About Moda.
An LED is a semiconductor which has an almost endless life, covered with a silicon gelatin material to protect it from
damage due to thermal expansions and encapsulated with a plastic lens. Over time of use, the gelatin becomes opaque
and the lens discolors with a slight yellow color. This happens over a very long period of time, so at 50,000 hours at
favorable ambient temperatures the LED will be at 70% of it’s original light output. It is commonly suggested that we
replace light bulbs when they are at 50% of their original light output. With potential variances in temperatures we
designate the life of MODA fixtures as 50,000 hours. MODA LEDs are also cool running, contain no toxic materials like
mercury or lead, instantly on (no start up time), emit no ultra-violet rays or infrared and can be safely recycled. Within this
catalog we are introducing G2 - our second generation of LEDs, almost twice as bright as our first generation. Beyond this,
we have commenced the release of G3, third generation LEDs which are of course brighter than second generation.
A snapshot of this is in Cool White, (typically 6500k), G1 - 45 lumens, G2 - 80 lumens and G3 - 126 lumens.
Being an OEM manufacturer we are supported by the best LED manufacturers, bypassing the LEDs that are published on
manufacturers websites, we get the latest LEDs which are not published yet and quite often not even assigned a name or
product code.
Innovation is our back bone. As LED technology steps forward we are rapid to respond, making new heat sink designs &
optics to suit. Most of the LED fixtures available in the market place are typically at their best G1- The first generation of
LEDs. With MODA, we lead, others follow.

From these components we develop appropriate heat sinks & optics which ultimately lead to an extensive range of fixtures & bulbs. Our strength is founded within our R & D team of twenty highly knowledgeable and
creative experts sharing years of knowledge in fixture design & LED technology. Our perfected products reflect this and are manufactured in our new 300,000 square foot facility by our staff of 2000 employees.
We know LEDs and have mastered manufacturing fixtures using unique “Cold Soldering Techniques” and correct “Color Binning”.

Heat Sinks & Optics
Three shades of white.
With MODA you are investing in technology. You are purchasing a part of our creation.
Each fixture is designed by MODA. As we change to the latest LEDs with greater light output, we redesign a new custom heat
sink for that individual product. The heat sink is a key component in the life of an LED fixture. LEDs are destroyed by heat thus
the heat sink removes the heat from the LEDs by thermal conduction, keeping the LEDs cool. In this catalog you will see some
new and sometimes funky designs of professional heat sinks. These bespoke shapes are actually super efficient heat removers
using a maximum surface area to force air flow away from the fixture. Heat sinks are a must. Mechanical fans designed to
control thermal stress on LEDs all fail before the life of an LED fixture, therefore we never use them. We make this emphasis
on protecting our LEDs from heat even at the manufacturing stage. In 2007 we invested in a “Cold Soldering Reflow Machine”
to ensure our LEDs are not damaged during the manufacturing stage. This is an expensive step, without it heat damage during
fabrication will reduce the life of an LED to only a few years.
With each new LED, we design and manufacture our own custom optics. It’s having a custom lens that MODA designs which
makes the difference in the fixture’s light output. With MODA optics we only loose 3% of the fixture’s actual light output. This is
something that our design team is very proud of. It ensures that the correct beam angle and the fitting of the lens is perfect time
and time again.

When most of us think of LED we picture a typical light fixture with poor light output and inconsistent color temperature. With MODA LIGHT that thought becomes a relic of the past and what MODA offers is a
look into the future. We use the most advanced LEDs available. With our close ties to our LED chip manufacturers we have access to the latest LEDs - many of which are unreleased and not available to the
market. This gives us the ability to move fast, designing the very best in LED lighting - and to be first in the market place. With MODA you are now able to replace halogen, incandescent and fluorescent lighting
with LED. White LED Lighting is one of our trademarks, it is what we are known for. We now offer most of our fixtures in 3 shades. Cool White, Natural White & Warm White.
Cool White - Typically around 6000-6700 kelvin (k). This shade of white has an underlying blue tone. It creates a cold tone in an environment. It looks ultra modern and contemporary. Popular in the retail
industry, it is the brightest of all of our whites (G3 - 105 lumens per watt).
Natural White - Typically around 3800-4500k. Our latest color. It’s popularity is increasing rapidly. Natural White offers a pure white with no underlying tones of blue or yellow. Light output is typically 14% less
than Cool White, but generally greater than Warm White. We were one of the first LED manufacturers to start promoting Natural White in the latter part of 2007 - hence this color has been tagged MODA White.
Warm White - Typically around 2700-3300k. Probably the most popular color throughtout our range. Warm White mimics the look of regular incandescent lighting. Environments look traditional and warm.
Used in residential applications as well as commercial applications to create a warm environment.

Functional LED Lighting
We have mastered the manufacturing of LED fixtures. Making products that actually make sense is important to us.
We have had an LED street light on our drawing board for two years. Only now does it actually make sense to release
this with the new higher light output available from our LED manufacturers. The same can be said for all of our new
products. Why make an MR16 bulb 12v AC if it can not compete with the light output of a 35w halogen bulb?
Our new PAR Bulb series boast a huge lumen output, comparable to incandescent that is in the market place.
Products have to make sense before we make them.
It is important to understand that not all LED products are created equal.
Most of our products exceed the current market in design, innovation, technology and light output.

The biggest change to our collection is our Recessed section. Quadra introduces LED multi spot fixtures to our line, ranging from 3, 6 & 15 LED’s. Ideal for retail & hospitality lighting. New 3”, 4” & 6” Uno & Zeto kits
for LED lighting which require optics. Mezo & Fisso have been updated with our new G2 LEDs with almost double the light output of their previous versions. Eco Seno set’s off our new Seno collection, recessed
illumination with no hot spots, resembling traditional lighting. Seno boasts a Tri-lens, three layers of glass to hide the LEDs and a unique structure which emits 91.5% of the light generated by the LEDs. That is only
an 8.5% loss of light from the Tri-lens. Zeto, Eco Seno & Seno all rapidly convert North American recessed housings to LED.

With our rapid advancement in ultra flexible LED linear flex, LEDs can be installed in most applications to give ambient or task illumination. Linear Flexes are available from 8.5fc per ft at 2’ up to 42fc per ft at 2’.
Most of our products can be cut with a simple pair of scissors and require little or no tools. Cut marks are shown on the tape at various distances from 1” to 8” dependent on which model. Most of our products have a

Halogens can leave the building!
Until now the only lighting choice for retail, display and point of sale was either hot, energy craving halogen bulbs, expensive to buy and run discharge lighting, fluorescents which contain mercury, flicker and give
lighting only suited for a garage or regular incandescent lighting - which definitely should be left at home! Display lighting should not generate unnecessary amounts of heat. Display & jewelry cases should be cool.
You should not have to replace bulbs on a weekly basis. They should not emit any unwanted light waves such as ultra violet (UV) or infrared (IR). They should be able to withstand vibration. They should be instantly

Urban Designed In-Grade Fixtures
Introducing our new full line of In-grade fixtures. Roko & Saxo represent the very best of in ground illumination. This series comes complete with mounting boxes which recess into
paths, driveways and roads and are supplied with lids so the surface can be finished prior to installation of the fixture. Fixtures are complete with LED drivers housed in waterproof
boxes for rapid installation. Gimbal tilt action makes Roko/Saxo 3 ideal for spot light illumination, while the larger Roko/Saxo 12 is for flood illumination.
Lumin, Luminoso & Flor are all ideal LED marker lights made from marine grade 316 stainless steel. Senke & Zem are perfect as larger markers or for ambient illumination.
Energy consumption ranges from 1w to 14.4w. Virtually maintenance free.

Moda LED Drivers
The most important components when using MODA LIGHT products are power supplies which are called drivers. If anything will fail in an installation, it is using incorrect or poor quality
drivers. That is why we insist on every installation that MODA drivers are used with our products. So much so that using a third party power supply will void our warranty.
MODA LEDs are durable, robust and long lasting. Powering our fixtures with incorrect power will destroy the fixture. Most of our fixtures require a stable constant current.
If a poor quality driver is used with our products it may work for a limited time but eventually it will fail and possibly destroy the fixture.
MODA drivers are all UL, CE and ROHS listed and compliant. We use only the very best components in our drivers to
deliver quality stable power to our fixtures ensuring longevity of all MODA products.

Going Green is Easy with MODA
It is a fact that every day we hear or see the word - Green. Over the past 100 years we have all gone about our lives and embraced new products and technology such as fluorescent bulbs and
halogen lighting without any regard to the impact on our environment. Halogen lighting uses a vast amount of energy, it is totally inefficient 9.9-14.4 lumens per watt (lm/w) and last 2000-5000 hours.
Fluorescent tubes are more efficient, but are more power hungry than MODA lights as their control gear uses energy that is often unnoticed. Fluorescent contains liquid mercury, it is this highly toxic
material that presents a hazard to us. So much so that Europe is now implementing new procedures on the safe disposal of fluorescents. Their life is greater than halogen bulbs, typically 20,000 hours.
MODA lights use only a fraction of the energy that all other light forms use. Many of our products run at just 1w. Our MR16 bulb uses only 3.6w.
Efficiency is up to 105 lm/w and last in excess of 50,000 hours. MODA lights contain no toxic material and the majority of our products can be recycled at the end of their long life.
By having these attributes, MODA lights not only look good, but are kind to our planet and directly impact our environment and our carbon foot print - something we all must take responsibility for.
