Explosionproof Motor Control Enclosures
Adalet explosionproof enclosures are the industry standard for housing and protecting motor control components
in hazardous locations. Explosionproof enclosures are suitable for housing circuit breakers, disconnects, motor
starters, and combination starters. Adalet offers the hazardous location enclosures both with and without a
motor starter or a combination motor starter/circuit breaker. These enclosures can accomodate the installation
of a variety of explosionproof operator devices and accessories. Design options include: pushbutton and switch
operators, pilot lights, push-to-test lights, breather/drains, auxiliary devices, Lamacoid nameplates, and control
transformers with fuse blocks. Enclosures are classified by UL, cUL as to explosion and fire hazards.

Explosionproof Circuit Breaker Enclosures
BREAKERS
• Circuit breakers are thermal magnetic type and are available in frame sizes
ranging from 15 to 800 amperes
• Also available as non-automatic circuit interrupters, without automatic
overload trip elements for load switching and isolation.
• Short circuit and overload protection must be provided by separate
protection device
• Breakers available for magnetic trip only
• Can be set up for GE, Cutler-Hammer (EATON), Square-D and ITE (Siemens) brand circuit breakers. Consult factory for other brands
• Holes for Cutler-Hammer circuit breakers are drilled directly into back wall
• Breakers also available for magnetic trip only

Switchrack Assemblies
Adalet free standing switchrack and switchgear assemblies provide
motor control and distribution assemblies in one complete, integrated
package. Designed for use indoors or outdoors, Adalet switchrack
assemblies can be designed for hazardous areas where the presence
of flammable gases or vapors may be present.
All Adalet assemblies are designed to meet custom specifications
and are factory assembled and fully wired to accept field power and
load connections. Designed and manufactured under strict quality
guidelines, Adalet switchrack assemblies are manufactured at one
location by experienced personnel complying with all current code
requirements.
Switchracks can be modified to include lighting panels, welding
receptacles, drives, soft starters, PLCs, instrumentation, panelboards,
and other motor control assemblies. Custom switchrack products
are fabricated to meet and exceed our customer's specifications and
application.

Factory Sealed PANELboards
Designed for use in Class I, Division 2 and Class I, Zone 2 areas such as petroleum refineries, chemical or petrochemical
facilities, the factory sealed panelboards are used to control lighting & appliance, power circuits & power distibution in
applications requiring branch power distribution, over current, and short circuit protection.
EXplosionproof PANELboards
The Adalet explosionproof panelboard products are designed for use in lighting and appliance branch circuit protection
applications in Division 1 hazardous locations. All Adalet explosionproof panelboards are equipped with pad-lockable,
external operating handles, copper bus, isolated neutral and ground bar, GFI or EPD breakers, and terminal blocks. Gasket
covers provide NEMA 4/4X rated protection for a watertight seal, and stainless steel cover bolts, removable hinges, and
breather / drain are included as standard features.

• Circuit Breaker Operating Handles–aluminum handles (stainless steel handle option available, consult factory) with stainless steel bushings and shafts. V-ring seals,
gaskets and sealing nuts provided for watertight seal. Handles are spring loaded allowing for the door to be closed with the breaker toggle in any position.
GFI/EPD handles are colored green and include external test capabilities.

Factory Sealed Panelboards
PANELBOARDS
Utilizing electrical components from Cutler Hammer, the Adalet factory sealed panelboards
are pre-wired and factory sealed from the circuit breakers inside the flameproof enclosure
to the main distribution blocks and branch terminals housed in an IP66 rated, Type 4X
stainless steel Increased Safety terminal enclosure. The factory seal between the breaker
enclosure and terminal enclosure elminated the need for external sealing.
All Adalet factory sealed panelboards are equipped with padlockable external operating
handles, copper bus, isolated neutral and ground bar, GFI or EPD breakers, and terminal
blocks. Gasketed covers provide type NEMA 4X rated protection for a watertight deal, and
stainless steel cover bolts, removable hinges, and breather/drain are included as standard
features.
STANDARD FEATURES

• Terminal enclosure has continuously welded seams ground to a smooth finish
• Ample wire bending space allows for easy terminal connection

Division 1 Explosionproof Panelboards
Designed for use in Class 1, Division 1 Zone 1 areas such as petroleum refineries, chemical
or petrochemical facilities, the X1Pb panelboards are used to control lighting & appliance,
power circuits & power distribution in applications requiring branch power distribution, over
current, and short circuit protection.
all X1Pb panelboards are equipped with eaton Pow-r-line chassis with copper bus, isolated
neutral and ground bar. branch breakers and handles are sold seperately. Gasketed covers
provide iP66 and neMa 4/4X rated protection for a watertight seal, and stainlesss steel
cover bolts, removeable hinges, and breather/drain are included as standard features.

Lighting and Power Distribution
Panelboards
The design offers sufficient gutter space on sides to allow through wiring and easy lug connection. All enclosures are
furnished with hinges, stainless steel quad lead cover bolts and are provided with Nema 4 gasketing. All covers are
removable for clear access to breakers and gutter space. The compact design of rectangular housings permits close
grouping on switch racks and other structures. No additional space is required for cover removal except from the front.
STANDARD FEATURES
ENCLOSURE
• Copper-free cast aluminum alloy
• Housings are Adalet XCE series and have precision ground
cover and body joints.
MECHANICAL
• Front mounted power panel and lighting panel branch breaker handles can be padlocked either in “off” or “on” position
• All breaker handles are spring loaded allowing closing of the cover
with breaker toggle in any position
• Operating handle shafts have “V” ring gaskets for watertight
application
ELECTRICAL
• In general, Adalet lighting and power distribution panels are designed with Cutler Hammer chassis copper buss with ground
and isolated neutral bars.
• All branch breakers and operating handles are “optional adders”.

DOUBLE ENDED HOUSING - XDHI housings are designed to isolate incoming power connections from instrumentation.
The 2-5/16” ID provides ample clearance to accommodate a wide variety of miniature measurement and control devices,
with back-to-back chambers separated by a solid 3/16” thick wall. Precision machined from sand-cast copper-free
aluminum.

XIHN Series - 4 1/16” ID Enclosures
Designed to house circuit boards, meters, and instrumentation, Adalet die-cast aluminum housings provide rugged
protection for measurement and detection applications in corrosive, hazardous areas. The XIHN series die-cast
aluminum instrument enclosures are ideal for housing and protecting OEM measurement and sensing devices in harsh or
hazardous environments.

The new XIHNS next generation stainless steel, explosionproof instrument enclosure features a new, updated design
and various features, options and approvals. The 316L investment cast, stainless steel housing is ideal for rugged or
explosionproof applications where severe corrosion exists. The modern, contour design provides an updated look for OEM
applications housing sesitive instrumentation such as measurement devices, transmitters, multi-level circuit boards, or
wide angle readouts and displays.

Adalet junction boxes and instrument housings are designed for installation in electrical conduit systems
for hazardous environments. Use for the wiring of pull boxes, splices, taps and terminal strips; or a housing
apparatus, instruments and other equipment. Three designs are available: solid threaded cover, threaded dome
cover, threaded glass cover.

• Rugged sand-cast aluminum copper-free alloy — 0.3% max. copper content.
• Tumblasted for quality appearance.
• Cast-on mounting lugs, ease of field installation.

• Conduit openings drilled and tapped to customer requirements - can be
field drilled & tapped.
• Cast-on mounting buttons, bosses and pads available.
• A dditional feet can be added to two legged enclosures on orders of 10 or
more (additional charges apply).
