 Activities related to the implementation of the INSPIRE European Directive (Infrastructure for
Spatial Information in Europe): datasets and metadata encodings, schema transformation from
heterogeneous source schemas to INSPIRE Data Specifications target schemas, validation
procedures to self validate datasets and metadata against the requirements contained in the
INSPIRE Directive, both using Proprietary software and Open Source Software.
 Activities of data harmonization and validation in the frame of the European Commission
Environment LIFE+ Program Project “ArcFUEL – Forest Fuel Mapping Service” (www.arcfuel.eu).
Creation of logically and semantically consistent mappings and subsequent transformation of the
data and metadata generated within the project in order to obtain compliance to the requirements of
INSPIRE Data Specification on Land Cover and INSPIRE Metadata Implementing Rules
 Activities of data harmonization and validation in the frame of “eENVplus – eEnvironmental services
for advanced application within INSPIRE”, an ICT-PSP cofounded project coordinated by GISIG
(IT), supporting at European and national levels the implementation of INSPIRE and SEIS through
deployment and integration of eEnvironmental services and application (www.eenvplus.eu).
