What is College Credit Plus (CCP)?
● Formerly PSEO / Dual Enrollment
○ Lakewood High School on-site courses
○ Off-site courses / Online courses
○ Available for students in grades 7-12
● Courses count on high school transcript AND college transcript
Tuition and books are covered by district
Intent to Participate form due April 1st
Criteria for Admission
Submit application to the college / university, including
HS transcript
Each college/university may have different admission
requirements to meet criteria for a college readiness
score
ACT, SAT, or COMPASS
What Classes Can Students Take?
Dual Enrollment Options through the University of Akron and LCCC @
LHS (taught by LHS teachers)
Anatomy & Physiology (LCCC)
Intro to Psychology (U of Akron)
Social Psychology (U of Akron)
Beginning Spanish / Intermediate Spanish (U of Akron)
Pre-requisites / specific course criteria may be required
What Classes Can Students Take?
All classes taken through CCP must be part of a
certificate or degree program
Students may also choose courses that are not
available at the HS to further career exploration
(off-site)
Students must meet prerequisites for course
Colleges may have restricted courses for CCP
Credit Hour Limits
Students can take a maximum of 30 credit hours per
year
A maximum of 120 credit hours throughout
participation
Upon acceptance, students will work with their HS
Guidance Counselor to determine the exact
amount of credit hours that can be taken.
How to Determine Credit Hours
Count the number of secondary units the student is
earning for HS credit only
Multiply that number by 3
Subtract that number from 30
Steps for CCP
1. Turn in the Intent to Participate form by APRIL
1st to the LHS Guidance Office (no exceptions)
1. Complete College/University Application
1. Take a College Readiness Test (ACT/SAT)
The next ACT exam is APRIL 9th
Registration deadline is MARCH 4th
1. Discuss options with your Guidance Counselor
CCP Benefits
Earn credit for both HS & College
Complete college degree sooner & save money
Retain freshman status for financial aid
CCP credits are guaranteed to transfer to any state
university in Ohio
CCP Cautions
College grades are computed into GPA
Grades earned in college coursework may affect HS
class rank
Exposed to coursework geared towards adult learners
College transcripts are permanent records
If a course is failed or dropped after the deadline,
districts may seek financial restitution

The Intent to Participate Form is due:
Admission Requirements
• 2.3 cumulative high school GPA
• ACT or SAT scores
• ACT: Composite – 16; English – 20; Math – 22
• SAT: Combined Reading/Math – 770; Critical
Reading – 470; Math – 520
•
Students who meet composite and English score
requirements, but not math, may take CSU’s Math
Placement Test for admission.
Application Process
• Complete application
• Must be signed by student, parent/guardian, and
high school counselor
• Submit official high school transcript.
• Submit official ACT or SAT test scores.
• May be posted on official high school transcript
Important Dates
• Notify high school of your interest in CCP by
April 1
• Application Deadlines
• Fall Semester – June 15
• Spring Semester – November 1
• Summer Semester – April 15

College Credit Plus Admission Requirements
Preferred requirements for all applicants (grades 7-12):

3.00 cumulative GPA
AND
21 ACT composite or 990 SAT Math & Critical Reading combined score

The Office of Admissions will evaluate the cumulative GPA and ACT or SAT scores to
determine college readiness for applicants not meeting the preferred requirements.
•
A minimum ACT English score of 18 or SAT Critical Reading score of 430 is required for all
applicants (No exceptions.)

Print and Submit the Signature Page
Submit junior high or high school transcripts
Submit ACT or SAT scores (testing must be completed prior to the application deadlines)
The application deadline for the summer and fall semesters is April 15
The spring semester deadline is October 15
