Introduction of cable bunches into the cabinets is greatly simplified, thereby reducing installation times significantly. Data Centres typically contain a combination of 600 and 800mm width cabinets. The 600mm wide cabinets are used for housing Servers, whereas the 800mm wide cabinets are configured for housing 19” rack-mount Networking equipment at the centre and the 100mm of additional space at either side is used for routing data cables. This practice requires the ordering and stocking of two styles of cabinets, and can lead to a wasteful use of expensive data centre space. The IMPress Cabling Frame makes it possible to combine both functions within a single cabinet of 600mm width that houses the Servers as well as the Network equipment. The Cabling Frame itself occupies just 200mm of floor space between adjoining cabinets and provides all the facilities needed for the orderly management, routing and distribution of cable bunches to either of the two adjacent cabinets. Any number of the IMPress Cabling Frames maybe bayed alternately between IMPress cabinets. The first name in enclosure systems 16/7/10 www.apwpresident.com TM Features High level of accessibility to the whole cabling area _ simplifies installation activity 1 1 The IMPress Cabling Frame has cable entry provisions which allow completion of cable drawing activity at Data Centers before the racks are positioned. Pre-drawn cable bunches – including Patch Panels – can be gathered into the Cabling Frame through the open Entry Ports at front or rear, either from overhead or underfloor. The Entry Ports can be covered with Gland Plates or lined with optional Cable Brushes. All round Cable Entry options. Brush-lined entry ports at top & bottom to suit overhead or underfloor cabling Complete flexibility for inter-rack cabling and for routing of cables from front-to-back or back-to-front CABLE ENTRY PORTS 3 Full height Cabling Baskets at the center simplify structured cabling Vertical Cable Channels at front & rear support dense cabling Wire Hangers at 1U pitch along the front and rear support cable distribution to adjoining cabinets 4 Provision to mount Patch Panels, Brush Panels, or Blank Panels Can be installed after “cable pulling” has been done 2 2 2 IMPress Cabling Frames can be fitted with optional full height Cable Baskets for supporting structured cabling. The Cable Basket consists of a pair of wire frames made of 4mm steel wires welded together in a rectangular pattern so as to form an open grid, or mesh. The entire frame is PVC coated to ensure a smooth finish that is free of sharp edges so as to prevent damage to optical fiber cables. 4 3 CABLE SUPPORTS 7 CABLE BASKETS - for Structured Cabling 6 Cable Basket 5 3 CABLE CHANNELS IMPress Cable Channels are designed to support dense cabling. These full height channels are positioned at the front and /or rear of the Cabling Frames and aligned with the Cable Entry ports at the top and bottom. 1 Cable Feed-through Port with Brushes 5 CABLE FEED THROUGH - 3U The first name in enclosure systems Cable Channels for IMPress Cabling Frames are provided with a pair of “Feed Through” ports. These ports are 3U wide and suitable for mounting 19” equipment vertically. They can be used for fixing upto 3 Patch Panels of 1U each, or a pair of Brush Panels 6 for passage of cable bunches, or covered with 19” Blank Panels. 7 "©2010 APW President Systems Limited. All Rights Reserved.”“Patent Pending” “Design Registration Pending” 16/7/10 The Cable Channels have provisions for fixing a variety of Cable Loops, Cable Ties, and other Cable Management accessories, as well as Wire Hangers for the distribution of cables horizontally into the adjoining cabinets. 4 CABLE HANGERS Cable Hangers are mounted on either sides of the vertical Cable Channels at ” the front and rear of IMPress Cabling Frames. These Hangers – spaced 1U apart – provide support to bunches of UTP cables that are routed horizontally to the front of equipment in the cabinets adjoining the Cabling Frame. The Cable Hangers are formed from 4mm steel wires and are PVC coated to ensure a smooth surface that is free of sharp edges so as to prevent damage to cables.
