The Limited Co-op is just that: limited. Limited in size, limited in scope, limited in membership. While all SCCCHE
families are welcome to participate, you are strongly encouraged to pray about your involvement and how TLC fits into
your family goals and schedule for this season. Our purpose is to meet the need for some enrichment classes while
Master’s Lyceum is on hiatus.
Families who participate are expected to:




Have a parent or responsible adult ON SITE while children are in classes.
Be actively involved as a teacher, proctor, or volunteer if at all possible.
Observe all SCCCHE modesty guidelines. (Specifically: covered shoulders and sleeves; modest hem, waist, and
neck lines; undergarments/straps should not be visible.) Front desk will have duct tape, ugly cardigan sweaters,
and an oversize modesty cover-all. If in doubt, add a sweater, turtleneck, leggings, belt, or burka. 
At all times, glorify our Lord through appropriate behavior and speech.
Registration process: What a HUGE blessing to have an online registration system! As you prepare for classes, please
keep the following in mind:





PRAY about which classes, if any, are God’s will for your family this semester.
Create your family profile at www.thelimitedcoop.org
Once registration opens, sign up for any volunteer positions, then register children for classes.
After locking in your family choices, print out two (2) copies of the registration form. You will also need to print
the waiver form, check the boxes, and sign & date it as required.
Parent/payment meeting TBA. Bring 2 copies of your registration and the signed waiver form, along with all
individual payment checks.
Class & Facility Fees:




Each family is asked to give a $10.00 facility fee payable to “First Church of the Nazarene”
Each family is asked to give a $5.00 TLC fee payable to “SCCCHE” to cover co-op costs.
Individual class fees are set by teachers. Checks payable to each teacher are STRONGLY recommended. Exact
cash in separate envelopes labeled with teacher’s name will be accepted, but please be aware the registration
team cannot accept responsibility for any missing monies. If you prefer to pay by cash, consider asking a friend
to write out checks for you.
Refunds: since you have earnestly prayed about TLC before signing up for classes, there should be no reason to
ask for a refund. In bizarre and extenuating circumstances, a refund may be granted prior to the first class
session.
TLC Classes:





Classes start at 8:30, 9:30, and 10:30. Please wait quietly in the hall if class is not yet completed.
Teachers: All teachers have volunteered their time and creativity to teach classes. Please respect their class
parameters—abide by student age ranges. Exceptions may be granted in rare instances. Contact the teacher
directly to find out.
o Teachers are responsible to line up a substitute in the event of an absence.
o Teachers are expected to hand out a class schedule or syllabus on or before the first day of class.
o For this semester, TLC teachers are SCCCHE members & homeschool parents, or have been affiliated
with Master’s Lyceum in previous semesters.
Proctors:
o If you volunteer to proctor a class, please arrive on time and attend faithfully or arrange for a substitute.
o Proctors are not to use electronic devices while serving in a class.
o Nursery care will be available for proctors’ and teachers’ children while parents are actively serving.
Students:
o Have cell phones turned OFF and put away. Teachers have the prerogative to collect phones while class
is in session.
o Come to class on time, with any required homework completed, and all supplies requested.
o Act respectfully toward teachers, proctors, fellow students, and all adults.
Parents & children not in classes:
o Parents are asked to volunteer if at all possible. Even if you do not have an assigned slot, please be
available to fill in as needed.
o Moms, if you have a quiet hour, it may be a great time to talk with and encourage other moms in their
homeschool journey.
o You are also welcome to take your non-student children outside to the playground.
o If you are watching your small children, you could volunteer for the nursery.
o FOOD MAY BE EATEN OUTSIDE OR IN THE NURSERY AREA.
o Your older children, if not in class or outside with you, are encouraged to read or do schoolwork as they
quietly sit beside you in the hallway. Electronic devices, unless being used to complete a school
assignment, should not be part of the TLC experience.
When you are here…





Please wear a nametag. Each family is asked to provide/bring/keep their own. You may use lanyards, pin or
clip-ons, address labels… Have your student’s name clearly written (in English) and attached to the shoulder area
so it is easily read.
Please have all belongings clearly marked with your name (including but not limited to: coats, folders, cups,
hats, strollers, notebooks, puppets…). “Found” items can only be returned if they are labeled.
Children under age 16 are not permitted to go outside, either to the parking lot or playground, without an adult.
Adults have the responsibility to address any inappropriate speech or behavior.
o If you see a child being childish, please lovingly reprove them.
o If a teen is being teenish, please lovingly reprove them.
o If a fellow parent appears to be struggling, please PRAY FIRST, and then offer whatever help you can.
Students have the responsibility to respectfully and cheerfully respond to adult requests.
Please bring weekly:




A positive attitude and a servant’s heart.
Any needed class supplies (LABELED with your name)
Any required class homework.
Nametags for everyone attending.
Please leave at home:



Pets.
Messy or crumbly snacks, chewing gum, and drinks lacking spill-proof lids. EAT FOOD OUTSIDE OR IN NURSERY.
Electronic devices which would distract or limit interaction with others.
Sick children: fever, diarrhea, or vomiting within 24 hours.
Electronic Devices Policy:


Electronic devices, especially those used for entertainment purposes, are to be limited in use at TLC (including
but not limited to: phones, computers, tablets, i-whatevers, games, videos, earpieces, and music players).
o Student phones are to be turned OFF during class, and any ear pieces should be put away in backpacks
or purses. Teachers have the prerogative to retain any phones/devices during class time.
o While in class, proctor and teacher electronics should only be used in urgent circumstances, unless
incorporated as part of the academic process.
o While waiting between or during classes, parents and non-student children should refrain from using
devices unless it is academically enriching or of urgent necessity.
The purpose of this policy is not to impoverish your life, but rather to enrich it. Enjoy the moments of reading to
your children, participating in discussions with fellow moms, serving the group by volunteering in a classroom,
watching the playground….and yes, you may take pictures.
Facility: We have been granted the use of the First Church of the Nazarene. What a wonderful blessing! Please respect
God’s house and the loving gifts of the Nazarene congregation by:

snack.

Even though we don’t have to vacuum or clean bathrooms, please be alert to debris and assist with any needed
cleanup. Fresh messes are always easier to deal with…please contact Bonnie regarding messy emergencies.
Misc:


In the event of inclement weather, follow school closings for Belleville/Whiteside school. Email communication
will be sent if possible.
If the fire alarm goes off, all classes will exit the building with their teachers and go to the far end of the parking
lot. Proctors, please stay with your class. Parents, please help the nursery workers to evacuate small children.
