5515 WHITE ALKYD METAL PRIMER
PRIMER FOR EXTERIOR AND INTERIOR
FERROUS METAL SURFACES
A primer formulated to provide excellent adhesion and
to retard corrosion and rust. Recommended for properly
prepared ferrous metal surfaces such as metal doors
and frames, structural steel, steel tanks, ornamental
iron or any other ferrous metal objects. Provides good
first field coat or shop coat on structural steel when
sandblasting is not possible. Monarch performance
alternate for Federal Specification TT-P-636.

All surfaces must be clean, dry and free of dust, dirt,
chalking and peeling paint, wax, grease or any other
contamination. Repair any surface defects before
painting.
Previously Painted Surfaces: Remove all loose
or loosely adhering material by wire brushing or scraping
surface. Spot prime bare areas. For best performance in
more corrosive areas, entire surface should be abrasive
blast cleaned. Glossy areas should be sanded dull.
New Surfaces: Clean with wire brush or by hand
tool scraping in mildly corrosive areas. Abrasive blast
cleaning to a commercial blast is preferred in more
corrosive areas.
Tinting -White in color. May be tinted to pastel or

ventilation. Adverse conditions may affect drying time.
