Rules & Regulations
A. Eligibility
Children of all registered KEF members can participate in the competitions and will be grouped in the
following categories based on the age as given below.

B. Registration

For single events, each child has to register through Sargotsav 2015 registration section in the
KEF website http://kefkuwait.org/events/pregister/63/0 after login with parent’s login information
& by following the registration instructions posted in the Sargotsav 2015 Event page in KEF
website. In case of any difficulty, members may contact the respective Alumni
Representative. On-line Registration will commence from 30th November 2014.
On-line Registration will be closed on 25th December 2014.

Judges’ decision will be final. Judging criteria are subject to the interpretation of the Judging
committee.
Restricted Photography/Video will be allowed. Photography and Video shall not disturb
Participants, Judges and Audience.
Timing will be strictly controlled. Participants are required to report to the respective venue
at least 10 minutes before the announced start time of each event.
Grouping shall be done based on age. Participants are allowed to compete in the respective
Categories only for the single events. In Group Events children from any category can
participate.
Event duration specified shall be strictly followed; negative mark (5% deduction from total)
will be applicable to participants exceeding the specified time duration. Elocution,
Extempore, Light Music & Action Song will have a grace time of 15 seconds over the

stipulated event duration time. Evaluation shall be done only for the time period stipulated
for the event.
Organisers reserve the right to cancel any event in case of any unforeseen circumstances.
Events having less than three (3) participants at the time of Registration will be cancelled.
Registration will not be accepted after 25th December 2014.
Civil ID will be considered as proof of Date of birth.

9. Any violation of Rules & Regulation, if proven, will lead to the disqualification of participant/Team.
10. Jury of Appeal shall be available at the Venue for registering complaints.

* Sub Junior & Junior Girls will be allowed to participate either in Folk Dance or Solo Dance
only.
Ever Rolling Trophy will be awarded to the Alumni obtaining highest total points.

“Sargaprathibha” Trophies will be awarded to the best performer in each category (Sub
Junior, Junior & Senior).
Event Winner Trophies / Medals / Certificates will be awarded to First, Second & Third
position winners in each category of items.
Appreciation Certificates will be awarded to participants obtaining A Grade (Scores which are
75 % and above in relation to the score of the 1st prize winner (top 25%) in addition to 1st, 2nd
& 3rd places in each event.

Colouring the Sketch

 Subject will be given to the participant 10 minutes before the participant’s performance.
 All participants of the event should report 15 minutes prior to the start of the event to
the location specified to them by the Event Convenor. Participants coming after this cut
off time will not be considered for the event.
 Plain paper will be provided to take down notes for preparation; however notes or any
reference materials are not permitted in the competition area.
 Participants are not allowed to refer to any books/materials after receiving the topic.
 Mobile phones and / or similar electronic gadgets are strictly prohibited in the preparation
& competition areas.
 Reading & Reference notes are not permitted.
 Microphone with long cord (with or without stand) will be provided.

 Participant shall hand over the song for the dance in a USB flash drive (acceptable format:
Only MP3) duly marked with chest number to the Event Convener. No other song or file
should be present on the flash drive.
 Audio clarity of the song shall be the responsibility of the participant.
 Single participant only.
 Minimise the use of Props. Use of Props doesn’t carry any weightage.

 Minimum 5 and Maximum 9 children including instrument players for background music.
 Memory play (metronome, rhythm, bass, etc.), Programmed Keyboards and recorded
songs will not be permitted.
 Those who born on or after 23rd Jan. 1997 are eligible to participate.
 Any Malayalam song permitted.
 4 numbers microphones, 3 numbers instrument connection and power supply will be
provided (Please contact the concerned event convener if you have questions at least 3
days before the event)
 Group songs presented in Sargotsav 2014 will not be permitted.

 Those who born on or after 23rd Jan. 1997 are eligible to participate.
 Standard stage lighting and curtain provided shall only be used. External light source and
light modulation are not permitted.
 Props & Stage settings not permitted. (Any items held by participants hand will be
considered as props. For more details & clarifications, contact General Convener or Chief
Event convener.)

Alumni Show
Category
: One group from each Alumni
Alumni show is a stage performance and can be of one art form or a combination of different
art forms presented in a way to reveal the given theme. Common Theme for the Alumni show
of Sargotsav 2015 (A Child’s Dream) has already been communicated to all Alumni Arts
Secretaries directly.
Rules & Regulations
 Duration (max.) :15 minutes including stage preparation.
 Recorded music & sound can be used but character dialogue and introduction voice
limited to the children of the respective Alumni. Alumni show shall be presented in
Malayalam.
 Group of minimum 5 children and maximum of 12 can participate.
 Those born on or after 23rd Jan. 1997 are eligible to participate.
 1 no. each of black (non movable) & white/black (movable) curtains will be provided at the
back of the stage by Sargotsav Organisers. Additional curtains will not be permitted.
 Maximum 3 hanging micro phones will be provided if required & if requested in advance.
Control of Lighting, Audio& Curtain will be the responsibility of respective Alumni.
 Standard stage lighting provided shall be used and adults can help to set up the off stage
and on stage arrangements.
 The Alumni shows / stage shows presented in Sargotsav 2014 / KEF events 2014 will not be
permitted.
