Transfer Agreement
Fall 2015 – Summer 2018

This agreement was developed to serve as a tool that illustrates the academic pathway from CNM to NMSU. Completion of the listed
coursework within this agreement will earn student an Associate of Applied Science in Computer Information Systems with Concentration
and directly apply his/her credit hours to NMSU’s Bachelor of Information and Communication Technology. In addition, students may also
choose to complete courses from the “Additional Coursework” section. Courses listed in the “Additional Coursework” section are
NMSU B.I.C.T. program requirement with course equivalents offered at CNM. Completion of the A.A.S. coursework and “Additional
Coursework” section will satisfy NMSU’s B.I.C.T. coursework admission requirements.

Upon transfer, students will be required to complete 6 credit hours of upper division “Viewing a Wider World” requirements and 42 credit
hours of Information and Communication Technology courses. The 42 + 6 credit hours will fulfill the 48 upper division credit hours required
for the Bachelor of Information and Communication Technology.

NMSU’s Bachelor of Information and Communication Technology is a Distance Education program, with the completion of the B.I.C.T.

CNM A.A.S. in CIS concentrations allow the option of ENG 1119 or ENG 2219 to complete program Oral and Writing requirements. NMSU’s
requirement is ENG 218G of which CNM’s ENG 2219 will fulfill, but has a prerequisite of ENG 1102. ENG 1119 will not fulfill NMSU’s ENG 218G.
Student can meet NMSU requirement in one of two ways: Complete ENG 1119 for AAS requirement and complete ENG 218G upon transfer at NMSU or
complete CNM’s ENG 2219 with prerequisite ENG 1102 which fulfills NMSU’s ENG 218G requirement.

CIS 1410 is completed as a program requirement for Cloud Technology, Network Administration and Systems Administration concentrations; and
completed as a program approved elective for Computer Programming and Database Technology concentrations.
CNM’s CIS 2235 Java Programming will transfer to NMSU and satisfy the ICT 352 Java Programming for ICT course requirement, but will not satisfy
upper division requirements.
