Kit OMAP3530 evaluation board is based on TI OMAP3530 processor; we provide a
complete development/ evaluation platform of designing house, and system integrator.
This development kit includes two part, carrier board and CPU board. OMAP3530 with
ARM Cortex-A8 core which have 4 times performance than ARM 9 core. OMAP3530
integrate ARM Cortex-A8 core, DSP, picture engine and plenty of peripherals in one single
chip, it provide the best combination of multimedia and photo processor. Our OMAP3530
Kit provides user a complete software development platform, support Linux and Wince6.0
operating system. OMAP3530 provide more than 1200 Dhrystone MIPS high performance,
it can run Linux with QT and integrate the picture engine which compatibles with OpenGL
ES2.0. OMAP3530 comes with 3D accelerator and 430 MHz DSP which has powerful
computing ability to provide a real-time accelerating to the picture, and this processor
widely used in computing game, multimedia center, high definition video (720p), and robot
system. The carrier board of Kit OMAP3530 with plenty of peripherals interfaces.
Production Quality Source Code
For OEMS who want to customize the binary code that ships with the kit, we offer the
production-quality source code for WinCE and Linux. Boardcon delivers technical support
and training to jumpstart custom development.

Modular Design
The KIT OMAP3530 is designed with a modular and extensible architecture to increase
design flexibility, the modular is led out all the basic features of OMAP3530. Other
peripherals like LCD, SPI, Uart,USB,SD/MMC Card, S-Video, Camera, ETK, MCBSP,
Local bus and most I/O CPU lines can be extended via dip connectors. The design allows
the customer to dedicate on making their own mother board faster and more simply.

Rapid Prototyping
The Development Kit is ideal for early and rapid device prototyping providing a peripheral
bus, multiple expansion headers and different connectivity and storage options. Teams
can design custom hardware components to prove product concepts in early stage
development.
The physical layout enables full hardware access for quick hardware test and debug. As
full-scale development efforts begin, the evaluation board can be used by the software
team to concurrently develop system software and applications.

3. More introduction on some points of Specification
(1) OMAP3530 processor as blew picture

OMAP3530 main frequency 600MHz, CortexA8 with Neon SIMD co-process,
430MHz TM320C64x + DSP co-process, POWERVR SG™ 2D/3D accelerator.
(2) RAM + NandFlash as below

128MByte low voltage DDR @ 166Mhz, 1Gbit 128MByte, high sped low voltage SLC
Nand Flash.
(3) SD card interface, UART serial interface as below:

Support SD/SDIO/SDHC card, (also support TF, MiniSD card), system can be boot
from MMC/SD card. Two channel UART interface, can achieve 115200bps baud rate,
with RS232 level conversion circuit.

Kit OMAP3530 board comes with DVI interface. The board output 24 bit colorful
digital display signal. DVI interface provide I2C communication to realize the
identification and communication with the monitor.

(7) AV interface (CVBS), SVIDEO OUT, MiniUSB interface
z AV interface (CVBS), SVIDEO OUT interface, Mini USB interface
Composite video interface or AV interface also called Video interface, it is the most
common video interface currently. KIT OMAP3530 development board use this AV
interface to connect the composite video signal, it is a yellow interface on the board.
SVIDEO OUT can be used to connect with standard TV device. Kit OMAP 3530 board
support output the different video signal by SVIDEO and DVI-D.
Mini USB interface can be used as both USB DEVICE and USB HOST, it support OTG,
HOST two modes (use different type of cable). When Mini USB interface be used as USB
DEVICE, please use Mini USB-USB A converter, and connect a USB HUB.

LCD interface
The interface include 24 bit true color CMOS display signal and touch screen interface,
the maximum can achieve 1920*1080 resolution
(10) Expansion interface
Below is the Pin definition for the expansion peripheral interface
NOTIC: VBAT provide 4.2V output. Other signal all support 1.8V. Pleas notice each
signal’s level limitation, otherwise will case the damage to he Chip of the evaluation board.

4. Application Field

Low power consumption PC: use the OMAP3530 CPU board with a simple carrier
board and a 8’’ LCD to meet the customer requirement. OMA3530 support Linux,
Windows CE,
High performance handheld device: use the OMAP3530 board with a simple carrier
board and another small size LCD. Low power consumption CPU board is very
suitable for smart phone and GPS system.
IP video monitor terminal: Use the CPU board+ carrier board and plus monitor
camera to meet the requirement. OMAP3530 with internal TMS320C64x+DSP
provide a hardware H.264 encode and ensure the video stream be transmitted with
the minimal bandwidth and stable transmission.
Game Player: Use the CPU board+ carrier board and the input device of the game
player. The OMAP3530 internal POWERVR SG™ 2D/3D picture accelerator engine
will fully meet the performance requirement of 3D game player.
Medical equipment: Use the CPU board + carrier board and VGA display to develop
the project.
Industrial control: Use CPU board + carrier board + CAN bus, Ethernet interface and

other interface which used in industrial control filed. The OMAP3530 internal
430Mhz TMS320C64x+ DSP to meet the requirement of industrial control
application development.

8. Demo system performance
We provide demo program based on Android,Angstrom and DVSDK
