Training contents:
System components for digital signal processing: Trainees
get an overview of the importance of digital signal
processing. During the course, they learn about the
components of a digital signal processing system, their
classifications and how they work. The individual sections
illustrate the fundamental aspects of the theory behind digital
transfer functions and how they are implemented.
Simple transfer functions: This section develops the
fundamentals of digital signal processing and includes
carrying out the first experiments with simple transfer
functions.
Signal synthesis: The experiment sections are concerned
with the synthesis of various signal shapes with the help
of digital resonators and discrete integrators. The
knowledge learned is put to use in practical experiments.
Signal analysis: Fourier transformation is a fundamental
technique in signal processing. It concerns the conversion
of signals from the time domain to the frequency domain.
Trainees get an idea of how FFT (fast Fourier
transformation) works and how to use it in practical
experiments involving the ARM CORTEX M3 module.
Signal processing: Trainees learn the fundamentals behind
designing digital filters. This involves them implementing in
practice the theoretical basics for calculating the features
of digital filters using design software and thereby creating
their own DSP systems with the 32-bit ARM CORTEX M3
module.
DSP applications: The final section illustrates some
possible applications in the sphere of digital audio signal
processing, which can be tried out by trainees in practical
experiments.

Radar technology
Radar technology
“Radio detection and ranging” is commonly known by its acronym “radar” and refers to a method of using radio
waves to detect the location and distance of objects by measuring the time it takes the electromagnetic waves
to reflect from the object. Radar has developed from what was initially a purely military application and is
deployed nowadays in air traffic control, coast guard use, traffic monitoring, safety and many related areas.
Active radar equipment mostly provides an image and is usually designed in the form of a pulse radar device.
Primary and secondary radar systems are both common, either passively evaluating the radar echo from a
target, or utilising active transponders on the target objects, which respond to incoming pulses and transmit an
answering signal.

This training system, specially designed for educational
purposes, operates without any hazardous high-frequency
radiation. The principle of a radar system is explained using
authentic measurements. The central component of the training
system is a rotating radar base station with a fan beam antenna.
Echoes from ultrasonic pulses are digitalised and transmitted via
a wireless interface to a computer. The targets are then displayed
on a screen in real time. The secondary radar transponder in the
system supports mode Alpha (identification) and mode Charlie
(altitude). The integrated course explains the functionality and
areas of application of primary and secondary radar system by
means of theoretical content, animated images and interactive
tests of knowledge. The knowledge is then cemented with the
help of numerous illustrative experiments. Thanks to the physical
analogies between UHF radar and ultrasound, the knowledge
gained is directly applicable to radar technology.

Cables are the most common method of connecting computers and peripherals together in a network, but often
not the cheapest and certainly not the most flexible. Especially not if your offices are spread across several
buildings, or if you are using an external warehouse. For some time now, WLAN (wireless local area network)
technology has allowed point-to-point connections to be realized cheaply and easily over long distances.

AirCheck is suitable for all Wi-Fi technologies as well as fault
identification, detection of transmission channels, and connection
tests. It enables quick remedy of the most common vulnerabilities of
Wi-Fi, including:
Problems with network coverage
Overload of networks and channels
Radio-frequency interference
Connection problems
Missed access points
Unauthorized access points
Security settings
Client-side problems
The AirCheck Manager software immediately generates reports and
documentation. You can also use it to set up different profiles,
besides managing network and security settings for single device or
a whole series of AirCheck testers.
Features of the AirCheck product:
Supports 802.11a/b/g/n
Turns on within three seconds, and automatically begins
searching for networks, access points (APs) and channel
activity.
At just one or two pushes of a button, an intuitive user
interface provides the answer you are looking for on a bright
colour display.
Detects security settings for each network and access point:
Open, WEP, WPA, WPA2 and/or 802.1x. Indicates the
bandwidth occupied by 802.11 traffic and interference on
individual transmission channels, and the APs which currently
have access to them.
Marks unauthorized APs. The LOCATE function can be used to
detect such APs. An optional directional antenna permits even
faster searching.
Establishes connections to networks or particular APs via
WEP, WPA, WPA2 and / or 802.1x. Determines IP addresses
and sends ping signals.

The Internet has achieved the status of the “people’s network”. The plan to use it for telephony is now not far
away. The result is Internet protocol telephony or VoIP, a technology that makes it possible to use IP
infrastructure for telephone service and in turn, replace the traditional telephone technology.

This modular training system allows a perfect integration of telecommunications technology into education labs.
Up to 20 groups (virtual VoIP telecommunication PBX) can conduct their projects simultaneously using the
system. The basic equipment consists of a 19" VoIP server and a 19" PBX. If required, a Fast Ethernet switch
and patch panels can be ordered to connect the internal lab telecommunications network. Conventional patch
cables can be flexibly routed to achieve structured cabling for analog and digital laboratory communication. Two
different approaches are possible: Setting up a VoIP private branch exchange with just an Ethernet
infrastructure, or continued use of an existing ISDN or POTS infrastructure with smooth migration to VoIP
technology.
Scalable 19" server with 64-bit operating system and advanced virtualization software.
Simultaneous operation of up to 20 virtual, software-based private branch exchanges.
Conventional VoIP-ISDN-POTS PBX in a 19" rack format.
Connection and commutation technology for autonomous operation and seamless integration into
existent networks.
The following projects can be implemented with this equipment:
1. Customer order: Planning and establishment of enterprise infrastructure.
Commissioning of a VoIP PBX.
Installation and configuration of additional modules: Answering machine, IVR, CLIP, CLIR, Musicon-Hold, conference etc.
Installation and configuration of VoIP terminal devices.
Handover and briefing.
2. Customer order: Planning and setup of a VoIP PBX for several decentral locations.
3. Assembly project: Installation of a network comprising several private branch exchanges.
4. Customer order: Commissioning of a conventional PBX.
Configuration of an ISDN network with up to 32 subscribers.
Configuration of an analog network with up to 16 subscribers.
5. Customer order: Migration from analog and ISDN telephony to VoIP.

This analog table-top telephone is more than a regular terminal
device – the high-quality exterior, its ergonomic use and convenience
functions make this unit your first choice.
The ergonomic location of the handset – fixed securely in
place by a magnet when idle – and the easily readable, threeline alphanumeric display make using this unit pure joy.
