by him/her in the paper(s)/Semester(s) in which he/she re-appears and
the marks obtained by him/her in the paper(s)/semester(s) in which he/she
re-appears and the marks obtained by him/her earlier in the remaining
paper(s)/Semester(s) etc. In case, where there are more than one papers
in any subject and the candidate appears in one or two papers of that
subject, the benefit of increased marks in those papers will also be allowed
for improvement of performance/result/division. The fact that the candidate
has improved the result shall be mentioendi nthe Detailed-Marks-Card.
Such candidates shall take the examintion according to the
syllabus in force for the regular students for that semester examination.
CHANGE OF SUBJECT OR FACULTY
Change of subject or faculty may be allowed at the discretion of
the college authorities only if seats are available and as per the merit
position. Fee for the change of subject/faculty will be Rs. 10/- for change of
each subject and Rs. 50/- for change of faculty. No such change will be
allowed after the last date fixed for the purpose by the University.
For change of subject / faculty the concerned student should
submit an application form to Mr. Jashan Lal in the college office. The list of
those students who are allowed to change the subject /faculty will be
displayed on the notice board. The change of subject/faculty without
the permission of the Principal will not be entertained.

UNIVERSITY AND HOUSE EXAMINATION

UG (Semester System)
Only such student will be permitted to appear in the University
Examination as fulfil the conditions specified under regulations :
(i) 75% attendance
(ii) He/she secures at least 20% marks in the aggregate and 15%
in each subject to be counted on the basis of one class test of 10
marks of 45 minutes duration.
Note :1)
Students using unfair means in the class test shall be severely
punished.
All the concessions in fees etc. granted to such students shall be
withdrawn. In serious cases the punishment may amount to heavy
fine/expulsion from the college.
2)
Students who do not appear in an examination owing to any reason
except that of illness shall be deemed to have secured zero mark in
the paper (s) concerned and their fee concession will be withdrawn.
In case of illness the student concerned will have to produce a
medical certificate from the Medical Officer of the college during the
examination days.
3)
Students failing to appear in the class tests without prior permission
(leave) shall be fined at the rate of Rs.10/- per paper as it is compulsory
for all the students to take the House Tests and Class Tests.
Deficiency in the prescribed lectures and practicals etc. may be
condoned by the principal of the College as under :a) Lectures
: Upto 15% of lecturers delivered in each
subject/paper.
b) Practicals
: Upto 5% in each subject/paper.
INTERNAL ASSESSMENT CRITERIA

There shall be 20% marks earmarked for internal Assessment in
UG, 20% marks in M.Com./M.Sc. (25% marks in M.Sc. Computer Science)
in each theory paper of each semester to be awarded by the class teachers,
calculated/based upon class test and attendance, as under :(a)

The weightage of 20% for attendance will be given only to those
students who have attended more than the minimum requirement of 75%
lectures/practicals in each subject. Two tests of 45 mins. duration for each
theory paper will be conducted at the college level one month before the
commencement of the examinations which will decide for 30% weightage of
the internal assessment. There shall be 10% marks for Internal Assessment
in U.G. Semester V & VI on the basis of class test and class attendence.
CODE OF CONDUCT
1.
RAGGING IS UNLAWFUL
"Ragging in educational institutions is banned and any
one indulging in ragging is likely to be punished
appropriately.
The punishment may include
(i)
expulsion from the institution.
(ii) suspension from the institution or classes for a limited
period or fine upto Rs. 25000/- with a public apology.
(ii) withholding scholarship or other benefits.
(iii) debarring from representation in the events.
(iv) withholding results.
(v) suspension or expulsion from hostel or mess and the
like.
(vi) If the individuals committing or abetting ragging are not/
cannot be identified, collective punishment can be
awarded to act as a deterrent.
(vii) in extreme cases an FIR can be registered against the
culprit.
WHAT CONSTITUTES RAGGING ?
(i)
Any conduct whether by words spoken or written or
by an act which has the effect of teasing, treating or
handling with rudeness a fresher or any other student.
(ii)
Rowdy activities which cause or are likely to cause
annoyance, hardship, physical or psychological harm

Any act by a senior student that prevents or disrupts

or any other danger to health or person.

Any act or abuse by spoken words, emails, post,
public insults which would also include deriving
perverted pleasure, vicarious or sadistic thrill from
actively or passively participating in the discomfiture
to fresher or any other student.

All the students are required to follow above said anti-ragging guidelines
and follow the anti-ragging measures strictly. The Students are required to
immediately inform any type of ragging activity to the Anti-ragging Committee

Every student is expected to keep his Identity-cum-Library Card
with him/her and must produce it on demand. In case, it is lost the
matter must be immediately reported to the office for re-issue.

Students must make it a habit to read the college notices daily and act

Smoking, drinking, chewing/carrying tobacco and gambling in the

care. College belongs to the students.

Students should always be ready to do an act of goodness. A special

The candidate seeking admission are eligible to join Ist year class if they have

Candidates seeking admission to the Ist year of UG degree class and having
