Corel® Authorized Academic Reseller Application
Please complete the following application form, making sure you indicate the tier for which
you are applying. Mail or fax the completed application to Corel’s Academic Department
at the address/fax number provided at the end of the document. Completion of the
following pages will help Corel assess your qualifications as a potential Corel® Authorized
Academic Reseller (or “Reseller”) and will help you understand Corel’s requirements for
authorization. If you have any questions regarding the application process or any other
aspect of the Corel Academic Program, please contact Corel. Your application and
acceptance into the Corel® Authorized Academic Reseller program is subject to approval
by Corel.
Please indicate the tier for which you are requesting Corel Academic reseller authorization:

Tier 1 – College/university campus or computer bookstores and companies that sell
only academic products. These resellers can sell both academic shrink-wrapped
products (software media) and Corel License Program (CLP) Academic licenses.
On-campus resellers must submit a letter from the University President or Provost
(or equivalent) verifying their relationship with the educational institution and their
status as the campus reseller.
Members of the following associations qualify as Tier 1 Academic resellers: National
Association of College Stores (NACS), Canadian Association of Campus Computer
Stores (CACCS) and Campus Computer Reseller Association (CCRA). Proof of
membership in any one of theses associations must be provided.
o
Tier 2 – Select authorized resellers and Large Account Resellers (LARs) that must
meet a minimum requirement of $10,000* per year in Academic sales. These
resellers can sell both Academic shrink-wrapped products (software media) and
CLP Academic licenses.
o
Tier 3 – Value Added Resellers (VARs), complete system integrators and companies
that do not exclusively sell academic products but wish to sell CLP Choice

licenses. These resellers can purchase one copy of the software media when they
have a minimum purchase order for three CLP Choice Academic licenses. Tier 3
Corel Authorized Academic Resellers are authorized to sell licenses only. Sales of
shrink-wrapped products are not permitted unless accompanied by a purchase
order. Please note, tier 3 resellers are not required to complete sections 2, 3, 4, 5 and
6 of this application.
*Dollar value will be in the currency of the country of residence.

Section 7 – Terms and Conditions
This application is submitted by the applicant to Corel for the purpose of becoming a Corel
Authorized Academic Reseller. Corel Authorized Academic Resellers are authorized to
purchase and resell Corel Academic products from Corel distributors subject to the terms
and conditions outlined below. Corel reserves the right to reject this application and, in the
event the application is accepted, to revoke the applicant’s authorization status at any time.
Failure to abide by the terms and conditions as set out in this application will result in
immediate termination.
End purchasers are defined as:

Any issues or concerns regarding the Academic definition outlined in Appendix A shall be
resolved at Corel’s sole discretion.
Corel Authorized Tier 1 Academic Resellers will be eligible to sell the following:
Shrink-wrapped copies of Corel’s Academic product line may be sold to qualified
students, staff and educational institutions as outlined in Appendix A. CLP Choice
Academic, CLP Universal Academic and CLP Freedom Academic licenses may be
sold to qualified institutions as outlined in Appendix A.
Corel Authorized Tier 2 Academic Resellers will be eligible to sell the following:
Shrink-wrapped copies of Corel’s Academic product line may be sold to qualified
students, staff and educational institutions as outlined in Appendix A. CLP Choice
Academic, CLP Universal Academic and CLP Freedom Academic licenses may be
sold to qualified institutions as outlined in Appendix A.
Corel Authorized Tier 3 Academic Resellers will be eligible to sell the following:
These resellers can sell CLP Choice licenses ONLY. Resellers may purchase one
shrink-wrapped product from Corel only when placing a purchase order for a
minimum of three CLP Choice licenses.
Organizations must be able to show proof of eligibility and applicable accreditation if
requested by Corel or a Corel Authorized Academic Reseller. Products may not be resold,
donated or used as a prize in any promotion, unless permission to do so has been expressly
granted by Corel’s Program Manager.
On-campus locations – may display Corel Academic products on store shelves.
Off-campus locations – may NOT display Corel Academic products on store shelves.
A RESELLER IS PERMITTED ONLY TO ADVERTISE THAT THEY OFFER COREL
ACADEMIC PRODUCTS AND LICENSES. ALL PURCHASERS OF COREL
ACADEMIC PRODUCTS MUST PHYSICALLY ATTEND THE RESELLER’S
LOCATION AND PROVIDE PROOF OF ELIGIBILITY TO PURCHASE ACADEMIC
PRODUCTS. INTERNET SALES OF ACADEMIC PRODUCTS ARE STRICTLY
PROHIBITED AND WILL RESULT IN IMMEDIATE TERMINATION OF YOUR
STATUS AS A COREL AUTHORIZED ACADEMIC RESELLER.
Section 8 – Audits
All Corel Authorized Academic Resellers are subject to audit at any time upon twenty-four
(24) hours notification by Corel. Reseller shall maintain complete and accurate records of its
promotion, marketing, sales and distribution of Corel academic products, and proof of
student/faculty identification for each academic product/license purchase for a period of one
(1) year from the date of purchase by the end user. If requested by Corel, all such records
and supporting documents, including proof of student/faculty identification, must be made
available.
Section 9 – Review of Application
This application is submitted by applicant to Corel for the purpose of becoming a Corel
Authorized Academic Reseller. Applicant acknowledges and agrees that Corel’s review of
this application does not ensure that applicant will be chosen as a Corel Authorized
Academic Reseller. Corel specifically reserves the right to accept or reject any application
submitted, at its sole discretion. THIS APPLICATION IS EFFECTIVE AND BINDING ON
COREL ONLY UPON THE APPLICANT’S RECEIPT OF CONFIRMATION OF
ACADEMIC RESELLER STATUS FROM COREL’S ACADEMIC DEPARTMENT.
FAILURE TO COMPLETE ALL SECTIONS OF THIS APPLICATION AS REQUIRED
WILL RENDER THIS APPLICATION INADMISSABLE.
Section 10 – Termination
If this application is accepted, Corel reserves the right to revoke the Reseller’s application
status at any time without prior notice. The Reseller acknowledges and agrees that it does
not expect its business relationship with Corel to continue for a minimum number of years
or, assuming acceptance of this application by Corel, that it will achieve a minimum profit
level. The parties agree that the termination provisions provided herein, in terms of both
notice and default, are reasonable and agree not to contest these provisions by way of
wrongful termination proceedings or otherwise. In the event of termination, the Reseller
agrees that Corel is not liable for compensation, reimbursement or damages on account of
the loss of prospective profits on anticipated orders or on account of expenditures,
investment, leases or commitments whatsoever in connection with the business or goodwill
of the Reseller.
Section 11 – Signature
BY SIGNING BELOW, APPLICANT REPRESENTS AND WARRANTS TO COREL
THAT THE INFORMATION PROVIDED TO COREL IS TRUE AND ACCURATE, AND
AGREES TO IMMEDIATELY PROVIDE COREL WITH ANY CHANGES IN
INFORMATION. IN THE EVENT SUCH INFORMATION IS DETERMINED TO BE
INACCURATE, APPLICANT ACKNOWLEDGES AND AGREES THAT COREL MAY,
AT ANY TIME AND AT COREL’S SOLE OPTION, TERMINATE APPLICANT AS A
COREL AUTHORIZED ACADEMIC RESELLER.

APPENDIX A
COREL’S EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTION DEFINITION
Those eligible to purchase academic shrink-wrapped software products or any academic license
programs include accredited schools, faculties, full or part-time matriculated students, hospitals,
supervisory organizations, libraries, museums, nonprofit organizations and correctional facilities.
Each of these eligible institutions is clearly defined below.
ACCREDITED SCHOOLS
These institutions may be either publicly or privately owned:
• Elementary schools
• Secondary schools
• Vocational schools
• Correspondence schools
• Junior colleges
• Colleges
• Universities or scientific or technical institutes recognized by the
appropriate ministry or department of education
FACULTIES
Faculty members are required to provide proof of current
employment.
• Faculty and/or staff members (full- or part-time) of any
accredited school
• Registered and/or state-recognized home educators providing
primary or secondary education
POST-SECONDARY STUDENTS
Full- or part-time matriculated students.Valid photo student
identification is required. If a photo ID is not available, then two
pieces of ID are required
