This range consists of transformers complying
with the following specification:
m three-phase transformers, for pole mounting
in overhead systems. For the hanging on poles,
in an inclined position, they are equipped with a
hook in accordance with EDF technical specification HN 52 S 20 (1986);
m step-down type (1);
m rated frequency: 50 Hz (6);
m maximum ambient temperature : 40°C (5);
m mineral oil immersed (1);
m hermetically sealed with integral filling (1);
m bolted cover on corrugated tank;
m ONAN type natural cooling;
m anti-corrosive treatment : tank and cover fully
hot dip galvanized;
m anti-corrosive coating;
m final colour grey RAL 7033.
The following fittings may be provided as an
option:
m 3 special “seaside” HV porcelain bushings;
m 3 HV mobile plug-in connectors 250 A / 24 kV,
straight or elbow (the cable characteristics
should always be specified);
m polyester box equipped with Gardy circuitbreakers:
M D 165 for 50 and 100 kVA;
M D 265 T for 160 kVA,
protection through thermal image tripping device:
M 3T/6T bicalibre up to 100 kVA inclusive;
M 7T for 160 kVA;
Note: Gardy circuit-breakers are in accordance
with EDF specifications HN 63 S 11 (1984) and
approved by EDF technical departments.
m manual mechanical control, lockable in both
positions (connected or disconnected).
The circuit-breaker box and its mechanical
control can not be mounted on poles of different section or nature.

– “Electricité de France” technical specification

basic fittings
Each tranformer includes:
m 1 off-circuit tappings switch with padlocking
located on the cover ; this switch operates on
the highest rated voltage to bring the transformer to the supply voltage-actual value;
m 3 HV porcelain bushings on the cover;
m 4 LV porcelain bushings - 250 A on the small
side of the tank;
m 1 LV bushing protection (only for storage and
handling);
m 1 earthing terminal on the hanging device;
m 2 lifting and untanking lugs;
m 1 rating plate fixed on the small side of the
tank;
m 1 filling plug;
m protection index IP 00.

This range consists of transformers complying
with the following specification:
m three-phase transformers, 50 or 60 Hz,
for indoor or outdoor use (installation to be
specified);
m maximum ambient temperature: 40°C (5);
m mineral oil immersed (other dielectric upon
request);
m breathing type with conservator ;
m cover bolted on tank or welded bell type as
per specification;
m ONAN, ONAF, ODAF or ODWF cooling type;
m standard anti-corrosion surface treatment
and coating (1);
m final colour grey RAL 7033 (1).

These transformers comply with the following
standards (1):
– IEC standards;
– French standards NFC 52 100 (1990).
basic fittings
Each tranformer includes:
m 1 off-circuit tappings switch with padlocking
located on the cover ; this switch operates on
the highest rated voltage to bring the
transformer to the supply voltage-actual value
(generally ± 5%, 3 or 5 positions);
m porcelain bushings on primary and secondary
sides;
m 2 earthing terminals;
m 1 conservator with level indicator tube;
m 1 silicagel airdryer;
m 1 Buchholz relay with 2 contacts (alarm and
tripping);
m 1 thermostat with two contact (alarm and
tripping);
m 1 dial type thermometer (without contact);
m 4 directional flat rollers;
m lifting and/or untanking lugs;
m 1 rating plate;
m 1 filling plug;
m 1 draining device and treatment valve with
sampler.
options
M
1 protective relay and eventually, on request:
1 parallel operation device;
M 1 voltage regulator with voltage drop equalizer;
M 1 remote indicator of tap changer position.
m magnetic level indicator (with or without
contact, please specify);
m HV fixed plug-in connectors HN 52 S 61:
M 250, 400, 630 or 1250 A - 24 kV;
M 400, 630 or 1250 A - 36 kV.
m HV mobile plug-in connectors HN 52 S 61,
straight or elbow (the cable characteristics
should be specified);
m condenser bushings;
m increased creepage distance bushings;
m 1 bonnet on HV bushings:
M in the air for connection by dry cables or busducts (except rated insulation level 72.5 kV) ;
M oil immersed, hermetically sealed for cable
connection;
M SF6 immersed, hermetically sealed for
connection by busbars on oil/SF6 bushings;
m winding temperature indicator by thermal
image ;
m current transformer:
M “bushing” type around terminals;
M standard type for earth fault current detector;
m 1 overpressure valve (with or without
contact, please specify);
m 1 automatic oil retaining valve (between
conservator and tank);
m “Atmoseal” oil protection system;
m 1 treatment valve at the upper part of the tank;
m 1 insulation valve for radiators;
m 4 jacking lugs with hauling eyes.

The following fittings may be provided as an
option:
m 1 on-load tap changer in the main tank
(generally ± 12% - 19 positions maximum) with:
M 1 motor drive unit fitted on tank;
M 1 tap changer compartment in the conservator
with a level indicator;
France Transfo guarantees that its transformers are
assembled using components that are both new and
PCB-free (< 2 ppm level), in strict compliance with the
current standards.

Typical characteristics are indicated in the table
below up to 30 MVA / 72.5 kV. Above, please
consult us. They correspond to transformers of
ONAN type cooling (3), with or without tap
changer.
It is possible to develop equipment with totally
different values of voltage and rated impedance
voltage. In this case, dimensions and weights
are also different.

Typical dimensions and weights are indicated in
the table below for mineral oil immersed
transformers, completely set up* with a standard
type cooling.
They correspond to transformers intented for
systems of 7.2 to 72.5 kV having electrical
characteristics as indicated in the previous table.
For other voltages, other characteristics or
when the transformers are immersed in another
dielectric, dimensions and weights would be
different, please, consult us.

Transformers 20 to 25 MVA, with off-voltage switch or

* For the protection of some components or the compliance
with the railway or road regulations, the transformers could
be delivered partially dismantled.
Casual arrangements such as bars and cables supports, flexible connectors, etc. are to be provided the contractors in order to avoid mechanical stresses on the transformer flat-bars and bushings.
