What is the Book Swap and Uniform Sale?
The Book Swap and Uniform Sale is an annual event sponsored by the DeMatha Parents’ Organization
(DPO). Students and parents can buy and sell textbooks and/or clothing and offer advice to ensure each
gentleman is ready for a great experience in the upcoming school year.

How does the Book Swap and Uniform Sale work?
The book swap is conducted in the style of a “flea market or “garage sale”. Returning students and their
families set up displays either on tables or the back of vehicles in the rear parking lot to sell gently used
items that a DeMatha student might need for the new school year. Bring CASH to purchase these items.

What books do I buy for my son?
The 2016-2017 book list for each class is available on www.dematha.org for each class. Bring your son’s
class schedule and book list. Double check the USBN and ISBN numbers of books you need before
purchasing used books! It’s a good idea to get the name and phone number of the family you purchase
books from just in case it is the wrong version.

Are books the only items I can purchase?
The DPO will be selling used uniforms, Spirit Gear and more in the Antler Room (Cafeteria)! Show
your school spirit with the DPO Spirit Gear. Go Stags! The returning students and their families typically
sell textbooks, novels, reference books, athletic wear, science lab kits, goggles and school uniforms. Skye
Uniforms will also be available to take measurements and orders for new school uniforms in the Antler
Room.

Where do I park?
Sellers should park in the rear lot of DeMatha on the 43rd Avenue side of the school campus. Freshmen
books/items – Parking row closest to the building; Sophomore books/items – 2nd row from the building;
Junior book/items – 3rd row from the building; Senior books/items – Parking row next to the iron fence.
Buyers should park in the front lots of DeMatha on the Route 1 side of the school campus and walk
down to the Rear Parking Lot.

Do I need to register or inform anyone if I want to sell items at the Book Swap?
No. Sellers should arrive in the rear parking lot of DeMatha at 7:30 am to set up their area.

Will there be a Help Desk?
Yes. The DPO Help Desk is located in the Antler Room (Cafeteria). The DPO Help Desk will answer
any questions you may have as well as assist your son with finding gently used (pre-washed) uniforms at
a discount price.

What forms of payment are accepted?
Bring cash to purchase items from returning students and their families. The DPO and Skye Uniforms
accept cash, check, debit or credit card payments.
