The Institute is located in the State Capital of Bhubaneswar, by the side o f B h u b a n e s w a r, Nandankanan Road at Chandaka Industrial Estate. The Place is well connected with frequent city bus service. The aim of the Institute is to impart craftsmen training approved by NCVT to make the educated unemployed youth suitable for industrial employment and gainful self employment.Full fledged infrastructure of KIIT ITI and sophistication available at other constituent wings of KIIT offer unparallel expertise and exposure to its students. KIIT has its own 1750 bedded hospital having experienced physicians and pharmacists for providing Medical aid to students. A Post Office is functioning in KIIT Campus to extend postal service. Banking facility is provided in the Campus by Allahabad Bank, Oriental Bank of Commerce and Pubjab National Bank. ATMs of all major banks are located in the campus. Application in the prescribed form for admission into Craftsmen training courses is invited from eligible candidates within 30 days from the date of publication of HSC result / Advertisement by the Institute. Each envelop containing application shall be prominently super-scribed “Application for admission into Craftsmen Training; ITI course 2015-16’’. Selection Procedure a. Admission is open to any Indian national meeting eligibility criteria. b. The candidates should confirm to minimum prescribed physical standard for craftsmen training and should produce a Medical Certificate to that effect. c. The candidates selected by the selection committee of the institute will be intimated by post to take admission by due date. d. All the original certificates along with HSC/Class-X mark sheet, School/ College Leaving Certificate from the Institution last attended, Blood Grouping certificate with one set Xerox/ photo copies must be deposited at the time of admission along with 3 Nos. of passport size photograph. 04 2015 g. The trade of their choice can be allotted subject to availability of seats in the particular trade and the candidate's aptitude for the same. h. Reservation of seats has been made as per government guideline for reserved categories keeping in view the Academic standards and numbers of applications received. Training Curriculum The Institute maintains a rigid training standard as prescribed in the training Manual issued by DGET, New Delhi. During the training period, regular monthly tests are conducted to evaluate the performances of the trainees. (In order to bring the trainees of poor standard to an average level, extra efforts are made by conducting coaching classes. As a result of this, performance of our trainees are always appreciated by all concerned.) Implementation of Semester System in ITI st Semester system pattern adopted in the Craftsmen Training Scheme from the year 2013. Training in 1 Semester will be started from 1st week of August. On completion of the Training period of a semester, Trade Testing would be done under the aegis of NCVT on July and January every year. Examination for each Semester both for Theory; Workshop Calculation Science, Engg. Drg., Employability Skills and Trade practical will be conducted based on the syllabus of the corresponding Semester. A trainee has to secure pass marks in each subject (including sessional) in each semester for award of NTC. Five additional chances may be given to a failed trainee within a period of three years to pass each semester. 05 Industrial Training Institute Further, since this is a time-bound training programme, everyday of training activities is considered to be important. Therefore, the holidays of the Institute are restricted only to the days declared by the State Government. For better training performance, a trainee should have not less than 80% attendance. A trainee found irregular in attendance will either be detained in the class till he/ she secures prescribed percentage of attendance or finally discharged from the Institute. Where a trainee abstains himself / herself for more than 50% of classes for whatever reason he/ she will not be allowed to continue his/ her training. In case of below average and irregular trainees, the progress and attendance information are reported to the guardian. Hostel Accommodation st nd The Institute has two hostels for both 1 year and 2 year trainees. The teaching staff regularly visit hostels and guide the trainees in their study matters. The Craftsmen training is a time bound programme and fully practical oriented. Sometimes special classes are conducted beyond the training hours. It is therefore advised that trainees should prefer to stay in the hostel for their better study and guidance from the faculty members. Accordingly a period for computer Class has been provided in the TIME TABLE. MS OFFICE, EXCEL, POWER POINT and Internet are taught in this computer training programme. AutoCAD TRAINING PROGRAMME: The Institute also offers certificate of AutoCAD training along with our general Computer trg.. Graphic, Structural, Lay out and Engineering drawings both in 2D and 3D are taught at some nominal charges. The reputed AutoCAD training Organizations are assigned to conduct these classes. New modern up to date computer machines are installed for this purpose. Globalize accepted certificates are given to successful trainees of this course. INDUSTRIAL TOUR: The Institute provides two weeks industrial tour for the ITI students which help them have a practical exposure in respective field. The institute will provide accommodation there and students will gain practical knowledge effectively and participate meaningfully with rapid changing machineries & equipments. RECRUITMENT / PLACEMENT BASED TRAINING ACTIVITY: Besides their traditional practicals as per DGE & T Norm Some Special Placement Based Training Programmes are also conducted by Well Experienced Technicians and Experts. The course module of this programme is designed to suit the concerned industry or organization. 07 Industrial Training Institute SEMINAR / WORKSHOP: The institute also conducts seminars, symposium and workshops to create general awareness among students regarding modern pedagogy on working of modern industries by inviting eminent Engineers, professionals from established industries and Govt. sectors. The institute also offers many job oriented practical works. VALUE ADDED TRAINING PROGRAMME: Keeping in view the need of the Industries specially small ones, a multiskill value added training programme is conducted at the fag end of the institutional training according to the course curriculum specially designed to gain working knowledge in allied trades in order to make the trainees fit to cater to the need of small and tiny industries as well as for benefit in gainful self employment. The training programme is organized in our Central Workshop, advanced laboratories of degree Engg. Wing, Local prospective Industries and institution like central Tool Room & Training Centre (CTTC) , Central Institute of Plastic Engg. and Technology (CIPET) etc. Under this programme comprehensive training is given on Communication Skill, Spoken English, Aptitude test, Quantitative Ability and reasoning to make students fit to the present market demand, Regular classes under Entrepreneurship development programme are organized inviting resource persons from I.E.D, NABARD, DIC, SIDBI and other commercial Banks. TRAINING & PLACEMENT CELL KIIT has its own “PLACEMENT COORDINATION CELL” to arrange post-examination engagement to the successful trainees.
