This addendum shall form an integral part of the specifications and plans for the
above project and shall be read in conjunction therewith. This addendum shall
however, take precedence over all requirements of the previously issued
specifications and plans which it may prove to be at variance, unless otherwise
clarified by the Project Coordinator. Please initial this Addendum and enclose it
with your submission.
1. A certificate of soil analysis per MOE guidelines will be presented to the parking lot
contractor by the Construction Manager.
For tendering purposes the bidders are to assume that the soils qualify for table 1,
agricultural.

above project and shall be read in conjunction therewith. This addendum shall

clarified by the Project Coordinator. Please initial this Addendum and enclose it
with your submission.
1. The revised tender form is attached, in its entirety. All bids must be submitted on the
revised tender forms.
2. The curbs around the trees at Karl Homuth are precast curbs not wood. The tender
form has been revised accordingly.
3. The Construction Manager will have the soil tested and provide a certificate for
disposal.
4. The parking lot contractors will be allowed to work during daylight hours.
Coordination is required to allow for public use of the facilities.
5. The “Form of Tender” allows for two alternatives, Excavation and replacement of the
granulars and asphalt and replacement of the asphalt only. Tenders will be awarded
based on the selected bidder for the chosen alternative.
6. The 10 % bid bond will be based on the total for the more expensive alternative.
7. Guarantee and warranty will be one year from the date of “Substantial Completion”
for the overall project. Overall Substantial Completion is anticipated to be in
December of 2010.
8. Replacement of the asphalt under the exit stair on the north side of the building at the
Preston Arena is not required. The quantity of this asphalt has been deducted from the
quantities in the tender form.
9. Provide an estimate of the total employee hours on this project. Subcontractor must
provide the total actual hours of work on a monthly basis with each invoice. This is
an “Infrastructure Project” funded by the Federal and Provincial Governments, who
require a report on total employee hours created by this project including clerical
staff. A space is provided in the Tender Form to show the estimated hours.

Schedule: The undersigned agrees to meet the schedule in the Bid Documents. The

Subcontractor shall proceed with diligence, place all orders for materials and products in
such time that delays will not occur and agrees to complete all the work of the contract in
accordance with the overall project schedule and agrees to obtain substantial performance
as required by the Project Construction Schedule.
Bonding: An agreement to Bond for 50 % Performance Bond and 50 % Labour and
Material Payment Bond is required to be included with the Bid. The cost of such bonds
has been included in the Bid price and includes for a term covering the warranty period
and any extended warranty period specified for the work of this Bid.
