1. Basic information
PSJ-VZ58 brings innovative solutions to guns vz.58 from manufacture ARES. Of course this unit is
transfer of functions and unique solution from first generation PSJ-M2 - completely contactless
switching by magnets combined with powerfull MOSFET cooled by whole gearbox, active break fully
functional in any mode set, fully programmable burst and much more. Moreover is unit equipped
with a LED indication for correct installation of trigger, amount of adjustable modes and many
others of useful functions. So it corresponds with second generation of GRIZZLY processor units.
This processor unit is suitable only for guns vz. 58 from manufacture ARES. It was tested for
seamless installation into the original gearboxes vz.58 ARES.
*Every manufacturer innovates their products in time, so there is possibility that our tested
gearbox is different from yours. However your installation is possible but it may be necessary to
adjust unit or gearbox.
2. Functions overview
2.1. Fire modes
• 6 preset fire modes
• allows you to set burst mode from 1 up to 255 shots on one trigger press, this setting
works in all modes containing burst
• automatically switches from burst to full auto without any delay
• modes are fully programmable by trigger itself (see figure 5.2.)
2.2. Rate of fire
• allows you to set delay between two following shots
• programmable by trigger (see figure 5.2.)
2.3. Special functions

4. PSJ-VZ58 installation
! PSJ-VZ58 gen.2 should be installed by specialists only !
Advanced knowledge of AEG replicas is. Also basics in electronics and soldering skills are
needed. Never use soldering gun! Manufacturer takes no responsibility for damaged
caused by unprofessional installation!
4.1. Preparation
For PSJ-VZ58 installation take gearbox out of your replica and remove original processor unit. To
remove the unit must be removed also the selector plate (pict. 1).
Obr.1: Removed gearbox from the replica without original processor unit
4.2. Heat-conductive foil
On both transistors stick enclosed heat-conducting foils. Foils are self-adhesive, is necessary to
remove protective foil from them - from both sides (pict. 2).

4.3. PSJ-VZ58 installation
Insert your unit to original position on gearbox (pict.3). If unit doesn’t fit on gearbox you can
adjust it by rasping. After your unit is placed you must check for any conductive contacts with
gearbox. If there are some conductive contacts you have to remove them, for example by rasping
the unit or your gearbox, or you can use an insulating material. Bottom side of unit is insulated by
pre-installed insulation foil.

4.5. Checking the cut-of lever
After you correctly install the processor unit check if magnet is inserted in gear wheels and is
directly over the probe. Everything was tested on more guns but may happen that the ARES
manufacturer changes gearbox or dimensions of plate without notice. This situation will be
necessary to deal with the GRIZZLY manufacturer.

4.6. Inserting the selector plate
After correct installation of new processor unit reinsert the selector plate to its original position
(pict. 6). Check if magnet is directly over the hall probe when selector plate is in position „auto“.
Everything was tested on more guns but may happen that that the ARES manufacturer changes
gearbox or dimensions of plate without notice. This situation will be necessary to deal with the
GRIZZLY manufacturer.

4.7.1 Magnet installation on the trigger
Set the trigger to position, where you want your replica to fire. Put the magnet on trigger as close
as possible to the sensor (pict. 7). If you want sensitive trigger put the magnet as closest to the
probe when your trigger isn’t pressed (just before the LEDs light up). LED has never lights in the
basic position (pict. 7).
Now stick the magnet. Be careful about magnet polarity – black side is turned towards probe (pict.
7).
(pict.6). If needed, you can very gently bend the probe to be very close to magnet when you press
trigger, but not to touch it.
Pict.7: Installation magnet onto the trigger
4.7.2 Magnet installation on the trigger
The checking is very simple: LED must flash when you push the trigger
Exact notification of trigger:
Free trigger - LED doesn’t light
Pushed trigger (firing) - LED lights
Pict. 8: Notifications of the trigger by using LED
4.8. Replica completion
Assemble the rest of your gearbox in standard way and insert it in your replica. You can now test
your PSJ-M3 and set your prefered fire modes.
WARNING: Be careful on wires when you put the gearbox into the body of your replica.

Example of programming: First, I connect battery and press and hold trigger for 5 seconds. Double
vibration sounds. I press trigger 3 times and then press and hold for 5s - I'm entering Fire mode
setting. I press trigger, after every press vibrations tell me which mode I'm on. I pressed trigger 5
times, which means I choose number 5 (mode Burst only - Auto). Five vibrations sound, so I press
and hold trigger for 5s. Now double vibration sounds, which means my setting is saved and I exited
programming. My replica is ready with selected setting.
5.3. Motor vibrations meaning
• 1x vibration: each time you connect battery - states, that unit is ready
• 2x vibration: entering setting mode, saving and exiting setting mode
• 3x vibration: malfunction or damage detected
• 4x vibration: low battery detected
• 6x vibration: entering manual mode
5.4. Manual mode
If your PSJ indicates damage and you are sure it is not mechanical and your replica is able to
shoot, you can access manual mode. In this mode, malfunction is ignored and you can fire on full
auto, regardless of selected fire mode.
WARNING! By poor judgement, you can cause more damage to your replica!! This mode is not
recommended for users without advanced knowledge of AEG replicas principles!
To enter manual mode after your replica indicates malfunction, just press and holt trigger for 10
seconds. Entering is confirmed by 6 vibrations.
6. Troubleshooting
Your PSJ-VZ58 is not working correctly? Check, where the problem could be:
6.1. Replica not working at all.
• Check if the battery is connected and charged properly. Also check that all wires are
connected properly to all elements – motor, battery.
6.2. Replica vibrates when battery is connected, but after that it does nothing.
• Problem in trigger setting. Check if your trigger is installed properly – magnet should
almost touch the probe when trigger is pressed. Adjust if needed. Also check the polarity of
magnet.
6.3. Selector is on „semi“, but acts like „auto“ is selected.
• Bad selector plate installation. Check, that magnet on selector is directly above the probe
when selector is set on semi. Adjust if needed. Also check the polarity of magnet.
6.4. Replica not shooting, just vibrates 3 times.
• Mechanical malfunction of your replica. Check if motor and gears are not blocked and are
working properly. If you are sure it is ok, you can access manual mode – see figure 5.4.
6.5. Replica vibrates 4 times repeatedly.
• Your battery is discharged. Change your battery, do not forget to charge the discharged
one. If your battery is charged properly, your battery setting may be wrong – change it
according to figure 5.2.
