Salestax,ifapplicable,isshownseparatelyon eachbill. Suffolk Property Tax Adjustment –Theamountcollected fromSuffolkCountycustomersrepresentingtheoverpaymentof propertytaxestotheShorehamtaxingjurisdictionsfromacourtorderedlegalsettlementdatedJanuary11,2000. Revenue Decoupling Adjustment (Effective 3/1/16) – Thisbillingadjustmentisusedbyutilitiestoseparate,ordecouple, revenuefromenergysalesandencourageprogramsthathelp customersuselessenergy.Itbalancestheactualrevenuecollected fromdeliveryrateswiththeauthorizedrevenuetarget.Theadjustment isacreditwhenexcessrevenueisrefundedtocustomersorachargeto avoidashortfallintherevenuerequiredtorunandmaintainthe electricsystem. Late Payment Charge –Alatepaymentchargeattherateof oneandone-halfpercent(1.5%)permonthlybillingperiodwillbe appliedifpaymentisnotreceivedbythe“Payby”dateonthebill. Customerswhomakepaymentsontimeunderthetermsofadeferred paymentagreementarenotsubjecttolatepaymentcharges.Billspaid bytheDepartmentofSocialServicesoranothergovernmentalentity arenotsubjecttolatepaymentcharges.
